Summary:  You know those fics where Edward doesn't come back and Bella forgets about him and five seconds later she's in bed with Jacob and none of it makes any damn sense?
Yeah, this isn't one of them.
This story picks up from the moment in New Moon when Jacob has driven Bella home after the cliff diving incident, right before he catches the scent of Alice. Only in this telling, Alice wasn't looking, so there's no sudden appearance at Bella's house, no Rosalie calling Edward and sending him on a suicidal mission to Volterra, and no reason for Bella to do anything but believe that Edward didn't love her anymore. This is simply a story of what might have happened if everyone stayed mostly in character and Edward's return was delayed. Yes, delayed. Because we all know that he was "this close" to coming back on his own anyhow.
So what would have happened if Bella had tried to move on with her life? Would she have found happiness with Jacob? And would Edward be too late?

you really are evil huh? placing worryingthe hell out of us all on that list! :) Glad to see it was Quil and had nothing to do with Jake and Bella. Amazing as always, and whil I know the purpose of girls day I am very interested to see what its like to go shopping with Leah for the afternoon...something tells me she'd kick my ass! I was highly skeptical of this pairing when I first found your story. However, this has been extremly well done, as if Emmett isn't cute enough this makes you fall in love with him even more. Very well written, good pacing, and a very nice smut to content ratio. Can't wait to read more!

So, I just saw new moon this weekend, and I really think you did a great job on Emily and Sam. I barely remeber them from the book (also been a year lol) but you wrote them and kept them in the characters i saw last night. Amazing job and I can't wait to get home from work tonight to continue with Breath Again!
Summary:
Edward left Bella, forcing his family to stay away from her. Six years onwards, the Cullens are a mess without Bella and Emmett decides to get away from his angry, angst ridden family and let loose. What he finds in the meanest biker bar in Seatle will send shockwaves through his entire family.

Thank you again for such an amazing chapter. When she ever asked him to dance I was thinking "oh here we go!" Nice surprise that it so far has been innocent. I can't wait to read more! Oh, and I also collect Willow Tree figurines, they are very sweet and innocent looking.

Fantastic story. I never read one where the Cullens were human and enjoyed it! Also, I love seeing Bella with Jasper, as much as I love him and Alice together I'm never that impressed with Edward whos to controling and needs to chill. tissues would have been a very good idea. i think i was crying by about the halfway point! very well done, it really does capture the reality of what would happen if bella was allowed to age and they had to deal with the consequences of that. Well done! Author's Response: Good morning, willow17pz ~
I am not usually one to say, Watch out, this is a tear jerker!, but over on FFn, I had people tell me it really should come with a warning of that nature.
I wanted it to be a story that showcased Jacob's love for Bella as well as -- as you said -- a possible consequence of humanity. Things like this happen and even though it was early, it is a natural consequence.

So cool that your aunt had that experiecne (although I'm sure not so cool at the time). I did a little googling and found the military times articles about the medals she recieved (I'm a history teacher so this kind of thing gets me a bit giddy lol).
Also, amazing story, I'm absolutly loving it! Author's Response: I remember going to Washington DC for the ceremony when she was awarded her medals by President Reagan. We weren't at the White House when she was actually given the medals by the President, but there was a special ceremony at the Pentagon I remember going to. (I was pretty young. Mostly, I remember getting car sick and throwing my guts up on the way home!) I have no idea why the nurses were given medals by the President then, but I remember it was this big thing. I should ask my dad. We've got a picture of her being presented with the medal by the President. She's got her arms folded in front of her in both pictures. She weighed 80ish pounds when she was rescued, and the dress she was wearing is in storage in the basement at the Smithsonian. I remember she talked about running across the beach carrying a baby in her arms during the raid that rescued the pow's.
