Just as long as things turn out with Edward and Bella together, where they belong, forever, I would never presume to tell you how to write this story. This is your baby, not anybody elses, and only you know how it should go. This last contretemps is pretty scary, Jane and Alec are nothing to fool around with. However,I can't wait until Bella gets here and absorbs their talents. They better watch how many times they try to incapacitate her, she'll get them good!

Author's Response:

Don't worry, I'm avid about the Edward&Bella HEAs. Next chapter should be a douzy for you then, wondering how many things were guessing on and which direction they actually went.

You did well, I thought. It isn't necessary to get gross about killing vampires, as far as the mechanics go, a hint is fine by me. I'm very glad, however that Bella managed to conceal her abilities from the Volturi. What they don't know won't hurt her or Edward. Pretty much a case of all's well that ends well.

Author's Response:

Its not the killing of vampires that bugs me, its the killing period. I can't do violence well. I wrote it like I saw in my head and I saw Edward trying to shield Bella in someway. Who know what the Volturi would have done with Bella's absorbing gift if they knew the extent of it.

The epilog was a goody and the wedding dress was simple, classic and gorgeous! Her lingerie wasn't bad, either. You just knew that Edward was going to love each and every one, a lot. The whole story was just a delight to read, even with Tanya and James being so crazy. It boils down to family, history and lots of love, I enjoyed the whole  thing very much. Thank you!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you enjoyed this. I really had fun writing it, if you couldn't tell.

Summary:

Summary: As the Cullens and their allies prepare to face the Volturi, Carlisle questions many things: What was the Volturi's real motive for coming to Forks? Why had Alice and Jasper left? What would become of his coven? Why had Esme not shown to say goodbye?

Stephenie Meyer owns all Twilight.

This is a perspective that has not been explored before, what was going through Carlisle's mind before the confrontation with the Volturi. You did a really good job of sharing his thoughts with us. There is a very good reason the family loves and respects his leadership. If this was the Middle Ages, he would be known as Carlisle the Compassionate and Wise.

What an introduction to a story! It reached out and grabbed me by the throat,no pun intended. Just got my attention rather quickly, shall we say?I don't know what it is about tortured souls that is so seductive, but there it is.  Perhaps it's the yearning to ease the pain. I'm just a nosy old broad, thinking I have an answer for most things. Silly me!

Believe or don't believe, why anyone would get upset about religion, is a real mystery, to me. We would all be a lot better off, if we just subscribed to that old saying, live and let live. Sure would make for a happier world, in my opinion. As for Bella's reaction, I can certainly understand how she might see Edward as an angel. After all, how could something that beautiful be human? Right? Back I go, to read more!

No wonder Bella feels the need pray so long and so fervently. What a hell of a thing to go through, and all alone, too. Makes me glad she had her faith to hang onto, when everything seemed to let her down.WHEW!

It was no accident that I found this story. I'm reading Requiem for a Sheriff, and liking it so much, I looked up what else you had written. Most are in my favorites now. This  one is so good, I nagged my daughter into adding it to her list, too. (she has this thing about all human stories, but I told her she would love this) Always listen to your mom, right? I figure she should, it was she that turned me on to Twilight. I've read all four books, and seen all three movies, and own both dvd's, I'm hooked. I have to laugh at myself, sometimes, nearly seventy years old and just as wrapped up in Bella and Edward as any young girl. Age really is a state of mind. Meanwhile, back to your fascinating story.

Author's Response:

Hey, thanks for all your reviews! I wanted to address this one though, I'm always glad to see members of an older set (as I am) into Twilight. For all of Stephanie Meyers' faults as an author, (which I think become glaringly obvious in Breaking Dawn), one thing she did brilliantly is desribe that first rush of infatuation with someone in a high school kind of way. And I think that is something that every woman, no matter what age, can relate to.

But its not something I could do as well, so I wrote the kind of Edward that attracted me, a little older, a lot darker and more powerful, and more willing to use that power. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story!

The further I read, the more the story pulls me in. I'm already rooting for Bella and Edward to heal each other. Bella has a couple of good friends in her priest and Arlene. Edward has his family, if only he will let them help. Back to the reading!

Who knew Tanya could be a comforter? How sad the boys didn't get out alive. Kind of makes me want to choke that monster myself. Anybody who hurts kids is way worse than a vampire, in my opinion.

You win, my heart was in my throat by the end of the chapter. Thank God, Edward arrived when he did! I'm on my way back to find out if he laid waste to those bastards.

My, oh my! That was just a bit intense. Forgive my bad, but those creeps got what they deserved. Come to think of it, Edward almost got his reward, too, didn't he? That close and still able to pull back, I'm proud of him.

Our boy has got himself one heck of a problem, no? Guess he'll just have to trust Alice's visions and Esme's advice. I'm betting Edward's stronger than he knows and he'll keep from killing Bella. Optimism is my middle name.

Wonderful memories of when my husband and I rode our Goldwing all over the Northwest. Boy, those were good times, and one of the best ways to see anything. Sounds as if Bella likes bike rides, too. Probably has something to do with her traveling companion.

Things are progressing nicely. Bella is a smart cookie, figuring out Edward's not human. The Yeats poem is beautiful, not to mention, sensual. Nice touch.

There goes Bellas subconcious, trying to warn her of potential danger. This is getting more complex as we get deeper into the story, and I love it!

Rosalie is pretty opinionated, wouldn't you say? That was some knock-down drag-out she and Edward had. Kind of glad the family broke it up, though. Last, but not least, good ole Jasper!

I'm getting the feeling that Edward has met another vampire, am I right? How absolutely perfect that Edward should be drawn to the stainedglass of Jesus and Lazarus.

Glad the monsignior wasn't a vampire, just hope he's not going to be a problem for Edward. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but i'm sensing a change in Edward, already. Bella is a good influence on him.

Author's Response:

Thanks again for all the reviews, it really is a thrill as an author to watch as a reviewer goes chapter by chapter through a story. No, as you know by now, the Monsignor isn;t a vamp, although he has vamp ties!

Edward isn't going to make nice with the wolf pack, I see. They don't need to be antagonizing each other, it isn't safe for the Cullens or the wolves, to draw attention to themselves. Besides, I just want to see Bella and Edward together.
