“I said, No, not at all,” he told me, yelling loudly as if I was deaf, but I’d forgotten the question he was answering. Then, he leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “I’ve got the best seat in the house.”

“Oh.” I smiled at him, biting my lip. It sounded as if Edward was flirting with me!

I looked around excitedly and noticed Alice observing us. Damn, I hated the feeling that everything I did with him was being scrutinized now, so I glared at her a bit to give her the hint.

She grimaced and mouthed, “Sorry” before standing and talking to Rosalie.

“Okay!” Rose shouted. “We’re going dancing. You coming, guys?” She looked between Edward and me.

“Ummmm, no thanks,” I said, as Edward shook his head no.

She rolled her eyes as Alice stepped toward me and leaned forward, her mouth near my ear. In a low voice she said, “I forgot to tell you that I think Edward feels the same way about you.”
