For Bella, it was love at first sight, and to this day, he still owns her heart. For Edward, he barely knew she existed until a chance encounter brings her into his life and into his heart. Life gets in the way and he breaks her heart. After children, marriages and 10 years have passed, can they find their way to each other again, or is it too late?  She knows she'll never love anyone the way she loves him, but can he ever envision a life with her in it?

Whew!  You had us going there for a minute with Victoria.  The fact that everyone tried so hard to keep Bella outside and away from Edward made it seem so much worse.  But all's well that ends well and I, for one, smile.

Author's Response:

I think in my mind, they didn't want her night to be ruined, while Edward tried to get rid of her.  Smile, smile, smile!!  Thank you!

Hi Dinx ~

Real life has been, well it's been and now I am catching up!  When I saw you had a one shot I had to read it and girl I N.E.V.E.R. read one shots.  I am glad I read this one.  I think I woke the hubs laughing with this one.

Loved the names ... Morning Woods Forest, cabin names and of course Lake Wannalayme ... they were so perfect for six kids at camp.  I went to summer camp once and now I wonder just how much went on behind the scenes with our counselors.  I liked how they all came together to share a summer of love and fun.  But it was more than that.  It was a destined right of passage.  Having grown up on a small lake in a small town we all had that defining summer where we went from young and carefree to being grown up and in love.  I swear it was all in the water.

Author's Response:

Hiiiiii, bb! :D *Tackle hug* I’ve missed you. I hadn’t heard from you in forever and wondered where you went. L I hope all is well. Your reviews are always so sweet and well thought out. (I even mentioned you in my Under the Radar post in the section on reviews) It made me sad when they stopped coming. Real life does take precedence, though. I totally understand that. Believe me!

I’m so glad that you liked the o/s. It was something silly and I had fun writing it. It’s way different from my other story. I liked being able to break away to write some fluff.

It’s so great to hear from you. I hope you’ll be sticking around now. I really have missed you. The next chapter of ALBtY has also been uploaded and is waiting for validation, so it should post soon! You’ll have to let me know what you think. We’re in Edward’s head now. J

"Um, hi.  My name is Bella.  I hate that they have joined our schools together to form a middle school."

"Hey.  My name is Edward.  Me too.  They should have waited until next year when we will be in high school."

When Bella meeets Edward in junior high school, they instantly become friends.  Follow them through their lives as they go through heartbreaks, lost loves, friendships, and drama.  This is actually a true story for the most part.  Will end up being a military story FYI

Rating is just in case for future chapters.

This is cute.  I like how you have captured the tween years in that, for the most part, kids are so unsure of themselves at that point.  Although I am sure had we been sitting at Emmett and Rosalie's table  it would have been different because Emmett is such a people person and knows no strangers.  The initial E/B meeting is quite smooth actually.  Alice sits with ?, Jasper maybe?  I am looking forward to the friendships that will be formed in this year.

Are you sure your Edward is not based on my son?  We had a hell of a time with him and game playing.  And it sounds as if Bella should have listened to Lauren.  What a horrible way to break up.  If I remember correctly the average "going out with" relationship lasts only 2 o 3 weeks in middle school so they lasted a long time by that standard.  This story reminds me of my sons so much at this age and I absolutely love it.

Okay, no more fan girly comparisons.

I am happy that Bella is finally settling in and has made a new friend.  But I was also happy that her old friends continue to contact her daily.  It is so hard to make that kind of move at this age.  You have said that military school will come up and I am wondering if she is going to get into trouble and be sent away.  And if that does happen will she reconnect with an old friend there.

I am really excited to discover the path this story will take.

Edward broke Bella's heart the night she came home, wanting to share the happiest news of their lives. She leaves but stays in the marriage for appearances sake. After years apart Bella has decided that she finally wants to move on.

What will Edward do when he realizes that Bella intends to end their marriage? Fight for her? Or Set her free?

My dearest FD ~

Eh.  A day late.  Yeah .....

Once again I embark upon your story and once again I find myself within in the deepest depth's of Bella's mind.  So truthful, so trustful.  She possesses an innocence and purity of heart.

We see that Bella cannot get Edward out of her mind.  She has tried to move on, she seeks solace in Jack Daniels  to forget.  Ah, but JD does nothing but dull the pain.  It may go away for a short while but when the effects wear off the memories return with a vengeance.  She has saved momentos from happier times, little letters of love that would evoke a smile had the history been different.  How can she move past him?  Even after she flees his face is caught on camera every where he goes.  His life, seen through the eyes of paparrazi vultures, is cast to sell in such a way to bring the highest bid.  Fact or fiction means nothing to them.

Little bits of history are here.  She has ties to the very rich and prominent Volturi's. Here mother has been killed.  She meets Edward who teaches her to love and they were happy.  His father has a tie to the Volturi.  Her father will not attend her wedding.  She becomes pregnant and when she goes home to tell him she finds another woman in her bed.  In this chapter the downward spiral gins to unfold.

We begin as she gathers every bit of strength she can muster to rise from the depths of her hell.  It is best that we hold on as this will certainly be a bumpy ride.

When Bella and Edward hook up at a party their lives quickly become complicated, causing a rift in their close knit circle of friends. Despite the fallout, they can’t stay away from each other. Neither of them are able to admit the depths of their feelings for the other and when Edward has to leave for Italy and Bella realizes she’s attracted to her friend Claire, their already shaky relationship is in danger of falling apart.

You were right in your last author response in that I really did like this chapter.  The whole strip poker thing took me back and again I laughed.   Ya know, sp is a rite of passage of sorts.  But I felt really bad for Bella when Edward and Rosalie ran upstairs afterward.  Later when Rose tells Bella they are moving on and she is somewhat cryptic in her words to Bella about being surprised I have to wonder if Rose knows that Edward somehat fancies Bella.  Yeah, maybe that is simply wishful thinking on my part.  In any event I was very happy that they have chosen to move on.

Author's Response:

Yay! Glad you liked it.  I don't want to give too much away, but the next chapter is definitely going to please you.  Things are going to heat up between Bella and Edward.

The strip poker scene was very much based on a real life incident.  I wasn't in love with the guy, but I did have one heck of a crush on him.  For some reason my high school friends and I spent a great deal of time running around naked...

You're definitely on the right track about Rosalie's comment.  Thanks for the review!

And now KOL.  Another smile!  I love when authors use music to set the mood of a chapter and SOF is perfect here.

So Emmett's conversation with Bella, hmmm.  Ain't gonna lie, this chapter was so *ahem* busy that I had to run back and re-read that part.  It's like he said, she would have left anyway.  It is just sad that she severed her ties when she left.  We have as much info as Bella so it is hard to gain closure.  I just feel bad that Bella and Emmett feel a sense of guilt over what went down.  I did snicker when he flipped through channels and landed on the "movie".  Was Emmett too wrapped up in his own thoughts to realize what was on before changing to a cartoon.  It is understandable that it would create a discomfort between them.

Bella certainly was not uncomfortable to be with Edward as the evening progressed.  In my last review I referred to Bella's sexual discovery and I think need to amend that to sexual awakening  In any event she is a good match for him, they are good for one another.  Things are going so well for these two ....

Author's Response:

So glad you're enjoying the music!

(laughs) yeah, I know it's a bit of lemon overkill, but as that night is based on an actual, uh, experience I had with the real life Edward, I thought it suited the story.  I do think her conversation with Emmett is important, they both need to move past the guilt they felt.

And yeah, Emmett was just being a bit of a space cadet.  Once again, it was something based on a real life event.  I was waiting for "Edward" to get back and his roomie wasn't paying attention when he flipped through channels.  Awkward as hell.  But funny.

I agree sexual awakening is maybe a better word for it.  :)

First of all thank you.  I trust you realize after the review that I am lothlorien on the forum side.  I enjoy this story so much I think everyone should read it.   I thought about asking you if you'd like me to start a thread for you but my real life does not allow me to spend much time on that side of this site.  Second thank you for using a Rob Thomas song.  I love that man's music.

Edward's past is a lot less colorful than I would have imagined.  And I fall in love with him more and more with each chapter.  But more than anything I love the open communication these two have.

Bella's "neighbors" made me laugh just a little.  Haven't we all seen guys that have that effect on us.  What a relief they must feel in knowing he is not taken.  I know Bella sees their relationship as casual but can't help but wonder how she would react if he did hook up with someone else. And vice/versa too.  I know they have talked about this but talking and experiencing are two different things.

The Alice/Bella convo surprised me just a bit.  Then I had to remember that although Bella and Edward have been talking for a while they haven't really been together many times in that way.  It made me think about the last chapter and how the friends looked at them for they were really seeing the two of them together for the first time.

Well one more chapter and I will be caught up.

Author's Response:

If you thought enough other people might be into a thread for this story, sure.  And you could pop in your head when you have time.  I'm not sure if it would end up being anyone but the two of us nerding about the story though.  (laughs)  Either way, I appreciate the offer, and the love for the story.

I love Rob Thomas too!  His voice is always sort of what I picture Edward sounding like if he sang.  Much as I adore the OTHER Rob, and respect him as a musician, the gravely singing voice doesn't do it for me in the same way.

Yeah, Edward hasn't really been that wild.  He's had lovers, friends to scratch an itch when he needed it, but he's always been more focused on school and music than on his personal life. The real life Edward that this one is based on had half the girls in my dorm panting after him.  He had a little fan club running around and we didn't even go to the same school.

As far as jealousy/insecurity over other people, you'll find for the most part Bella is pretty cool with it, but as Edward falls for her more he starts to get a little bit possesive.

It's funny that you were surprised about the Alice/Bella conversation.  Because when I went through and re-read everything to make sure it was tidied up properly, I had to double check to make sure I hadn't been mistaken on the number of times they'd been together.  But physically together as lovers it's only been the night at Rosalie's party, the night where she snuck out of the house, and the afternoon christening her new dorm room.  And the whole group hadn't hung out since before Rosalie left.

Fluffy indeed.  These two certainly have chemistry and lots of it.  I think his gift to Bella was a beautiful gesture and perhaps a bit "hopeful".  I found it very thoughtful that he gave her the option of to be alone if she so desired and even had Alice pack a few books.  But, omg, time alone or time with Edward.  Yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about.

I may have raised an eyebrow with the comment about the future but my smile far outweighed the lift.  These little glimpses of how she affects him are becoming more and more evident.  He sure wanted her to invite him in when he brought her home.

I notice she went to dinner with Alice.  Will Alicia join them?

Author's Response:

Hopefully it wasn't TOO fluffy.  I am glad you liked his gift, and yes it was definitely "hopeful".  Yeah, it wouldn't be a hard choice for me to pick a weekend in a hotel with some good books or a weekend with a hot guy.  I love to read...but really!

She's starting to get the first real clue that things can't continue on exactly the way they are forever.  Edward is getting smitten and yes, he doesn't want to be apart from her.

Sorry if the bit about Alicia was confusing.  She invited Bella to dinner then came to tell Bella she was busy and would have dinner with her later in the week, so Bella asked Alice to dinner.  I should perhaps have come up with a different name than a Alicia, it's a bit too similar to Alice.

Oh Bella.  The Bella/Alice convo really hits home.  I like how you got the point across here.  Bottom line Bella knows Rosalie, she knows how she is with "her guys".  And I finally get it, like really get it (I think!).  Hooking up with Edward was one thing but disrespecting her in her home was a slap in the face.  Irrational as it sounds it is what it is.  (I love that phrase.)   Too bad the gossipers lurk around every corner, behind every tree.  Bella will never be able to move past this unless she moves away or something bigger and better comes along.  To top it all off Rosalie leaves like a thief in the night without so much as a kiss my ass. That's odd.  All of a sudden, as in at this moment odd, I can see that the gossipers have made Rosalie the victim.  How can she possibly save face in this wake.  What a fine howdy doody this is.  Is there a term that tops clusterfuck to the nth degree?

I was happy that Bella threw caution to the wind and agreed to meet Edward.  I don't know that Bella fully grasps that they share something special but I think he does.  When she tells him she is on the pill and has not been with anyone else it comes as no surprise.   However when he says the same the old eyebrow goes up and we realize just how much she affects him.

All of a sudden I am ready for the story to move forward.  At the same time I am apprehensive of Bella's journey to self discovery.  Not many stories have this affect on me and I applaud you for that.

Author's Response:

I've been anxiously awaiting your review!  I am so glad you liked the Alice and Bella conversation and that it cleared up at least a few questions.  You definitely get it!  There's more, because...well....Rosalie is complicated as fuck and not really thinking rationally, but you absolutely got everything I was hinting at.  No one but Rosalie really understands the rest (although you'll get a hint as Alice starts to figure it out in later chapters).  And yes, somehow to Rosalie it happening in her house made it that much more of a betrayal.

Thankfully, Bella will be moving to Seattle soon to start school, so she can finally step away from the gossip, because it has been really hard on her.  At this point, Bella no longer really cares what the town thinks, she's focused on moving ahead,  Saving face, or getting her side of the story known isn't as important anymore.  But yeah, you aren't kidding about the clusterfuck to the nth degree.  It's one hell of a mess.  Rosalie managed to spin the story in her favor and has left with her pride intact, even though it was at the expense of her best friend.

It's going to take Bella a really fucking long time to realize just how special things are with Edward.  You are probably going to want to throw things at me for how slow she is to realize it.  And throw things for how long it takes Edward to get his shit together.  Because yes, he's starting to realize just how much she matters, but he's not going to have a clue how to tell her that. The fact that he hasn't moved on to someone else shocks both Bella and Edward, he's not quite sure what to make of it. I really hope you can be patient, there is a long period of happy lemony goodness as their feelings for each other deepen, but they are going to take quite a while to realize it and figure out how to make it work.

Bella's journey will be brutal, but necessary and I LOVE that you are so invested in this.  It's extraordinarily flattering to hear that.

I had to really stop and think about this chapter.  I was reading right along, thinking about your response to my last review and going back a ways to my younger self as I processed the sequence of events.

I couldn't help but snicker that Edward went to scope out the guest room prepared to evacuate whoever might be within so he could have private time with Bella.   Was he aware that she was a virgin?  I agree with her whole heartedly, I was glad that he was her first.   He was a gentle and considerate lover with a little of the bad boy persona thrown in and hell I would have offered my younger self up to him.  *Insert smirk and wink*

Bella's inexperience really shows when she wants to go back where everyone else is.   I loved that Edward wanted to keep her there with him in their own little world.  I get the feeling that it was more than just a casual hook up for him, that he feels something more for her.  Is that so or just wishful thinking on my part?   You did, after all, say he is bewildered by her.

I was not surprised that she would call her girls the next day.   Hell, that's what we girls do, it is a rite of passage to share new experiences with our girls.  Alice responded as one would expect.  But Rosalie.  Whew.  Now that came as a bit of surpise but I did kind of expect it.  I mean she had been with Edward not very long ago and we do not have the details of the mutual parting of ways.  She may be more observant than meets the eye.

So in response to your questions ... How do you feel about what Edward and Bella did?  Do you think they should have known how Rosalie would react?   Well I have already answered the first.  As for the second I don't think Edward knows Rosalie well enough to know that she would react like this.  I was under the impression that they both knew that what they had was a simple casual relationship with benefits.  On the other hand what girl does not want to feel special no matter what the circumstances.  And again we do not know what went down behind closed doors when they parted and the break up, so to speak, could have been his idea.  In that case I can see where Rosalie would feel betrayed by both Edward and Bella.

So now I have to really stop and think about what is to come in the next chapter, lol.

Author's Response:

swoons) I adore your reviews.  So thorough.

I won't answer your question about if Edward knew Bella was a virgin.  It's answered in the next chapter.  (laughs) I agree with your comment on Edward.  I DID sleep with this "Edward" and didn't regret the experience for a moment.  Even though it caused one hell of a mess with the "Rosalie" in my life.  I couldn't have asked for a better first lover.

I'm glad you caught that about her wanting to go back into the other room.  She's far more mature than most girls her age, but not quite 100% comfortable with her sexuality yet.  Trust me, she'll get there.  :)  If she'd been smart, she would have stayed in the room with him. My answer to your question about it being wishful thinking that it was more to Edward is both yes and no.  Yes, it was more than a hook up.  Does he realize right away just how much she's gotten under his skin?  No.  Not yet.  He didn't fall in love with her in one night, he doesn't want a relationship, but yes, he knows he's feeling different than he ever has before.

(laughs) yes, girls have to analyze and discuss everything.  That's one reason Bella is so shocked that Rosalie doesn't want to talk about it.  She doesn't quite understand yet just how betrayed Rosalie feels.  The shit will hit the fan in the next chapter.  You are absolutely right that Rosalie is more observant than you might think.  I had never planned to write any chapters from anyone's perspective but Bella's, however, Rosalie told me in no uncertain terms the other day that her story had to be told.  So I'm writing a short (2-3 chapter) bit from her perspective.  I won't post it until after this story is completely done, but it's actually kind of fascinating to see the same story unfold through her eyes.

Good call on the fact that Edward is going to be blindsided by Rosalie's reaction.  You're right, he doesn't know her that well.  And yes, when they started sleeping together they both agreed that it was casual and that either could end it if it got more serious or for any other reason.  I can't tell you what happened yet, but you will learn more about who ended it and why as we go.

I definitely accomplished my goal if it made you think!  Thanks a million for the fabulous critique.  I LOVE it.

It's kinda weird to read Rosalie/Edward even if it is a friends with benefits kinda situation.  I can't help but wonder how she will switch to Emmett and how Edward will take it.  I was very happy that Alice and Jasper have already gravitated toward one another.  Looking forward to how this story will play out.

Reviewer: mscope Signed
Date: December 09, 2010 Title: Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - The Things You Said

This is a really good chapter.  LOVE the bond explanation among the girls.  I don't care who ya are ... girls need girlfriends to get them through all kinds of shit whether it is a mindless crush on a new boy in town or serious trouble on the home front ... someone to giggle with or hold your hand when you cry.  I feel you captured that in this glimpse into their relationship.

I also found the Emmett/Bella dynamic to be very sweet.  And I am ever so thankful you are keeping that one platonic.  Also like the Jasper/Bella dynamic.  The Edward/Bella dynamic?  I don't know it is hard to say.  I am not certain he sees her at this point and if he does he sees her as a child?  I just don't know.  But, you know what, it's okay as it will make the get to know phase so much more believeable.

Poor Rosalie.  Considering her home life history it is easy to understand random hookups on her part.  I don't know that she fully comprehends the deeper connection between lovers.   Yes, she is young and that is part of it but she has nothing to base real love on.  When Emmett does reach through to her it will be a true awakening of sorts ... at least that is what the romantic within me wants to see, lol.

Edward's brief encounter with the sad girl was sweet.  His words probably meant more to her than we'll ever know.  Between that and the way the waitress responded we see w/o a doubt the effect he has on the ladies.   How can any girl not react to this man?

Author's Response:

Oh thank you!  I am so thrilled that you got exactly what I was trying to do with this chapter.  It's a really really important one, it sets up so many future interactions between all of the characters.  You completely understood what I was saying with the Edward/Bella dynamic and I am really happy about that.  I hope you like the way that changes.  You are also spot on with Rosalie and Emmett.  How things develop with them is a great little part of the story.  I think you'll really love it.

Although the specific incident didn't happen, the guy I am basing Edward (at this portion of the story) on was such a charmer.  It was amazing.  And he charmed women cradle to grave.  He flirted with eighty year old women and made them blush like they were sixteen.  The best part was, he was utterly sincere.  He just loved women.  Young, old, plain, gorgeous...he made them all feel amazing with just a smile and a few words.

Yep.  I'm the one sitting here with the silly grin.  I've known a few of these Edward's in my life.   Really nice guys that don't have to work at it to make a girl feel special and not to mention make her girly parts hum shamelessly.  But all that aside he is a good and decent guy.  No wonder the girls are drawn to him.

This time that he and Bella spent together was effortless and fun to witness.  Just the right amount of harmless teasing while getting to know one another in a one on one conversation.  I really like that there was no fangirl fanfair or jolts of electricity as they talked.  Granted Bella had fantasies of sorts but given her age it all made sense.  And hell, who knows what may have passed through Edward's mind at this time.  It was encouraging that he told her they were all beautiful.  Smooth talker that he is he is not over the top sounding like a perv.  His admission of his highschool experience with girls made me smile big.  He could have told her anything but chose not to, following an honest path without putting on errors.  I am falling for this guy myself.

I laughed at Emmett's expense.  Don't you know he will do whatever it takes to get Edward out of Rosalie's picture.  Shameless as it may sound I am certain he is not below singing Bella's praises to Edward.

I am in awe of the gradual shifts that are taking place in the story.  Very impressive.  Very impressive indeed.

Author's Response:

I'm firmly convinced that every girl should have an Edward like that at some point in her life.  Very good for the ego.

The scene where they first have a real conversation was such fun to write.  The banter between the two of them is one of my favorite parts of the whole story.  It flowed really naturally for me and I'm glad it came across so well to readers.

I was pretty amused with Emmett too, he's such a sweetie.  A little conniving, but in a rather sweet way.  He wants everyone to be happy, just so long as he ends up with Rose.

Thanks for all of the compliments on the story, if I could blush I would!

Ah!  E/B time!  Which reminds me, I have really enjoyed your music choice from the onset.  Those I am not familiar with I find on YouTube.  So yeah, thanx!

Too bad Rose joined E/B on the patio.  No telling where that could have gone with a little more time.  The good news is Rosalie is tiring of him and maybe, just maybe, she will see Emmett ... like really see Emmett.

Joe was a nice enough guy.  E/E didn't seem to think so, especially Edward.  Is it okay that I teeheed at him and his reaction?

Author's Response:

I am so thrilled that you've been enjoying the music!  My taste is very random (the songs/bands that Bella told Edward she liked were all taken directly from my tastes) and I love being exposed to new stuff.  I am so happy to introduce what I love to other people.

I am glad you were disappointed that Rose joined them outside, but I absolutely did not want to have anything happen between them until Edward and Rose were completely done.  I hate to tell you, but you're going to have to be patient.  It's going to be a while before Rose grows up enough to see Emmett for what he really is.

Glad you liked Joe but not too much, that was another of my goals.  It's totally okay that you teeheed at Edward's reaction!  I thought the reaction suited him.  I think you're going to enjoy the next chapter immensely.

OMG!  I don't know that I was expecting this so soon, not that I am complaining or anything.  When he sat near her outside I kept waiting for them to talk but people kept asking her to sign their annual and well you know how it was since you wrote it.  He certainly is drawn to her.  In a way I was glad the guest room was occupied as that may have been too much too soon for Bella.  But now more than ever I look forward to the next update and the morning after and all.

Author's Response:

I always love your reviews!  I knew you guys weren't expecting things to heat up so quickly between them.  I deliberately tried to avoid dropping any hints so you would be just as surprised by it as Bella was.

You are absolutely right that he's drawn to her, although he's kind of bewildered by it.

I understand what you mean about things happening a bit fast for Bella, but...she's more ready than you might think.  I am going to give you a little hint about the next chapter.  The morning after will be part of it, but the night isn't totally over, I chose to end the chapter there for a reason.  But they aren't quite done yet...

Rose is a little more p/o'd than I'd oringinally thought.  I understand the whole reverse Bro's before ho's mentality but to call Bella a slut knowing damn good and well Bella was a virgin is just a bit much to take.   I would have bitch slapped the girl and probably ranted and raved as the crowd gathered chanting fight, fight.  Yeah, I know, I am so mature right?!!  The important thing here is that Bella is and she was a real class act.

Edward's conversation with Bella was interesting.  His admission that Rose was not angry with him leads me to believe that she was indeed ready to move on but did not want Edward to move on as easily.  She knows she is hot and he could at least pine just a little at the loss.  But I also have to wonder if Rosalie would still be with him had it not been for the way she saw Edward look at and casually talk to Bella when they were still together.  Had Bella been indifferent to his advances Rosalie could have saved face so to speak.  Yeah, well this is one of the reasons I am glad I am no longer a teenage girl.  I really look forward to Rosalie's take on this and hope she holds nothing back when she tells us about it.  But even more than that I hope she realizes that Bella is important to her.

Did Bella blindside him with her virginity or what?!!   I swear my eyes were the size of saucers when that not so little revelation was made.   She may have been in his dreams but I have a feeling those dreams are about to become a lot more intense.   And can you imagine how sweet the lovin will be the next time they are together....

....Well maybe.  I sit back in my chair and contemplate the sublte hints of what is to come.   Bella's admission that Rose was her first kiss sent my eyebrows so far into my hairline I didn't think I'd ever get them back in place.  You don't suppose she's angry with Bella because .... no, that is speculation and I won't go there.  Then there is Kate, have we met her?  Has Bella met her?  I just don't remember.   And certainly I would remember Kate's gaydar go off, well maybe not as I am pretty oblivious to that sort of thing.  The other flag raiser is the convo with Alice and the reference to Jake being a hottie.  Sounds to me like Bella is going to meet Claire soon.

One more thing and I'll let you go.  Alice is a good friend to Bella and Rosalie too.  If anyone can smoothe Rosie's ruffled feathers it will be her.

The more I read the more I love this story.  You have no idea how hard it is for me not to go fan girla and add update soon even though your frequent updates have been stellar.

Author's Response:

Yeah, Rose is about as pissed as you can get.  You’re going to see just how much over the next five chapters or so.  (laughs) I can’t say I blame you for reaction.  The compliment to Bella is appreciated, but I’m not entirely sure it was class and maturity as much as shock.  She was really too stunned to react, because she never expected a betrayal of that magnitude.

You are absolutely right that Rose was over Edward but not alright with him moving on.  I’m not quite sure what you mean about Rose still being with Edward if he hadn’t been interested in Bella while they were together.  Can you explain?

I am so glad I’m no longer a teenage girl.  I never intentionally caused drama but I sure found it a few times.  Nothing like being 18 and oblivious, right?  Trust me, you will LOVE Rose’s take on this, but you’re going to have to wait until the end of the story to get it.  Hope you can be patient!  She will realize Bella is important, but it’s going to be a long, slow road.

(laughs) I am glad the virginity conversation caused such a reaction!  As I’ve said, I lived this portion of the story and oh man was my “Edward” thrown for a loop.  He had no idea.  I know some people have really horrible/painful first times but mine was absolutely about as good as you can ask for.  He really did scold me for not telling him.  Whoops.  Again with the oblivious 18 year old thing…

They are both going to go a little crazy wanting each other and not being able to act on it.  Especially now that they know just how good it can be.

Yeah, I debated about a thousand times if I should put in the Jacob crush or not.  Ultimately I decided to, because Bella needed to feel completely isolated and literally have Edward be her only friend for a little while.  She’s pissed at Jacob, Alice is on vacation, Angela is at camp, Rosalie won’t speak to her, etc.  I know what you mean about him telling her about the gossip, but at the same time…it doesn’t change anything.  You’re very right, it’s pretty much just a clusterfuck all around.

I have been really surprised by people’s reaction to Alice. I feel like Alice is kind of in an impossible situation.  If she takes sides, she loses Rose completely and any chance of smoothing things over eventually.  She didn’t know any more about the situation than Bella did.  Rosalie has confided in no one.  And yes, Alice is young and inexperienced, and has never had to deal with a situation like this before.

Yeah, Rose really is a sad character in so many ways.  The good news is, she gets her HEA eventually, she just has to go through a lot of shit to get there.
