He surely can't use the 'maybe I'm the bad guy' routine this time around... he's at least attempting to be the 'balance' or something - not really the monster, nor the hero (at worst) :)

ahhh Edward... he really does tend to go all to pieces when he can't simply read a person's thoughts and has to rely upon body language and other cues :S

Good to see Alice and Edward reconcile and Alice carefully reminding Edward to think about his feelings and Bella's as he tries to help her.

uh oh... I'm more than a little worried that Bella's about to have, or already had/having another encounter with James. For all the progress that was being made, no good will come of this night from the looks of it :S (though I hope I'm wrong)

woohoo - so happy for B&E! Whilst it's still going to be a difficult road ahead, it's good that they're going to be trying to get through it together now :)

this chapter was great - deep and meaningful moments in with the fluff makes it a good connector to the story :)

Whilst it's always annoying as hell to see characters follow through on these kind of things in stories, they are plot devices that allow you to develop the story in the first place so it's understandable in that sense.

The reality of similar situations often has the same progression unfortunately, although Edward would have been the right sort of character to break the cycle.

I'll look forward to the "happily ever after" for Edward and Bella and the rest :)

As far as your possible Edward-Mike confrontation - I think your Edward would try to do something that finishes with Mike waking up to himself... I agree that he wouldn't try to go for a knock-down brawl because his whole life has been aimed at avoiding those conflicts; but handling a situation that teaches a lesson, one that actually makes an impact for the better - that's more your Ed's style.

Not really too sure how you'd do that though... maybe something around the sporting events. I do think that Bella would have a key role to play - perhaps to keep Mike from escalating whatever the confrontation is.

Anyway, it's been a great story and I'm glad you chose to share it with us! :)
