Mid-30s guy with an addiction for fan fiction presently, and a slew of unfinished writing in my file cabinet and computer that I never seem to manage to complete full stories. Plots and bits and pieces, sure, but start-to-finish stories still elude me.

Aside from that I'm always over-thinking things, have a science background but love my fiction books... and I guess I'm a twi-guy being here as much as I am lately :S (I own the series and The Host as well). Also a fan of David Eddings and Clive Cussler.

Just starting an Education degree that'll eventually send me out to Middle and Secondary schools to teach math and science (mostly biology, probably).

Oh and my friends just gave me an Edward doll from the Barbie range (he sparkles! lol they didn't realise it at the time either) My Twi-diction is kind of a running joke for them, but their nice enough about it :)

Bella and Edward are both broken by his abrupt departure following her birthday. In an attempt to heal her pain, Bella turns to pen and knife for release, until a nomad vampire crosses her path and new possibilities bloom. Meanwhile, Edward deals with his self-inflicted torment through music, which brings him closer to his family. But the tides of sorrow are too strong, and he must learn to accept fate or drown.

hmm a lot happening in that chapter, but mostly I find I'm curious about the other new band that's just interested in playing the music... I wonder if it's Edward & co? And how long before the respective parties become accustomed to the human blood scent to possibly latch onto each others' even if they don't immediately realise the connections?

Author's Response:

Interesting questions, and all of which get answered in a handful more chapters. Promise! But good eye on catching the details!

Thanks for reading and reviewing, it means a lot to me!

whoa intense... Edward's got some serious work ahead of him to convince Bella he wants to stick around for her... I'm feeling bad for Jasper the most though, he's the one that's been accepted/forgiven already, has the best "new" relationship with Bella, and yet he's the one currently getting the worst end of the stick.

Strangely, I can only see that making their new friendship even stronger because he literally has felt the same as Bella. And she knows it.

Author's Response:

She does know it. Very good point. =)

As for Jasper... I agree. He is getting the short end of the stick, but I think he would be willing to sacrifice whatever he had to, to see them back together. Bella is slowly becoming an important person to Jasper, and Edward has always been important to him. He's their big brother, and he wants to see them happy. =)

Thanks for the review hun!

You rock.

Excellent to see them making up - they've still got a ways to go, but at least they're more comfortable being WITH each other now :)

I wonder if Bella's shield wobbled at all, or if Jasper's been knocked over by the intense feelings that would surely have been coming out of that room?

Author's Response:

Interesting question! When Bella is hurting emotionally because of Edward, her shield fades in strength.. but at the end of this chapter, she was anything BUT hurt by Edward, so her shield was rather strong. Jasper would still feel it, and I'm sure it would feel similar to a sense of being high on love for him, which just radiates to the rest of the family. =) Hope that answers your question. I'll definitely be going more in depth about her talent in the upcoming chapters.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

geez... Bella's going to end up with an ulcer and prematurely gray hair :S hehe

all the more reason for Edward to Change her sooner rather than later? ;)

Author's Response:

Well, you're getting a *little* ahead of the story. ;)  Eventually I'm going to have to put in a more relaxing chapter somewhere.

heheh some close calls there, but had to laugh at Emmett taking the three of them to task for their conduct :)

Oh and Edward's boyish curiosity and playfulness at times there!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review!  Can you think of someone less appropriate for disciplining someone than Emmett?  It's gotta be difficult for the poor guy.

And...I tried to imagine what it would be like for a vampire to get hit by the bomb blast.  It must be the closest they could get to a roller coaster, right?

So Bella has a hint now of just how long Edward's been around - and without ageing. It was kind of funny to see her reactions to Edward's "dazzling" even if she doesn't seem to have quite added it all up yet.

Will Ben and Angela be hitting it off when they cross paths, I wonder?

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review!  I've been working on exactly what explanations she would devise given her scientific training.  She would definitely *not* think vampire, If she did, she'd have to commit herself for treatment.

My AU transplanted Mike, Jessica, Tyler, and Angela to DC -- I felt bad for Angela and Ben being separated.  Maybe this will make up for the lost time?

Excerpt from Chapter Four:

She looked up at me from behind the steering wheel, her expression poised between tenderness and curiosity.  “I keep thinking I’ll wake up, Edward.  I hope I’m not dreaming. I don’t think I could bear waking up again.”

In an instant, I was kneeling beside her, her face cupped in my palm.  The heat from her skin was a delicious sensation, the burning in my throat its inevitable price, but one I was more than willing to pay.  “You’re awake, love,” I murmured fervently, willing her to trust me though I didn’t really deserve it. I would try to earn that trust back. I had to.  “You are.  I’ll never be far from you again, if you’ll let me stay.”

Chuckled at Edward's "Yes, dear" in his head hehe

Wonder if he'll slip up shortly and say it out loud? :)

Joham's obviously going to be a problem, but will the other Cullens show up in time to take turns with Edward "guarding" Bella... and I hope Edward doesn't keep this latest 'visit' secret from her. Even with the stress level most likely rising, her discomfort at being left out of the loop again would be worse.

Author's Response:

Good morning, Daylen!

Heh, glad that got a chuckle. I liked it, myself.  Toyed with having him think about all the oh so proper family shows from 1950's television, but changed my mind. It would have been amusing, but wouldn't have moved the story along at all. lol

Guarding Bella...sounds like a one-shot title. I kid, I kid! Bella's been keeping a secret or two from Edward, but she does have a plan to let him hunt and to keep herself safe.  She really does.  :)

Thank you for reading!

But it's widely acknowledged I'm just a bit weird :)

Author's Response:

Good afternoon, Daylen!

Hey, I checked out your profile (I do that for everyone who reviews) and was tickled to see another twi-guy reading my stuff. Thanks for dropping by!

I am personally a person who highly values solitude, so for me this kind of thing is, oddly, normal. :) I'm glad you can understand Bella's possible motivations, too.

Her actual motivations (I add with a chuckle) will become clear eventually. :)

I hope the game is a good one for you! When I was trying to think of which game to have them play, I called upon my husband to help me. LOL  Though not into fanfiction himself, he still gave me a great idea that worked, I think, pretty well. :)

Hope you think so!

Ok Edward's totally gone for the panties, we all know how much he's repressed over the years :)

That's my guess anyways...

It's interesting that the Black suite holds that name with significance for the story, and that the colour scheme sounds pretty close to Edward's room in Forks - so it's got symbolism from both parts of Bella's heart.

So now I'm wondering are we going to see Bella's conversation with herself? A bit of talking the "room" or perhaps to her reflection, and it answering back? hehe

Author's Response:

Good morning, Daylen!

LOL Nope, not the panties, but I can totally see why just about everyone thinks so. Emmett, now... He'd would have gone for the panties. *grin*

You know, until you pointed out the color scheme's similarities, I hadn't thought about that.  Mostly, I was going for name and location when I chose the hotel and suite.  In canon, Edward didn't get the bed until Eclipse, which doesn't happen here, but the black and gold is good. *Curtsies* Nice catch!

You will not be seeing Bella's convo with herself. This whole story (until the epilogue) is in Edward's POV only.  When she spills to him (in two chapters) we'll all know.

Thank you for reading!

so it was a tank top! hmm I guess that's somewhat more socially acceptable? hehe

Sounds like Bella's planning an "information swap" with Edward - so they can both be on the same page after his departure and return, and her choices in marrying Jacob initially... something that at the end of it all, they can both be secure in the re-awakened and newly-mature feelings for each other.

Joham's in for it when he shows... unless Edward decides to have a chat with him, perhaps he can avoid killing his mothers? :S

Author's Response:

Good morning, Daylen!

Yep! See, Edward's not TOO bad... ;-)

Yes indeed. Bella will be going for full disclosure in the next chapter. I just slipped that into the queue the morning, so it should be available soon. :)

Joham.. You know, I really should learn Portuguese.  Relying on online translators is uncertain.  (All of which is to say... Yes, he will show himself before story's end and yes, I needed to know what he was thinking...)

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I appreciate hearing from you.

hehe the gift that keeps on giving - Edward "the man" has truly been let out of his cage now :)

If I were Emmett and Jasper though, especially Emmett, I'd be hoping that Bella "forgets" certain things after her eventual Change - such as all the teasing aimed at making her blush. I can see Bella waking up reading to exact some payback way worse than fishing for piranha by "hand" :)

As much as it was worrying, it was also amusing to see Joham's thoughts at the start when he was realising he was "too late" hehe

Can't wait for the next chapter - looks like Emmett's getting some great lines (crossed) ;)

Author's Response:

Hi, Daylen!

LOL Yeah, I know. A totally cheesy line. But I thought it was just cliché enough that I could get away with it. ;-)

Edward's libido has been let out to play.  No wonder those two couldn't seem to make it to the car for hours... Of course, me being me, I didn't actually delineate the time involved. *cough*

OH! I hadn't ever really considered Payback Options for Bella! That would be amusing. :)

Yeah... Joham, for all his vampiric impregnating abilities, has a timing problem. Still, he hasn't gone away...

The next chapter is in the queue!  Hope you like how I wrap it up. :)

Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts with me!

ahah Beware the aggressive/protective/defensive Cullen women!! And I'm including Bella in that list - I think she is (and will be) the most clever one to be watching out for. Edward's certainly going to be kept on his toes for the rest of eternity (when not kept in bed ;)

Author's Response:

Good evening, Daylen!

Yeah, as Edward says -- the women in his family are scary! ;-)  Heh. Well, hang on to your Bella-supposition, eh?

I LOVE the idea of Edward being kept on his toes for eternity. I really do think that.  Except in bed. Very clever. lol

hehe yeah can just imagine the nomad-mentality being the sort of thing that if they get bested they go whining about super powered covens to the higher ups :P

More than a little concerned about the divide and conquer chances considering Aro's (and the Volturi's) history for dealing with perceived threats.

Guess we'll see what happens there... considering that the Cullens are intending to follow through on the "suggestions", if the rest of the vampire world knows that, and there's still a problem down the track, more will come to understand that the Volturi have more sinister designs.

I would like to think it wouldn't cost any of our favourite family members' lives though :)

Author's Response:

Good morning, Daylen ~

Was that too weird, the nomad thing? *smile* I have this idea that the survivor was mad and went to the Authorities whining, like you said.  Like that might gain him favor with the Volturi.

It's always good to be concerned about the divide and conquer strategy....  *dark chuckle*

As to what will happen... That was the epilogue and the story of From the Wings is really over. The following outtake was written as payment for a bet and wasn't originally intended to be in the story at all.

But. That is likely not the last we'll be hearing from my AU. ;-)

Thank you so much for reading!

So relieved that they made it, albeit some literally in a few pieces... I do wonder how that use of Lily's power drained her/affected her though?

I'm torn between looking forward to the Epi and not looking forward, since it's the last part, barring outtakes, of the story lol
