A bit late in the day for Renee's maternal instincts to rear their heads, but better late than never. Bella handled it pretty well, without having to lie to her mom too much. I wonder if here is where the anger seed is planted? I see Bella is still a little self-esteem deprived. She just can't see what Edward sees in her.

Edward may have made a big mistake not answering his phone. It could be Alice with vital information. When is this guy going to learn? Bella's sleep-talking isn't very encouraging either.

It helps a little to hear Bella's thoughts, and I agree that stuff is better out in the open than festering in side. I'm also thinking Bella and Edward both should be careful of what they say. Some things can't be unsaid.

Can't argue with Bella, Esme is more of a mother-figure than Renee ever was. It is so good for Bella's mental health to be able to unload on Alice and Esme, secure in the knowledge she's sharing with two women that love Edward nearly as much as she does. I have my fingers and toes crossed that Edward will get that lightbulb over his head and get what Bella is trying to tell him. I want so much for them to be together, it hurts them both to be seperated, as history shows.

I never thought Alice would blame herself for Edward's leaving Bella. I figured she would have her hands full trying to soothe and support Jasper in his despair. Should have known she might shoulder some of the blame. It's a sad time for all the Cullens, no doubt about it and little do they know it will get worse before it gets better.

Always wondered what would have happened, if Edward had stayed away, and Volterra never happened. Now I'm about to find out. In my humble opinion, Edward never should have left Bella anyway. I'm looking forward to watching him try to get her back.

Edward can't be too pleased to hear Dr. J.T. Yates tell him to call any time, as Bella lives with him! I wasn't too thrilled about that either, but what can you expect? After all, Edward left her and told her to have a life without him. That's why they always tell you to be careful what you wish for, lest you get it.

The picture isn't coming clear to Edward yet, is it? I kind of feel sorry for him, in a way, he's going to be really embarassed when he figures it out. If he figures it out, that is. It's just going to blow his vampire mind, I'm afraid.

Emmett gave it a good try, with logical arguments, but blockheaded Edward isn't listening. I'm thinking Bella may be the only one who can get through to him. I hope she's not too hard on him, poor baby.

Trust Jasper to get to the heart of the matter. Hope Edward is brave enough to take the excellent advice offered by Jasper. I got a vibe from Bella that she was hoping for a much different declaration from Edward than what she got.

Edward really wanted to hear from Bella, but we don't always get what we want. At least the first day of law school went pretty well. Now we'll see if he can keep his promise to Bella.

I'm beginning to see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train. I'm so impressed with Emmett's advice to Edward. Now all he has to do is implement that good advice.  Easier said than done, but worth it if she takes him back.
