Title: Chapter 75: Chapter 75- Just Like Any Other Day
Okay, so I've been reading this virtually non-stop for about three days now - and stayed up waaaaay too late doing so - but I thought I'd better pause at some point and give you a review.
Woah. Really enjoying the ride, though it's been pretty hectic! I love the way you've managed to craft this story whilst still managing to respect Rob as a human being. I also love the way you've weaved your story through "real time" events.
Now I hope Jen gets Rob back into those sexspenders sometime soon ...
Sounds like you're a girl after my own heart: Rob, Brit Boys and boutique beers. I was wandering through our local grog shop this morning and spied some Newcastle Brown Ale, so I grabbed a few with this story in mind ;)
(I'm Australian by the way, and we have a pretty cool artisan and craft beer scene happening - though getting your hands on it can be difficult depending on where you live; damn bogans and their XXXX and VB taking up all the shelf space!!!)

I bloody love this story Steph. Love the playfulness and sensuality of these early chapters. It makes me smile, which is exactly what I need today.

Oh this chapter breaks my heart every time.
I can't imagine the suffering Jen is experiencing. To have been convinced she could never have children, and then lose a baby she conceived, against all odds, with the man she loves more than anything. There are no words.
Summary: 
This is the Companion story for Need To Escape, told in Robert's point of view.
This story will make better sense if you read at least the first ten chapters of Need To Escape before starting this one.
The chapters of On the Threshold will parallel NTE.

Finding an available table, we sit down while we decide what it is we want to eat. Naturally, Alice keeps the conversation flowing. “How did everything go last night? You didn’t call, so I assume it went well?”
My face scrunches up, and Alice’s expression falls. “Oh no. What happened?”
I begin to tell her how I found Jake lurking outside my old room. She was a little hurt that I didn’t call her . . . until I explain how it wasn’t anything personal; I just didn’t want to talk about everything that had happened between Jake and me.
“So what did you do?” she asks.
“I called Edward,” I explain. “I guess I figured maybe he could act as some sort of buffer, and was hoping Jake wouldn’t talk about what he and Leah were doing behind my ba—” I stop talking instantly when my eyes find Jake less than thirty feet away. I’m immediately irritated, and I can feel the fury over his unwavering persistence beginning to bubble in the pit of my stomach.
Alice turns around to see what’s distracted me, scowling the minute she sees the source of my ire. “What the hell is his deal?” she demands, glaring daggers at him.
He’s just standing there, which confuses me a little. Up until yesterday, he’d have come over to try and make me forgive him. All of a sudden, he turns on his heel and takes off, but something still lingers in my memory. Then it hits me like a . . . well, like a fist to the face.
