Mid-30s guy with an addiction for fan fiction presently, and a slew of unfinished writing in my file cabinet and computer that I never seem to manage to complete full stories. Plots and bits and pieces, sure, but start-to-finish stories still elude me.
Aside from that I'm always over-thinking things, have a science background but love my fiction books... and I guess I'm a twi-guy being here as much as I am lately :S (I own the series and The Host as well). Also a fan of David Eddings and Clive Cussler.
Just starting an Education degree that'll eventually send me out to Middle and Secondary schools to teach math and science (mostly biology, probably).
Oh and my friends just gave me an Edward doll from the Barbie range (he sparkles! lol they didn't realise it at the time either) My Twi-diction is kind of a running joke for them, but their nice enough about it :)

Title: Chapter 22: Contact
ok now I'm thinking Emmett needs to take Edward to the gym for the guy-machismo thing and lose some of the frustration that's building up in him.
Although getting some dedicated music time runs a close second...
The meeting coming up should be interesting, especially with Bella going along for the ride.
Author's Response: Edward should have gone to the punching bags that they had set up for Bella back when they were all living in Forks. ;)

Title: Chapter 23: The Sperm Donor
oh wow! I have to admit I was doing that hissing/holding breath thing when Bella ran over and got kicked in the head for her troubles.
I can sort of understand Edward pushing his luck like that, though again with Bella present? It could've got worse without her, I guess.
I'm not convinced we've seen the last of Ed Sr, even with his upbringing, he presumably would've had access to counselling and medications to help get his condition under control - though I know from experience with various friends that you get out of it what you put in. The meds only really "work" if you're diligent about taking them and talking with your doctor about the effects. The most common thing I've heard from friends is they don't like the "fuzziness/disconnection" that comes sometimes, the science still isn't exact for all of this but we spend so much time being told that the doctor "knows" how to help us that we often don't go into the detail needed for them TO help.
I'm looking forward to some happy reunions with the rest of the group now :) - and in the darker corners of my imagination am kind of dreading Ed Sr stealing our girl's Lullaby composition as his own to get his big break :P Hopefully I'm borrowing craziness at that point though lol
(I finally caught up on all the new chapters! :) Author's Response: It's going to sound weird, because I wrote the story, but i really questioned Edward goading his father on. I hate to say it, but he kind of brought it on himself. DON'T get me wrong, I love Edward to bits, and I really feel for what he went through, but I couldn't convince him not to spur on his father, especially with Bella nearby. I really think that for the first time, Edward was only thinking about himself, and it's unfortunate that Bella got caught in the crossfire.
Now, Bella going along with him also raised an alarm for me. I really wanted Carlisle to go with him, but it's true, Ed Sr. would have caught sight of Carlisle and it would have been over.
Ed Sr. mentions that while he was in prison he learned to control the demon, but I think once you're out in the real world, a lot of what you learn flies out the window. In a controlled environment like prison, having a steady schedule, medication, therapy, would lull him into believing that he was fine. If he doesn't uphold his mental maintenance when he's released, odds are that he'll relapse.
You're right about there not be an exact science to the med end of things. I know from personal experience. *shudders*
Ed Sr.'s POV is coming up and I'm warning you now that his thought processes are far from normal.

Title: Chapter 24: Daddy Dearest
hmmm... I think "uncomfortably tense" is the best way I can describe that chapter. Ed Sr is still able to recognise that the things he does are wrong, but lacks the ability to decide to stop just one little thing, like drinking, to correct things.
Seomthing you mentioned before, that he did spend part of his time in prison getting help for his problems. However, it was in an already tightly controlled environment, and he didn't really have the skills to stick with it once he got out and had to make the decision for himself.
Performing in a bar environment since his release certainly wouldn't be helping (surrounded by alcohol, drunks, and other people with too similar problems); his options are severely limited due to his past, though he still has the power to choose a path out.
Ed Sr seems to see his not hitting anyone since Liz died as a success - when the truth is more likely that he's been surrounded by people that would not only hit back if he did, but hit harder, something he never had to worry about with Liz or Edward.
It's frustrating that he can see the path out in his own mind, but it's so clouded over and drowned out by all the negativity in his head, he can't act on it.
It doesn't excuse his actions, but fleshes out the background that created him, and the monster within that any "nice" part of Ed Sr is constantly overwhelmed by.
A small part of me hopes for some eventual redemption, but it doesn't really seem possible at this point.
Hopefully, Edward is able to get his own anger under control without scaring Bella too much more than he already has, his chances are far better than his donor's. :) Author's Response: Ed Sr is a complex and frustrating creature. You're right, he can see the path in his own mind, but it's severely clouded and without the controlled environment it's hard for him to stay on the right one. I think that "the demon" has a tight grip on him and he finds it hard to fight it.
Redemption? We'll see.

Title: Chapter 25: Don't Worry, Be Happy
hehe Emmett's really excited to be a dad! Even if the past has made him somewhat paranoid, at least he's turned it to good use and read up a lot about it. Plus, I think Rose is completely turned on by that preparedness :)
It's difficult to see B&E so stressed at various points, but they are managing to keep connected to each other.
Alice is going to be SO mad at the girls (locks jaw to prevent laughing)
Rose's intended solution might be something we'd say "careful what you wish for" - Alice's hyper combined with pregnancy hormones? ;) Author's Response: LOL! I can't imagine a pregnant Alice. I really can't. It frightens me. ;)

Title: Chapter 26: Party On!
ohh little Emmett/Rose is on the way!! Loved the way the guys were all a little bit Sapward hehe
I think best line goes to Alice though, "et tu, Bella?"
I wonder, is Alice feeling particularly left out though with both Bella and Rose having this whole experience separate from her... and perhaps getting left out of the baby room decorating hurt more than we're aware?
Alice is happy for them to be sure, but also sad that it's something she's not up to yet?
Author's Response: I think that Alice is more worried about being left out of the baby shopping than anything. A baby wouldn't really fit into her life at this point in time.
She hasn't let me know that she's overly upset about not being pregnant too. I'm sure she'd have been stomping around in my head if she was. ;)

Title: Chapter 27: IT'S A---
ok that was an awesome chapter/outtake/whatever!! :)
Welcome to the world, little Swan
Emmett and Rose are both going to have a tough time cleaning up the language hehe
Just a little bit concerned about Bella seeming overly pale to everyone though, if people other than Edward are noticing, does it make it more worth checking up on? Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it, Daylen. It was fun to write. I think Em's going to be a great dad.
Bella will see Dr. Dimitri in the next chapter and they'll get to the bottom of her problem.

Title: Chapter 29: Hormonal Horrors
First, before I forget, I've been thinking that Edward could get Bella one of those digital art tablets that she could use whilst having to endure the bed rest. He does enjoy spoiling her, and it would be a somewhat different medium for her to learn to use whilst being frustrated out of her mind otherwise :)
Anyways, enjoyed the chapter - I've had the (amusement/misfortune?) to be in the company of pregnant women and new mothers having a very similar discussion to that of the yoga class. Hmm... haven't thought about that in a long time :)
Author's Response: Bwaa ha ha ha! Made you think about it!!!
I'm feeling evil tonight. ;) Sorry to take it out on you.

Title: Chapter 28: Perfect
whoops - skipped a chapter there, sorry :S
Hmm still the same thing to say about beating the frustration of bed rest.
Great fun to see Jasper, Emmett and Edward pretty much talking the same as the women would've been in Rose's room hehe
Oh, but Emmett's Declaration to Lily was probably the best part of it all - and yeah, I'm channeling my own Sapward a bit there :) Author's Response:
Aww, Daylen, channel away, buddy, channel away. We all could use a little Sapward.
I love Big Daddy Emmett. ;) He gives me the warm and fuzzies.

Title: Chapter 30: An Expensive Lemon
There were a few points I was holding my breath against something potentially bad happening, but thankfully it was in vain :)
Edward really sets the bar high for himself sometimes (in a good way), though we all know Bella isn't necessarily expecting him to top his previous best every moment hehe
hmm I wonder why Jacob and Leah are out of contact for now?
Oh, and the Haiti compilation truly is an amazing effort by all involved, and it's good to hear you're at least getting 6 hr blocks (or so) of stability :) Author's Response: I didn't want to give anyone too much heartfail in this chapter...LOL!
Edward sets the bar for any human being on the damn planet. Really though, sometimes he's just too perfect. Hello Perfectward.
Jake and Leah will be making an appearance in the next chapter. :)
I was FLOORED by the Haiti compilation. It's a mammoth document that I am gladly going to lose myself in this weekend. 107yearoldvirgin's piece was HILARIOUS! I adore her...she's a fantastic writer and a wonderful person, and I look forward to loving more writers as I work my way through it.

Title: Chapter 31: Fa La La La La
I have to say I was kind of expecting a girl, but there's nothing wrong with a boy. Though it's widely touted that we're err chromosomally challenged, having that shrivelled Y ;)
Emmett Claus was pretty funny, and the gift for Sophie was amazing - showing where Sapward came from really ;)
Just hoping Bella recovers properly - things still feel dicey for some reason - I've been told I'm overly empathic at the strangest times though, so it's probably just me :S
Author's Response: *giggle* shrivelled Y...*snort*
Yes, Sapward is deeply rooted in Esme, so the gang can blame her for his wonderfully sweet, endearing, and caring ways. Sapward was not fully a product of biology. ;)
Try not to worry too much.

Title: Chapter 32: A Peanut By Any Other Name
Another great chapter! Sad to hear we're nearing the end, though it's been a great ride. Hmm... in the sense that it's had strong characters and happy endings, and such, not that I've necessarily enjoyed the pain suffered by our beloved family.
Loved Emmett's description of Edward's breakdown after the birth. I kind of shared the thought that Edward could have said things differently, and I certainly felt my own level of wanting to smack him upside of the head. But I think he reacted out of his greatest fears. Bella is literally his world, air, lifeforce really, and vice versa for her need for Edward.
The intensity of the birth, all the troubles leading up to it, and Edward's own knowledge of how many things could go wrong, then hearing that flat-line go on for anything longer than a few seconds - it's actually kind of incredible he managed any speech at all.
Having said all of that, I'm looking forward to B&E&N getting settled into a regular family life... and would it be overly corny of me to entertain the thought of Sophie staying in touch with the Cullens enough that little Esme and Nathan become something of an item in the future? ;)
Oh and I'm curious about it, I'm not sure if the muffin recipe is a good idea - I'd probably eat the whole batch myself and then have to make more, and eat more, and... well, I'm sure you see where that's going :) Author's Response: Emmett is the voice of all things we want to say but won't/don't/can't. ;) I was glad when he expressed his annoyance at Edward's proclamation, because it was cruel. I guess on some level that would make me cruel. Damn. ;)
I've had a lot of interest from people in picking up the story a few years down the road, when the kids are older. I suppose everyone has been so invested in the arrival of these kids that it would be natural to want to know what happens to them later. I'm not saying no, but I've got another story on the go right now and will post it here as soon as Road Maps is finished. I've got 17 chapters up already on FF, and I'm still writing it. Maybe when Encore is done I'll try my hand at picking these guys up. I promised myself that I would abstain from writing ff for a while to dedicate time to my original fic, which has taken a dusty shelf since I discovered ff. ;) I have also been plotting out an Emmett fic in my head. He can be very pushy when he wants to be.
As for the muffin recipe, I'm happy to report that they are from a diabetic cookbook, so they are low in sugar and fat. :) They were my dad's favourite muffins. I made a batch last weekend and they were delicious. Just let me know if you want it. I'll e-mail it later.

Title: Chapter 33: Homeward Bound
ahh that chapter was soo sweet until that last line... it was almost like that rollercoaster high just before the drop into a darkened tunnel :S
Hoping Edward doesn't blow a gasket, though I'm kind of expecting he will :P
Author's Response: I didn't mean to drop you guys off the top of Space Mountain. ;) It was the only organic way to end the chapter. I know, what's so organic about a cliffie, especially after I went on and on ad nauseum about how much I hate them. I am a ff hypocrite of the worst kind, I'm afraid. ;)

Title: Chapter 34: RUN!
Such a relief to see that drama over with (for a while, at least) Though it's so hard after all this time with these characters to see them get knocked around again :P
Is it weird I'm thinking that Bella and/or Edward may not want to keep that new chair after Ed Sr having his moment in it?
I'd be hard pressed, myself, to hold onto items that might trigger overly negative memories. I've certainly done it, but with the never ending cycle of debate on whether I should have or not.
Depends on how easily you can put those things from your mind, and they did manage to have some happy memories there before Ed showed up.
Sad to see we're almost done, but I'm looking forward to Encore :) Author's Response: It's not weird, but I can assure you that they keep the chair. :) It will appear in the next chapter. I think they have enough good memories from it to negate the negative ones. I'm with you, though, with associating negative memories to objects and either tossing them or wondering why the hell I didn't toss them.
Yes, the major drama is over with. Hallelujah. With only one chapter left and then the epilogue...there's no room for more monsters.

Title: Chapter 35: Normal
It's a relief to see Edward's voice coming back, although I admit to chuckling quite a bit at Bella's first comments on the being mute front hehe
It was nice of the family in general to give Ed Sr some kind of burial, I'd imagine it would have been somewhat cathartic to have that ability to really close the door on that part of their lives.
I wonder though, Edward "might" gain some relief against the "dying in his sleep" problem when he thinks about the fact that Ed Sr was tasered and drugged into a catatonic state until he passed... it's possible (since it seems to vary how aware someone is in those conditions) that Ed Sr had enough awareness to realise that he had no control over his body anymore. He would've been completely trapped in his own head, with no physical ability to harm others.
On a brighter note - B&E got some alone time!! I'm kind of surprised Carlisle and Esme didn't hear them that night. Hmm... perhaps they were "distracted" themselves? hehe
Author's Response: LOL! C&E are closet randy folk, I think. ;)
When I realized that Ed Sr. was going to die, I really wondered how Edward would handle it. His outburst was very uncharacteristic of him, but you know, as the writer, it made me feel good to write it. But it was totally his choice for the burial. In my mind, Ed Sr. would have gone to a potter's field and that would have been that, but Edward is a much kinder soul than I am, I guess, not to mention, I think he was finally getting the closure that he needed.
I can't see how Ed Sr.'s death was peaceful at all, but I can understand how Edward might think that it was unjust. Bella said it best when she talked about Ed Sr. had probably never had a day of peace in his life, what with the warring between him and his voices.
Will get the epilogue in for validation tonight when I get off work...I hope that people are okay with it. :)

Title: Chapter 36: Epilogue-Bittersweet Symphony
awwwwww great place to finish it really. I mean, I kind of feel like Jake and Leah and their boys could get their own story/outtake in a way, even a short 2-chapter sort of thing, assuming one of them started talking.
The set up of the Foundation was a great idea - something I could potentially have seen them doing in the future even without the insurance payout. Bella would've wanted to do something like that with her art sales I think.
It's been a great ride across the two stories, I couldn't help but think that Bella's comments on nearly being done with editing, and ready for a break (however brief) from it, as being something echoed by yourself (and Alicedances) after such a long journey :)
Wow... I really let the ramble out of the cage that sentence-paragraph, my high school English teachers would kill me if they knew :)
Looking forward to Encore. Author's Response: Thanks, Daylen. I wanted to close the story up, but not seal the door. ;) We'll have to see what happens after Encore is done (and really, my original fic should get some TLC, and I am part of a local writing group and we're working with a group of artists on a collaborative project and I have a month to write a piece on modern myth...not sure what I'm going to do...if you have any ideas, drop me an e-mail, eh? LOL!)
I can't wait for you to read Encore. I'm actually really excited to get the first chapter posted.
Man, was it ever hard to hit the complete button on this story!
I'm rambling too...my "ooh shiny" pills have yet to kick in this morning and I'm a little scattered.

Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - Remembering
Things will get really interesting if Bella and Edward get around to comparing notes on her dreams... perhaps even allow Edward to accept Bella's affections more easily :) Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing.
Bella's dream in this chapter leads us into Chapter 7 where Edward and Elizabeth finally come face to face but not before Edward has a fit of jealousy about someone in Elizabeths thoughts and almost leaves Chicago. (A little teaser for you there)
Bella's dreams play a huge part in guiding us (and Edward) through this story. Who knows what he might hear in Bella's sleep if he ever gets acclimatised to her blood!!!!

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - Rejoice
hehe even though I know this must end badly (since we're flashing back from Bella's time), it's still fun to see Liz so relieved that Esme's with Carlisle :) Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. Always great to get a male perspective. Well, Esme is really not much older than Edward so I thought it would be interesting to write something in that regard. I've started writing Chapter 11 which starts off with the waltz and Edward comparing how he felt learning to dance with Esme and now waltzing with Elizabeth. Hmm maybe I will do an out-take of the dance lessons from Carlisle's POV (could be interesting). I am spending a while here with Edward and Elizabeth because essentially it is their love story - her love for Edward so powerful that her soul seeks him out even after she has gone.

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - Radiant
hehe had to chuckle at Edward's "accidental" tripping over the front step... kind of wish Bella had been there to see that!! Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review. Chapter 12 is well underway and there is a lot more interplay between Edward and Emmett. Emmett has become Bella's no.1 fan and manages to embarrass Edward in front of her a lot.
