This story was inspired by psymom’s description of the “Cross-Over” category. I thought to myself: “What if it’s not Carlisle… but Edward? And, instead of ER, it’s Grey’s Anatomy?” (Don’t you just love “What if”s?)

When Edward left Bella in the forest, he was broken. While in South America, struggling each day to keep his end of the bargain, he came to a very important conclusion. He could no longer protect Bella; he accepted that. But that wasn’t an excuse. Edward decided that it was his obligation to save as many others as possible. Seeking redemption, he decided to become a doctor. After all, he had promised Bella that there would be distractions…

Edward secures a resident position at Seattle Grace Hospital. But what happens when Bella arrives in less-than-perfect condition? Soon, the fragile balance he has fought so hard to establish begins to tear apart.

Edward Cullen made Bella Swan’s life a living hell from age ten to twelve. Finally fed up with the torment and teasing, she moved to Phoenix.
