Summary: This is my AWESOME BANNER from FrozenSoldier!!! Thanks FS!!!!!

Pre-Twilight, a twist in fate allows Alice to remember her childhood. She remembers when the visions started, her family, and a dark moment of her past that makes meeting Jasper more eventful. Jasper's violent past and restless future beg her to tread lightly around this stranger. Will she be able to dig deep enough to find the gentle soul in there somewhere? Or will she scare herself away from the only one who can help her heal? Will they learn to trust one another and the family in her visions, or will things once again spiral out of control?
**Warning- contains allusion to childhood sexual abuse, please don't read if you are sensitive to that topic.

Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 -Arrival
It was worth the wait! Author's Response: The wait for the Cullens? I really liked writing that chapter, I redid it a couple times to make sure it was just how I wanted it before I posted it.I didn't want Edward there right away, at least before Alice realized what he could do. I think that it would be much harder to earn his trust if he saw all of that in her mind before she new that he could see it or if he was trustworthy, this way at least she has some time to get used to it :)
As always, thank you so much for reviewing, it means the world :)

Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6- Camping
I think your portrayal of Jasper and Alice's reticence toward each other is natural and realistic. Author's Response: Thank you so much, I tried to make them a little more deep than "they met and fell in love". I feel like SM does a good job of setting up their meeting, and I should do justice to my version of the details :)
Thanks again for reviewing, you're the best!

Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Run
The 1/4 vampire then 1/2 vampire premise was very odd for me at first, but I love the Jasper/Alice interaction. Author's Response: Yeah... honestly it was for me too... but I needed it for some of the stuff I had planned... so I hope that it gets less weird as the story goes on :)
Thanks for reviewing, especially on all the chapters on the way, it means the world to me! I logged in and had like 7 new reviews (something that has never happened before :) ) and a bunch of them were different chapters from you, and I love it. Thank you again!

Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8 -Nightmare
I love how protective Jasper is already. I think Alice's reactions are very realistic--good job! Author's Response: Thank you! I've always imagined that Jasper would feel the pull but just be confused about how to respond, so he goes back and forth quite a bit, but I think that's how it would be... after all of those years with Maria...
Thanks again for reviewing!

Title: Chapter 39: Chapter 39 - Shattered
I can see how this took a lot of effort. My heart breaks for Alice--and for Jasper too. Her pain really is his pain too, not just in the empath sense.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. James is sadistic beast and deserves to die a slow and cruel death. I can't think of a redeeming quality. I hope Jasper (and Rosalie who has a well-earned grudge of her own against monsters like him) tear him limb from limb. Author's Response: They'll get their chance at him! Actually, that part isn't written yet, but someone certainly will :)
Next chapter is up! In the validation queue! So, although it's been like a billion years, the wait is almost over!
Thank you so much for coming back and sticking with the story. My really close friend lost her mom to cancer a few weeks ago and trying to be there for her from across the country made me think of you, I hope things are getting at least a little easier for you, I just can't imagine.

Title: Chapter 38: Chapter 38- Vanished
Intricately-woven chapter. There's so much going on, but it's not muddled or confusing like some stories that try to put too much in at once.
The scene with Alice and the young man was so sad. I felt for him and for her too. Her recriminations about what she did in light of her religious upbringing was an excellent touch. Esme's guilt was perfect. In fact, I appreciate your use of guilt as a far-reaching theme. Author's Response: Thank you, I get so caught up in people happening without things actually happening that I worry that there isn't enough to keep people interested, so I'm really glad to hear you say that. I read and reread these chapters especially looking for the right places to cut them and making sure that I'm okay with all the stuff going on... hopefully it pays off sometimes :)
It's certainly not happy, but I feel like there would be a lot of guilt going around in the situation. It also seems to me like that would be something James depended on, knowing her way back then, which always interested me in the Twilight original. I feel like some of those lines are just uncovered and left out there when there was so much more to say, in cannon James knows more about Alice than she does and he just takes that knowledge with him to his.... grave? Ashes, I guess. I just always found that interesting.

Title: Chapter 37: Chapter 37 - Blink
I'm sorry I haven't been reviewing. My mom was hospitalized for eight weeks and passed away last week. Reading really wasn't possible in my frame of mind. I'm hoping it'll be a good diversion in the weeks to come.
Now, onto the diversion: Poor Alice! James is really a sadistic jerk. Making Alice kill is horrible, and the abuse might even be worse. I really do enjoy your story and think you're doing such a great job with it. It's unlike anything I've read before.
Author's Response: Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I completely understand, some things are just way more important. I can't even imagine. If there's anything I can do please let me know! I'll write you all the oneshots I can to distract you, I promise!!
Yeah... James is a jerkface. It is certain. She won't be with him for long because I just couldn't bear to keep writing it... although I know in real life that certainly isn't how it works. Thank you for taking the time to review, you know I love hearing from you. I'm glad that you're still enjoying it, I've been completely awful about updating, I keep trying to do better, but.... you know :)
Thanks again for coming back :)

Title: Chapter 31: Chapter 31 - Walls Come Down
I think it is her--just the kinder, gentler side we don't usually get to see. I'm so glad you wrote this chapter. Author's Response: Okay, that's fair :)
Thank you so much for sticking with me... This next chapter is gonna be forever... sorry about that... but thanks again for your support, past present and future... It means a lot to me :)

Title: Chapter 34: Chapter 34 - Next
I'm not sure exactly what Rosalie's up to, but you know I love her. I'm eager for the next chapter. :o) Author's Response: She's always up to something :)
Hopefully the next chapter won't be as long in coming as this one, but I am never sure ;)
thanks for taking the time to read and review, as always :)

Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7- Daybreak
Poor Alice! What a horrible thing to experience.
I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: Yeah... this story is a lot of ups and downs, but I try to make the craziness worth going through based on the good times in between :) I've enjoyed it so far, and it's great to hear that others have, as well.
Luckily, you still have quite a few more chapters ready if this is only on 7 :) I hope that the next ones don't disappoint!

Title: Chapter 35: Chapter 35 - Lesson
It's good to see the way Rosalie's pushing Alice to be tough. I appreciate your incorporation of real defense techniques into the story. I'd hate to think any of your readers would actually have to use them, but if the situation were to arise, maybe something you wrote will help someone. Author's Response: Alice might need them before she knows it, so she's got to pay attention. :)
I honestly don't know much about self defense, but I was trying to get at least something useful in there.
Thank you for taking the time to review, I know it's been forever, thanks for sticking with me :)

Title: Chapter 33: Chapter 33 - Forgive
Esme's advice is very Esme--sweet and honest and motherly.
I love getting inside Jasper's very complicated head and the way you humanize him. Author's Response: I'm glad you didn't think it was too much :)
*sigh*, I just love Jasper and all of his internal craziness. Thank you so much, I'm always wondering if I do Jasper's character's potential justice... he's just so interesting.
Thanks again for taking the time to review. It's awesome :)

Title: Chapter 26: Chapter 26 - An Hour of Firsts
I loved hearing from Edward and can see the seeds of a deep sibling love between him and Alice. I'm always happy for an update. Thanks!! Author's Response: I like writing him too, because he knows what's going on with everyone else, but he still has his own things to add too. This chapter was kind of a weird in-between, but hopefully I'll get to post again soon.
Thank you so much for reading and for always reviewing, it really does mean so much to me, I love hearing from you!

Title: Chapter 18: Chapter 18- The Forecast
Your story shows great insight into the characters. I never read anything that makes me think it couldn't have happened, and that's quite an accomplishment. Author's Response: Wow... that is a huge compliment, thank you! I think there have been parts over the story that would have been out of character... and they almost made it in a few times... but, for wonderful revision the worst has been cut out, so hopefully the rest of the story won't disappoint :)
Thank you again for reading and reviewing. It's pretty cool to be able to track your progress by the reviews :) Also, having gotten to this chapter, you see my silly goal of a review for every 100 hits, and you blew that away single handedly. That is awesome, thank you again :) Author's Response: Wow... that is a huge compliment, thank you! Title: Chapter 17: Chapter 17- Atone
I feel sorry for Jasper; he's trying so hard. Author's Response: Yeah, he's getting somewhere, just slowly and surely :) I think that he would have these kind of difficulties adjusting to normal life, although I'm trying to get through it fast enough to keep everyone interested and not too depressed :)
Thanks again for reviewing!

Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16- Fishing
Loved Emmett and understood Jasper a little more. Author's Response: Yeah, he's not so tough when it comes to Alice. I liked writing the two of them together, I'm glad you liked it too.

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Baby Steps
Aw, I love how sweet Emmett is with Alice. I love me some Emmett all the time, but yours is especially gentle and kind. Author's Response: Aww, thanks :) I really like him too, just not the boring meathead version he's usually written as. They are sweet together, I'm hoping to get to write some more of them in later chapters, I'll have to fit it in.
Thanks again for sticking with my story and for reviewing all of the chapters, it means the world to me!

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11- Satin
I love your protective Jasper. I also really, really love Esme in canon, and yours is at least as sweet and maternal. Author's Response: Thank you! I figured that would be the easiest part of his draw to Alice for him to express, he knows how to attack and defend already, and that expression would be much easier for him than anything more... mushy :)
I also like Esme, and I'm trying to fit their cannon interactions with what I imagine their meeting was like, with the twist of this story thrown in... so it's been interesting.
Thanks again, as always, for reviewing!

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13- Sunrise
I think it's realistic that Alice should feel cautious around the others this early on. Great chapter! Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really enjoy writing the different meetings and growing to trust one another. Thank you again for reviewing, I love hearing from you!

Title: Chapter 42: Chapter 42 - Pause
I feel so sorry for Jasper blaming himself and think James needs to be torn apart, with his favorite parts dealt with exceptionally thoroughly. I really like the way you incorporated Alice's back story as an organic part. It flowed in to the story line perfectly.
I'm sorry I didn't get to where I could review earlier. I was swamped graduating from COLLEGE after many, many moons of study.
If I could have a one shot, it would definitely include some cool sexy Daddy C. That would make for an amazing graduation present. Author's Response: Thanks, I've been planning that! I really hope that you continue to think so :)
Congrats on graduating!!! It's been big life experience time over here on the Twilighted!
Hmm, not really sure what that means? :) PM me and tell me and I'll make sure to make it happen :)

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 12- Hunting
Great touch having Jasper worried more about losing his connection with Alice than actually killing. It seems very in-character for him. Author's Response: I kinda figured he wouldn't really care about feeding off of humans, but he doesn't like making Alice uncomfortable. He doesn't really know how to treat her yet :)
Thank you again for catching up and reviewing all of the chapters. It really means the world to me!

Title: Chapter 19: Chapter 19- Breakfast
I wonder how long it will take for someone--maybe Esme--to figure out that Alice has some form of half-vampire anorexia. I would think getting to the bottom of that would help Alice heal.
Compelling chapter. Author's Response: It's coming! And from someone you might not expect :) They've all noticed... just a matter of figuring out what to do about it.
Compelling... I like that word. Thank you so much for reading! I've enjoyed reading your reviews as you read through the chapters to catch up, it's interesting to see a different perspective of someone reading it all now, rather than having been with me for 10 or 15 chapters. Thank you again, so much, for taking the time to review each chapter, it means the world to me :)

Title: Chapter 20: Chapter 20- The Excursion
I enjoy each new chapter even more than the ones before.
Alice is so determined to fit in and be a part of the family despite her fears. That says a lot for her character. I'm a little confused about the "fruits and vegetables" unless it's Alice just trying to stay tiny. It obviously works for her--maybe I should try it! :o) Author's Response: Well thank you again :)
I've always seen Alice as a fighter, I mean she comes into Twilight with no idea who she was as a human, she's got to have some sort of fight in her to still be able to be so bubbly :)
It is, she's learned over the years what she can and can't get away with, and she's trying to keep up pretenses around the "parents".
I'm really glad you're enjoying it. The way this is going I have no idea when it's going to end... so hopefully the chapters keep getting better, because otherwise I'm going to be writing alone at chapter 102... oh well :)
Thanks again for your feedback. I know the last chapter just got out of beta-ing, and it's so exciting to me that you got to this one already :)
