Mid-30s guy with an addiction for fan fiction presently, and a slew of unfinished writing in my file cabinet and computer that I never seem to manage to complete full stories. Plots and bits and pieces, sure, but start-to-finish stories still elude me.
Aside from that I'm always over-thinking things, have a science background but love my fiction books... and I guess I'm a twi-guy being here as much as I am lately :S (I own the series and The Host as well). Also a fan of David Eddings and Clive Cussler.
Just starting an Education degree that'll eventually send me out to Middle and Secondary schools to teach math and science (mostly biology, probably).
Oh and my friends just gave me an Edward doll from the Barbie range (he sparkles! lol they didn't realise it at the time either) My Twi-diction is kind of a running joke for them, but their nice enough about it :)

hmm while Edward was terse with Esme, he was woken from sleep in addition to having problems with the family dynamic, so it's sort of understandable. I'm not often in the best of temper straight after being woken by a phone rining :P
Family therapy should be interesting :)
Author's Response: family therapy is interesting. Alice didn't tell him about everything that happened in the session that she attended and quite wisely too. It might just have scared him off for good.

Summary: 
Taking one last deep breath, I bent down on my knees and assumed the position that Angela taught me. My hands were now shaking uncontrollably, and I was thankful to be able to place them on the cold, hard concrete. It kept me steady as I lowered my head and waited for the mistress to make her appearance.
It seemed like forever, and I knew it was more likely like two minutes, but the door finally creaked open. It was such a rush to have only my hearing to decipher what the mistress was doing because I saw nothing, but heard the soft clacking of her heels on the floor.
Breathing heavily now, I stared at the ground, nervous as all hell, and waiting for something-her, me...I didn't know.

Title: Chapter 9: 8: God and Monsters
hmm I quite enjoyed this lok into Carlisle's life & views. I've often wondered if Aro's interest in Carlisle has a little bit of a hope for personal redemption attached to it. For the most part, he enjoys his power & standing "above" humanity, but he's perhaps covering himself against the possibility that there's something greater or stranger out there. Carlisle is the sort of person who would speak up for his friend, regardless of personal beliefs.
Looking forward to more of Carlisle's views on Bella & their relationship as it progressed :)
Oh, and it feels like Bella's presence in this timeline was pulling at Carlisle even before they met :)

It's good to see that at least Edward had the family rallying around him through all the upset of losing Jack and discovering certain truths about Victoria... though I can only imagine how bad he's going to get when he realises just HOW bad Victoria got :S

Bella watched as the screen cut to a shot of her father, standing behind a podium stuffed with microphones. She was shocked to see how haggard he looked, how tired and run down, how...old. Like most children, her father had often seemed ageless to her, even when he started getting grey hairs and laugh lines around his eyes. Sure, part of her knew that he would die one day, because everyone died. But that was in the distant future, and in the mean time he was her father and he loved her, and he would always be there for her in his quiet, steady way.
But now, watching the usually stoic Charlie Swan attempt to keep it together for the cameras, Bella was surprised to realize that her father was not some invincible force from her childhood. He was a human man, and he was falling apart.

Sighing, she turned away from the mirror and put her bag down on the bed and opened it. Instantly, she was assaulted by a fresh scent, one that she had never smelled with this nose, but would know it anywhere.
It was her own.
In the bag were clothes, her clothes. Ones she had worn as a human being. Band shirts were folded neatly next to old worn jeans and over sized hoodies. It looked like Jasper had raided her closet and dresser, packing it all neatly into this giant duffle.
Ironically, this scent did not make her throat erupt in flame. It smelled delicious, for sure, but there was no thirst there. It was simply the comfort of the familiar, something that she had never realized she would miss until it was gone. Slowly, she started taking out her clothes and putting them away.Underneath some of her nicer sweaters were several picture frames wrapped in t-shirts. Slowly, she unwrapped them, the lump getting harder and harder.
Jasper had grabbed all of the pictures that littered her room.
She was holding her family in her hands.

hmm it sounds like whatever arguments Alice and Jasper had before he left the Cullens were quite intense :S
I'm not sure how I feel about the possibility of Bella and Jasper ending up together versus the whole thing with Alice being tied with her predictions and it being the only way that she could see "working" on short (by human-vampire standards) notice... but we'll see.

Bella's got some great tantrum skills there - though I think she's completely justified in her rant and acting out :)
I'm looking forward to the family's ongoing reactions especially as they start to realise that they abandoned not only Bella, but Jasper as well, when they were needed most... and Jasper really didn't have a chance with his own blood lust plus the family's and Edward's additional "feelings" on that front.
