Summary:
Bella Swan spent the first two years of her life in Forks developing a friendship with Jacob Black that finally turned into something more. As she begins her senior year of high school, a new family moves to town and Bella slowly begins to question the path she thought her life would follow. yeah i already told you that on ff.net for some of the last other chapters but here i go again...i still think bella isn't innocent as well and i still think that she's geeting a bit over her head...i know that sounds like i'm a total bitch. but okay we get it he lied but he wanted to keep her safe as well which is understandbly considering how someone elso who also claims to love her attacked her - meaning, yeah if you have such powers you can slip and hurt someone you love. so what's better - being lied to or being actually crushed? i mean, don't get me wrong, i totally get that she's in a horrible hurtful situation...but somehow along the way she got herself in it...it's not like some shit like that wasn't coming a long way...i really like this story but to be honest, bella gets kinda on my nerves, she's (to me at least) kinda self-righteous (and now i really feel like an unsensitive bitch for saying that)...

thank you! obviously i belong to the second group you mentioned and i loved that kiss...maybe because i think 34 chapters for a kiss are hell of a lot time and maybe because i am selfish and wanted that kiss. because i honestly can't hurt anymore that much because of a fanfic (and that is a hidden compliment for you and your writing skill!) ... yeah and i think edward and bella deserve to stop hurting and they're cut some slack...and if someone should suffer any longer it's jacob...okay i've said all i wanted to say! sorry again that my review last time was all ranting! i hope this one is better! as i said: go kiss go! i really like this one - and i absolutly love how edward tries so hard and has so sweet ideas! and i love hope - she's special...and i love how she challenges edward and he in turn takes care of her - not just as a doctor but as a friend. i hope she holds on for a long time - i can't imagine how devastated edward will be...

oh please, please don't let edward make the same mistake that his family has done with him! please!!!! that actually would kill me (well, okay, obviously i'm exaggerating...but you know what i mean!) pleas let him be so mad because he's mad at emmett and aro etc. for judging her...pretty please...i think they both should finally stand by one another...b/e against the world (well with a little help of papa charlie)! i don't think there can be a realistic happy ending if edward doesn't believe in bella's innocence - how could she marry someone who didn't stand by her in her dark(est) hour? especcially if that someone was exactly in the same position and knows how it feels to be judged unjustly...

ahh just like all your other stories heartbreakingly beautiful! and i love that renesmee has such a bond with carlisle and edward - i was kinda sad that she didn't seem to have it in the books...but that's why i love stories like this! :)
and yes, i thought as well that being an immortal must include one hell of bureaucracy... Author's Response: Thank you very much! I really enjoyed filling in Renesmee's relataionship with her father and grandfather. It would no doubt exist, and I don't blame Bella for not spending time thinking about it--but, I do like to fill those sorts of holes. :) And for some reason I *love* thinking about how the Cullens manage their charade, and I work those ideas in wherever I can. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

i do like your story, but honestly i hate bella a bit right now...i mean i get that she's sad and has problems but honestly alice has a point...and yes she's hurting but i bet edward's hurting too, and she's not making this a bit better for him - honestly i'd be in pieces right now if i were edward...he's really fucking understanding and she just keeps pulling that crap. like what was that with the call? i mean clearly he has to get on with his life as well... so she's allowed to go back to work and do her stuff but he should wait for her, after all she doesn't even talk with him. sorry if i'm based and obviously i do tend to edward - call me insensitive and non-understanding ;)...sorry! i hope you don't get this wrong! i really like your story and writing...and you're doing a good work if you get me this much worked up over a story :) Author's Response: No, no! I appreciate your thoughts; I ENJOY it when people have opinions on my stories! The thing is that we're only getting Bella's side of the story. I know what Edward is doing, and I've got some secrets as far as he's concerned. Edward is patient, but he also has Alice and his parents to confide/yell in/at; we're not seeing his conversations with them. We know he can get just as jealous and angry as Jacob; he had that conversation on the phone, remember? And as far as Bella is concerned ... I really want her to make the mistakes that Edward makes in NM; namely that she tries to make a decision without considering what Edward really needs. It's egoism at it's purist form; doing something because you think that's what's best for them. That's Bella's tragic flaw in this mess, and Alice really hit the nail on the head in this chapter. So everything you said is dead on - these characters have to make some changes to every part of their relationship. You aren't insensitive at ALL - your thoughts are EXACTLY what mine are on the subject ... except I know a little bit more about Edward's deal. :) Thank you so much for sharing; I appreciate absolutely everything!

i still don't like her very much (i'm totally on team edward even though i know he has faults etc. but he's still hurting as well...and why is it so hard to tell him what she needs and wants it's not like he can read HER mind...and why does she always end things (or phonecalls) if things turn out not to be how she envisioned them to be - i mean honestly her moodswings must give him whiplash)...yeah i'm stubborn like that - she has to do more than that to gain my love back (which i can assure is there - really, i do love that girl, just not right now)...but i seriously can't take jacob - does he always have to intrude? anyways, thanks for being so understanding and not taking my last comment the wrong way!!! i really think you're a great writer and doing an amazing job with this! Author's Response: Hah hah. If the characters were conflict-less we wouldn't have a story; that's why I don't take your comments as aggressive or mean! If I'm making you really care about them (or really hate them), I'm doing my job! :) Everyone in this story has a fault, and it's come about because of this one little arrest incident. Bella is insecure and defines herself by her relationship with Edward; Edward is a little too patient with her - he's letting her figure things out because she's always needed him to be the silent protector, but what she really needs is for him to assert what he wants. Jake is ruled by his guilt, and it makes him do things that he wouldn't normally do because, deep down, all he can think about when it comes to Bella is that he screwed her royally. And Charlie was too passive; his aggressive action against Edward made him second-guess his place in Bella's life. I kind of think he gave up that day she graduated from med school. So ALL of the characters have flaws, and ALL of them have to learn to get over the incident. :D Thank you for commenting; please, please, feel free to rant all you want! I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts!

really sweet! i'm glad edward's opening up! can't wait for next time - maybe they're gonna talk? and maybe we get to hear him play piano? i actually wonder if e is any good in fighting and stuff like that? since he's quite good in "almost" anything in the original twilight i just wondered if he can be like that in this story as wll (now that bella is kinda really there for him)...i'd just love for them to have some easy banter and stuff...that he'd come out of his shell (kind of like at the dance)...glad you updated!

Title: Chapter 4: The One Option Left
I'm enjoying this very much!!!! the story made it to my favorites - just so you know :) i can't understand why there aren't more reviews...
anyways, i really enjoy your portrait of edwards and carliles' relationship and the bond they share. it broke my heart when you wrote about esme asking carliles to send edward away, especially when carliles realizes that edward was there first - even though his love hasn't been romantic. i love the conflict all characters - but esp. edward and carliles - are feeling. edward hurting very much himself, but even more so because he can't bear to see those he loves being hurt because of him; carliles because he has to think of his whole family and what is good for them and his unique love to his first child that is - at least in my eyes - a bit stronger, or maybe stronger is the wrong word, deeper maybe than the love he has for his other children.
also i like that alice is on his side... i read another review where somebody pointed out how often alice seems to be rather 'against' edward - i think the person who made this review had a point! alice and edward share a strong bond (also because they have special talents) and they're their own favorite siblings - of course alice would support her favorite brother. maybe she wouldn't see eye to eye with him but she would anyway be there for him because that's what you do when you love...
anyway, i can't wait to see how this is progressing! i'm really looking forward to when edward is throwing away his cell or his departure to volterra and of course his return - especially since i can't wait to read carliles' reaction to all those events! i feel we got too little of him (and his bond to edward) in the books and i'm so grateful that you paint a believable picture for me!
also i want to compliment your writing - it's really nicely done. you capture moods and thoughts so well and i never feel confused or cut off...i love your portrayals and hope for more!
now i'm done with my ramblings - i think that might have been the longest review i ever did :) Author's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a lengthy review! I'm really glad you're enjoying the story and the conflicts between the characters. New Moon is really a book about internal conflict, and so I think it only makes sense that the Cullens' side of the story is about the same thing. The relationship between Carlisle and Edward is the central theme around which Ithaca revolves, so a lot more is coming on that front. (And I like the word "deeper" to describe it in relationship to the love he has for the others.) I've started to outline the Volterra chapters, as I think of them, and I *think* all of you who are looking forward to them will be pleased. But they're a ways down the line--there's a lot more to break and develop between now and then!
