Summary:  You know those fics where Edward doesn't come back and Bella forgets about him and five seconds later she's in bed with Jacob and none of it makes any damn sense?
Yeah, this isn't one of them.
This story picks up from the moment in New Moon when Jacob has driven Bella home after the cliff diving incident, right before he catches the scent of Alice. Only in this telling, Alice wasn't looking, so there's no sudden appearance at Bella's house, no Rosalie calling Edward and sending him on a suicidal mission to Volterra, and no reason for Bella to do anything but believe that Edward didn't love her anymore. This is simply a story of what might have happened if everyone stayed mostly in character and Edward's return was delayed. Yes, delayed. Because we all know that he was "this close" to coming back on his own anyhow.
So what would have happened if Bella had tried to move on with her life? Would she have found happiness with Jacob? And would Edward be too late?

Title: Chapter 66: Unexpected: Jacob's POV
I literally laughed out loud at "Now review or Jake dies." And we don't want our Jacob to die so....
I'm confused and upset with Bella...but I was the entire time I read the actual books too. Like...after someone does all they can for you, loves you so much, protects you, keeps you happy and alive...you just forget it and go back to what broke you down in the first place. BOOOOOO. I'm hoping that Jake does what he did in the movie (I can't recall if he actually said this in the book)...but I hope he comes back when he sees Bella with Alice and she says, "I thought you couldn't protect me here." and he'll say, "Guess I don't care." He loves her too much to just watch her choose someone other than him.
Summary: 
Four weeks before her wedding to Edward, Bella is frustrated. She knows there's little-to-no chance of getting him to bend his rules and boundaries now, but there's no harm in fantasizing about what could happen later. So she begins compiling a list of things that she and Edward can do together once they're happily married. She's surprised to find she might be able to cross some things off earlier than she thought...

Title: Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Countdown to a Change
I will be...livid...if we have to wait for another month for the next chapter after the way you've left us hanging with this one!!!!! Great one--I love the family and Emmett's pancakes and everything. I'm really hoping Edward doesn't hate himself for biting her before the morphine also...like he understands that this was probably the best possible way for him to change Bella.

Title: Chapter 27: Chapter Twenty-Seven
I am totally and completely addicted to this story! This is how I would have wanted things to turn out, 100%!!!! And I love how Jake is having dreams about how Bella's life turned out in Stephenie Meyer's world. I wonder, if Edward could dream, do you think he's dream about Bella's life with Jacob? This just seems to me how the story should have turned out...Bella realizing she has no personality without Edward, understanding that their relationship and his jealousy are unhealthy, and her deciding that Jacob is perfect for her. *Sigh*...I can't wait to find my Jacob.

I'm working on the next chapter as we speak, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long for an update. I love that ending more than I think I could possibly love an ending to anything! Not that I don't love Edward, but how else could Bella make it perfectly clear to Jake that she didn't regret her decision?!? So great. Loved this fic...thank you! Author's Response: Thanks!
