I wrote fan fiction from the fall of 2008 until the fall of 2009 and was very active in the fic community as a validation beta for Twilighted and avid reader myself. :) I cannot say enough how much I value the friends I made reading, writing, and squeeing over fic.
These days, I've turned my attention to publishing original fiction in contemporary and paranormal romance under the pen name Laura Kaye. I am the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of a dozen books (as of the spring of 2013). None of my published works are based fan fiction stories, and all the fan fiction stories originally published to Twilight or FF (writing as LauraACullen) remain posted. Hmmm...I'm not fully sure I get the hugeness of her overreaction. It seemed like she really SAW him in the hospital the chapter before and at the wedding and with the ornaments and while singing together here. Maybe it's because her feelings for him are becoming so intense it's harder to tolerate each of the small insults she ends up experiencing. I'm looking forward to the grand gesture he's clearly planning.

I hated that they wouldn't talk to each other. I loved the urgency of the sexy scene, but when they wake up in the morning they still haven't actually SAID anything. At some point they need to mature if they actually want something with the other person.

Glad to see another chapter of this story. Hmm...Bella not feeling good. That's just too suspicious to have been a throw-away line. I can't believe they went this long without telling anyone. For some reason I'm worried that they're going to wait a whole another week before telling. Seems like something is going to happen...
Summary: "He reached towards me, and in one fluid gesture he tore the front of my shirt down the middle, like a child tearing wrapping paper off a gift. Despite the violence of the action, he had barely touched me. I trembled furiously as I recognized the import of his words, and my hands rose protectively to cover my exposed skin. Summary: It's just a normal day in the life of me, Bella Swan, until I get fired from my waitressing job, so – of course – I called my best friend, Alice, to tell her the news, except it turns out that I didn't actually call Alice – I accidentally dialed the wrong number, and ended up talking to this mysterious stranger with a deep, rich voice who just happens to want to be my anonymous phone friend.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm glad you are liking the story. It is kind of sad, to think of the Cullen's as being mortal. I just have to think that this is what the Cullen's would want. I think that they are all, depiste how hard it has been for them, glad they were vampires at one point. If they hadn't been - none of them would have met each other. But once they have each other, they would like to live out their existance as humans. But... don't make assumptions about the future of the story. I am not going to spoil anything, but the meaning of that sentence will be clear within a few chapters.

I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! A couple chapters back, maybe the chapter where they had sex for the first time, you said his eyes darkened (or blackened) when he was aroused, and I thought--did she just make a mistake? his eyes wouldn't change now. But then I thought, uh oh, this cure isn't going to be permanent, is it?
Okay, though, for God sakes, please don't let Edward be an ass for long. She already told him she wants all of him no matter what that entails. Would he please just listen for once? Author's Response: Hi
Thanks for reading and reviewing, again. I did the foreshadowing so that people wouldn't freak out about this. Questions about what exactly is going on will be answered in upcoming chapters. I think that the question isn't about Edward being an ass, it is about Bella. The Bella in my story isn't going to ask Edward to listen. She is going to force Edward to listen. She is strong and an equal member in the relationship.

Please update soon. And, I have to disagree with Bella's thinking on the possibility of changing. If it was me, having gotten to live til 26, it would be easier for me to say yes to the change because I HAD had the chance to live and experience life more. Her career doesn't have to go away; it only has to be postponed for a number of years until she can be around people again, and then she can do it as long as she likes. Yes, she would have to give up seeing her friends, but they live 3000 miles away--how frequently would she see them anyway? And she could still talk to them on the phone or email, etc. Evidence of a good story--makes you get invested in it.
Now they need to go talk to Rosalie.

I reread this chapter before moving onto the newly posted one and had these reactions: 1) couldn't fully identify with Bella's feelings that she should be angry at Edward--although later in the chapter the gravity of the situation finally seems to dawn on her when Carlisle talks about whether or not the change can be reversed; 2) to me, Bella's thinking on being changed at 18 versus 26 seems backward--she's actually had time to live, to experience human things, and it would be easier if it were me to now change having had those experiences. Bella is angry with Edward because he is trying to make a decision that will have a very serious impact on their relationship without her. When I read the original novels, specifically New Moon, I was frustrated beyond belief when Bella was just grateful Edward wanted her again - after Italy. To me that was not a realisitc or healthy reaction. I think that situation, in New Moon, highlighted the inequality in the relationship between Bella and Edward. And again - this is just my opinion. When writing this story, my main goal was to illustrate the relationship between Bella and Edward as being equal and stronger than I felt the relationship in the original novel was.
Bella was angry because Edward was trying to make a decision that would affect her, without her help. Part of it was it dredged up feelings of him abandoning her in New Moon, and on the night before their wedding. And part of it was that she needed that anger to help her fight him. To help her argue with him, to keep him there with her. Edward is not just going to accept this new Bella overnight, he is still trying to control things a bit - that is his nature, that is the Edward we know and love. But she is gaining some ground, inch by inch, and making sure that Edward knows the relationship is a partnership. He has to make decisions with her, not without her.
Bella pondered a lot about the change. It was just pondering. She was not making any decisions. A lot of readers asked me about this, and I posted on it a bit on the EYL thread of the AU forums. In Bella's eight years as human she has lived without Edward, and lived a life otuside of the Forks bubble. She thought, for eight years, that Edward was never coming back. She gave up thinking about the immortal life and started thinking about a human life. About a marriage, a family, growing old, a career, about things that she can only have if she were human. I think that at 18 she did not really know all that she would be giving up to be with Edward, but at 26 she has a firm understanding of what that all would entail. I believe that if she were to make the decision to become a vampire now, at 26, it would be a stronger decision, meaning her feelings would be stronger and she would be more prepared - because she fully grasps all that she is giving up.
I hope that this makes sense, and helps you understand the story and Bella's thinking a bit better. Please check out the EYL thread on the Au forum if you have any further questions or want further understanding.
