I really appreciate your updating before Christmas, but am REALLY confused. Edward sounds like a totally different guy than the one you painted all the previous chapters. And when was he in Maine? Why would he visit Charlie if he and Bella weren't in a relationship?

Author's Response: Go back to chapter 2 (Unwanted memories)...Edward and Bella visited Charlie while they were dating, before things turned bad.
And isn't that how the world works -- people look one way from one person's perspective, and yet may be very different? You'll just have to see...
