Finally a little more insight into that which is Edward.  That was a pretty bold move when he grabbed Bella and ran to the water with her.   It was very spontanous and risky.  I wish he could have fared better in that it could have helped to break the ice a bit but I certainly understand her reaction.

I see that he is going to talk to Rose in the next chapter which makes me happy.  She won't sugar coat anything and that is pretty much what he needs.

Before I forget .... I am very happy he has made a phone call to set a move home into motion.

So I would venture a guess that Edward is the cause of the hole in her heart.  Must be Rose and Alice sensed the change in the atmosphere.

Tyler seemed like a piece of work.  For what it's worth I am glad he is gone and hope we don't see much more of him.

This story has been on my alert list forever over at ff.net.  I am so glad to finally get the chance to start it.

I am glad that Seth is not a romantic interest for Bella however I am glad they have become friends.

Edward is home.  I do look forward to more of that backstory.  His ears sure did perk up at the mention of Bella and Seth.

And why are these horses dying and having a hard time with birthing or what did you call it, foaling?  It's almost as if someone is behind it.  Yeah, can you tell I have read several mysteries lately?

So what is up with Rose?  What does she know that Bella doesn't know?  Did I miss something?

Edward was out of line and cruel to Bella at dinner.   I would have thought he would call to apologize after his talk with Carlisle.

So what is wrong with the horses?  And James, is he a vet?  Why is covering it up or who is he covering for.  You don't suppose the Denali's have anything to do with this do you?  At least Edward has agreed to look into it but he doesn't seem to hold much hope in finding any wrong doing.

Holy Moly.  So James did miss something.   Well I don't think he missed it I think he just left out some facts.  But why would he do that? Jeez thoughts like that make me think he is working with someone from the inside.  Tyler would be the perfect suspect but I don't think so.  I am thinking someone more trusted like Laurent.  LOL!  Do I read too much fanfiction or what?  Hell I am putting all the bad guys into crate while I put the good ones in another.  But here is a theory for you.....

James, Laurent and someone from the Denali farm are working together to bring down the Swan farm.  They arrange for Tanya to be in bed with Bella's husband because he is expendable and will throw the Swan's off their mark.  While Bella is distracted they get "inside" for what they need.  Maybe land?  Maybe water?

Okay so here is what I want you to do for me.  Laugh. A lot.  Then forget what I just typed.   And bring Bella and Edward together again.

Now the campout may be just what is necessary for the two of them to start talking again in a civil manner.  Maybe show that one never stopped loving the other.  Btw, more of their history will be greatly appreciated.

Oh, before I go, I loved the talk Renee had with Bella when she asked Bella is she was sure that Tyler was the one.

Well if I didn't jump the gun.  I was so happy to see that Bella didn't steal away like a thief in the night and that Emmett caught up to her so she was not alone.

I love this Seth.  I sure hope you find him a girlfriend before the story is over.

Okay, so this time I want to hold Bella and tell it will all work out but girl you've got to trust that man and know he won't hurt you again.  But alas this is only a story and I can not.  Lovin Seth for pointing her in the right direction.

The wedding went very well.  Everything came off without a hitch.

Hoping to finish the Twilighted chapters tomorrow.

Aww...Bella has had a hard row to hoe. Seth is awesomesauce, even if he is my little own creation. I'm kind of crushing on him myself. Thank you!!

Pretty important chapter.  It has been confirmed that Lacy was poisoned.  I knew it had to be something like that but WHY?  What is the agenda?  And will they be able to find the supplement bottle?  Guess we'll know tomorrow.

And what is a chapter when the reader is not squirming in her seat?  I can hardly contain myself enough to leave a review but it would be rude not to.  Is this enough?  I really want to get on with the talk.

Finally.  The Talk went so much better than I anticipated,  fewer tears and whatever.  No matter the circumstances I can't help but believe it was harder for her to continue to shut him out.  Throw into the mix his confession and viola there you have it = a forever kind of love.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this chapter.

Little bit of a fan girl giggle going on here.  Love the fluff.  It was so much fun.  I wonder if anyone from the ranch may have seen what all is going on between the two of them?  Don't you know they will be happy for them but I am certain Emmett will be keeping a big brother eye on their progress as well.

Hmmmm.  Do you think it is possible that the supplement will not be found?  And do you think that someone else other that family *coughLaurentcough* might be lurking in the shadows watching and listening?

Out of curiosity is the Swan ranch anything like King Ranch, maybe a little smaller.

Can she ever learn to trust him with her heart again?  She wants to.  She wants him to make her believe.

When Tayler was there at the restroom I swear to you I did not breathe until she got away.  And the whole thing with Tanya was pretty disgusting.  I have to agree with Edward, "she is one vapid bitch".  I notice that Tyler was silent in the presence of Edward and Tanya.  Must not have wanted to get his ass handed to him on a platter.  I did not care much for Tanya's comment about how they would see her in Vegas.  Is there any chance that Edward can get back home early?  That would certainly earn him some brownie points in the good graces arena.

Come on, darlin', let's go home.  Do you have any idea what that does to my insides when Edward says something like that?  Talk about tingly.

One more to go here ......

Gah.  The flowers, the coffee, the morning treats.  How can she doubt that he plans to stay around.  I especially like how we see she is happier.  It is as if she has a little extra spring in her step as does he.

Bella's meltdown is so understandable.  And as you told Rose and Emmett's story I could not help but feel bad for them as well.   We've all known those people in life that have had to endure so much.  It just doesn't seem fair does it.

I will say this, with a bit of a smile, I do believe Edward has finally convinced her that he is here to stay.  I hope so anyway.

You keep throwing all these suspects at us.  So far my list includes -

  • james
  • victoria
  • tyler
  • laurent
  • tanya

Sooner or later I have to come up with the right one, right?

Tanya is one evil bitch in this story.  I think I may have already asked but what is so great about the Swan land.  Mineral rites?  Oil?  But those wouldn't necessarily be included with the sale of property.  And does she want the Cullen property as well. And how would Tanya know about the poisoning of the animals?

Guess these questions will give me something to think about while we wait for Edward to get home.

This Alice and my sister could be great friends.  She is a free spirit and marches to her own drum.  And she sees Edward as somebody good for her sister.  I thought so too.  I was left with the impression that he was able to take her to her inner self.  Does that make sense?  Anyway I really like the feel of this story.

And  I thought the last chapter was filled with with hope.  Pshaw.  It was nothing compared to this one.  I read this last night and my heart is still fluttering!

I wondered how things would go at Charlies house.  Charlie was so happy to see everyone.  But I think the thing that made my heart happiest was that he didn't seem to suspect anything and being a police that comes second nature.  This leads me to believe that Bella's heart is changing and she is falling in love with Edward all over again.

We are seeing more and more little changes as their dynamic shifts chapter to chapter.  In this chapter the walk down memory lane with the prom picture was so sweet.  Prom was a milestone for them in that it changed each of their lives forever.  I sighed.  When it came time to go to bed and he lifted the covers and she felt the weight on the mattress she smiled.  So did I.

Rosalie provided quite the comic relief for what chapter would not be complete without a meddlesome friend?  For a minute I thought their cover would be blown when Bella snapped back but alas you kept that from happening.  Nice save, btw.

As the chapter continues we find ourselves in Port Angeles.  Naturally no trip would be complete without a visit to the bookstore.   I figured Edward would come looking for her, he would tell she already has 12 copies of Wuthering Heights and after a passionate discussion about the characters he would convuince her to let him pay for the new copy and they would be on their way to meet the others.

I did not expect a short cut to the club or the men in the alley.  Luckily for Bella, Edward was close enough to quickly don his shining armor.  Girlie girl that I am I may have squeed just a bit as he rode in on his great white steed prepared to do battle for the damsel in distress.   The scuffle aside, Edward's reaction afterward told all of us everything we needed to know about his undying love for Bella.  Perhaps she sees this too.

Maybe there is hope afterall.......

Sandra

Author's Response:

Aw, Sandra, your reviews truly are amazing. Honestly it means a lot that a reader sits and writes such a detailed review, so thank you. I am really glad you are enjoying the story and feel all the emotions of the characters. I, myself, love me some night in shining armor Edward. Glad you also liked the trip to Forks because I thought that was important. Little changes are definitely occuring with these two. Next chapter is a change from the angst--much lighter so I hope you enjoy it. I already sent it in to be validated. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!!

I skimmed through this chapter late last night.  It was still on my mind when I awoken.  This glimpse through Edward's eyes is filled with so much...Love.  Jealousy.  Understanding.   Comfort.  Nervousness, maybe a little anxiety.  Questions.  Hope.  And whatever else might come up.  He was all over the page and it took me awhile to keep up with him but once I got a grasp on what he was working toward it wasn't so hard see where he was going.  Then I had to laugh at myself because, duh, he told us early on that he needed to have a talk, "The Talk", with Bella.

As he watched he sleep the love he felt was obvious.  It was almost as if you could feel the love swell within him with each breath he took.  As Bella slept with her brow furrowed I wondered if she was back in the alley frightened or in the future without Edward.  Each one an unpleasant place to be.  But the past is just that, it is past.  The future, well there is always hope for the future.

But about that future.  What can it possibly hold for Edward if Bella is not a part of it.  He loves her so much.  He can't let her go without at least trying.

All things considered they had a good day. I'll tell you what, rather than recap their day I will make a list of things that filled me with hope of their future.

  • He offers to let Bella drive and she laughs and asks if he is kidding thn she laughs again at his excitment of driving the car
  • While talking about the night before each one admits they still care about the other
  • Margaret asks when they are getting married.  Of course Edward explains Alice Cullen is the bride.  BUT. the hopeful thing is that they appear to be in love enough to get married.  Two people that do not like one another could not have pulled that off without some serious acting skills.  The playful banter after they left the flower shop did not go unnoticed either!
  • Now the Save-the-Date place with the flirty girls could have gone bad had James not come in.  The pot can't very well call the kettle black if it is just as black now can it? *raises eyebrow*  If snickered when Bella became quiet as I am somewhat certain she understood the meaning in Edward's words when he told her to remember it worked both ways.
  • And the ice cream.  Now the ice cream was a nice touch.  Followed by the walk.  I mean who can go wrong with a nice leisure walk?

So here I sit, wearing a smile of course.  I am about to hit the Submit button, "The Event" on my mind .....

Sandra

Reviewer: mscope Signed
Date: November 09, 2009 Title: Chapter 7: Games

First of all I read the first couple chapters, well I don't know when.  I thought I'd put it on alert but guess I did not.  Hopefully the latter has been amended.

I can not imagine finding my husband in a comprimising situation like that but I think most of us have experienced women throwing themselves at our guys at one time or another.  That shit always pissed me off so I can understand Bella's dilema.

On the other hand my heart hurts for Edward because he really see's no other woman and in all honesty I think he would have more trouble moving on.  I am not saying that Bella will seek male companionship once the papers are signed as I can imagine she would be resigned to live her life alone with her books whereas he will always question the what if's.

Since we get a glimpse of both sides of the coin it is pretty obvious that each one cares deeply for the other.  It is just easier for them to deny their feelings rather than face the rejection.

I was ready to send Emmett to anger managment classes at first.  I was glad he talked to Edward but did not think it necessary to manhandle him.  On the other hand I could see he did what he thought he had to to get Edward to listen.  The whole get 'em drunk and they'll fuck and realize what they are missing made me laugh.  Drastic times call for drastic measures right?!!  Of course the kicker is that is seems to have worked in that they are talking and seeing that maybe just maybe.....

When they got in bed and in the last chapter my heart was both happy and sad.  There for awhile I thought the story would take a turn as they began to talk about the good times in their marriage and we would watch as they began to repair the damage.  Then I realized they are not ready for that yet and we have more heart fail in the horizon - the old "things have to get worse before they get better".

The one thing they seem to agree on is that they will do whatever is necessary to keep from taking away from Alice and Jasper's happiness.  For that, I too am thankful, would just be wrong.  In doing so they they will find their way back to one another.

And to help things along I've donned by red shoes and begun clicking the heels together.  I do believe in an HEA, I do believe......

Sandra

Author's Response:

Hehe aw that last part made me smile. Thank you so much, Sandra, for such a heartfelt and thorough review. I'm so happy you see both sides to this and understand that they are progressing, but they cannot fix their problems overnight and the most important thing right now--like you said--is to let Alice and Jasper have their wedding and be happy. Emmett and Rosalie are both going over the top right now, but they are doing it out of love. I'm glad you liked the drunken sex--I just felt that was SO something Emmett and Rosalie would think of. Thank you for reading and for your patience and feedback. Don't worry, it is heartbreaking to read at times, but fun times are also ahead!

With Love,

Forever17 :)

I have to say that this is one of the saddest yet hopeful chapters I have ever read.  Does that even make sense?

Edward's admission to himself ~

I wasn’t sure what was happening, but things were definitely not the same as they had been the first day we had arrived in Seattle. It was this bittersweet sensation—hot and cold. Amazing and horrible at the same time. While I enjoyed being near Bella so much, it still killed me that she hadn’t trusted me. And even though I loved having little teasing spouts with her like we used to have, I felt like there was always an underlying anger deep within the both of us, threatening to escape if we were pushed far enough.

In this chapter when they go to the restaurant the female employees literally vie for Edward's attention.  When he outwardly nipped it in the bud they backed off.  I am somewhat certain this did not go unnoticed by Bella.  Had he done this three years ago with Tanya perhaps things would have been different.

What I found equally interesting were Mike and Jessica's reaction to seeing E/B.  Jessica looked right passed Bella whereas Mike looked at Bella head to toe and Edward put a his arm around her and hold her close.   At the same time she did not hesitate to lean in to Edward as if for protection.

Plus when they talked with Mike and Jessica they find that they have everything they had  wanted for their own future.  So how is it that things work for other people but not for them.   That maybe they had everything and were willing to through it all away?

In any event, given the circumstances of the night I believe our "loving" couple have a lot to think about.

Still hearing my ruby slippers.....

Sandra

Author's Response:

It totally makes sense what you said. Things are bad, but the little changes are giving us hope that things might get better soon even though it is hard to read right now. I am glad you mentioned the Mike thing as that is going to be brought up a few chapters from now. Thanks so much for such a hearfelt review. I'm glad you see the subtle changes in Edward and although he can't go back and fix things that have already happened, he can certainly affect what is going on now. Truly amaing review! Thanks so much for the support, Sandra :)

The end here so great that I'll be damned if I can remember much of what I read in this chapter.  Let's see it works both ways,  Night, love.  And a couple other references to love.  And the kiss....I do remember the kiss.  But that big old galoot Emmett pretty much made me forget it all when he told her the kiss seemed real.  *lesigh* It was real, wasn't it?!

So now that Bella has come to a dawning happy tears could easily flow and i giggle.....

I think all of us can feel the change of the current as despair turns to hope.

Shortly into the chapter when Felix called I couldn't help but wonder if he hoped they would miss the deadline giving E/B another 8 months to work it out.

We are seeing more and more subtle changes in the way Bella looks at Edward.  Little touches, lingering moments.  The suntan lotion was a nice touch.

But the little girl.  Bella's unselfish act of heroism was intense as was  Edward's knowing full well that things could have gone the other way in the given situation.  But it is the afterward that stands out the most when she reaches out to Edward and asks him to hold her.  Only too often we have watched Bella deal alone.   The fact that she reached out to Edward in this vulnerable moment shows she trusts him.  I know she will be sleeping due to the medication but I hope that while she is enveloped in her arms she realizes just how very much he still loves her.

*lesigh*

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and for the amazing review. I'm glad you notice the little changes taking place and how Bella is, indeed, reaching out to Edward, even if it is in the smallest way. Thanks for sticking with my story and I hope you like what is to come!

No hate for you here, BUT, I do have the next chapter waiting for me after this review. *snickers*

Girl, this chapter began so great.  The ease of being around one another at the house.  Agreeing to the talk.  Things were even going well at the party.  And then the smut slut shows up and ruins everything.  Well maybe not everything because Bella was smiling through her tears in the end.  Okay, so the chapter ended ended pretty great too.

And just what is Rosalie's scheme this time?  Well I guess once I hit the submit button I will find out.

*lesigh*

I felt bad for Edward in the beginning of the chapter.  I can't help but wonder if Bella faired any better with Rosalie.  And speaking of Rosalie I can't help but giggle at the antics of Rosalie and Emmett.  On the other hand I happy about the outcome.  Those two have to be basking in the glory of their plan right about now.  But the most important message in the chapter is that E/B are on their way to resolving their issues leaving the reader filled with hope of the HEA that is just around the corner.

Sandra

Author's Response:

Rose and Emmett do have the best intensions but I'm afreaid their antics are beginning to come off like the Keystone Kops and hey what can I say I love their enthusiasm.  I am not sure which I like most ... the latest scheme, the fact that it backfired and left them groveling, or the fact that Bella and Edward are going to come up with something of their own.  I'd say let the games begin but they've already started.

You know, all was not fail in the night as Angela and Ben met and well that is an HEA for those two.  Years in the future when they tell their children and grandchildren how they met it will be a fun story to tell.

So Bella and Edward have finally reunited in a moment of passion.  I can't imagine you will get any flaming reviews for that one. *lesigh*

See you in a couple of weeks.

!!!!LOVED THIS CHAPTER!!!!

We knew when the next chapter came to an end the games would begin on E/B behalf.  I never expected it to be so much fun though.  I began to laugh the moment I pictured Rosalie's face when she realized what had happened to her dress.  Emmett's arrest elicited the same reaction.

And while he sat in his jail cell waiting to be "rescued" it was so much fun to read of the further adventures of Rosalie as she ran from one task to the other.

Once Emmett realized he had been had he took it in stride.  Yeah, all right, I may have felt a little bad for Rosalie when she got tears in her eyes but at least she apologized, they both did, to Edward anyway.  I did find it very touching that Emmett went to Rosalie to comfort her and share the blame in all that they had put Edward and Bella through.

When Bella came in and sat on Edward's lap we did see just how hurt she had been by the whole thing.  But more importantly we saw how he lovingly comforted her and that was sigh worthy.

Now about that bath ......
