I loved the chapter, so so sweet. Absolutely loved the basketball court story. I am a little lost and will have to go back and read a few previous chapters, I forgot where the story left off :(. My smile faltered as I got the feeling I was being watched. Cautiously, I raised my eyes and was instantly met with Edward's twinkling gaze. His happy expression quickly vanished, replaced with one of indifference as he stood behind the far end of the island counter. He looked down at the countertop, loudly clearing his throat, his eyebrows knitted together in a tight frown. His serious demeanor instantly engulfed us in an uneasy, awkward silence.
Quickly helping Henry to his feet, I dragged myself up from the floor, brushing my jeans off and straightening my plaid flannel shirt. I tried to ignore how my chest was constricting around my rapidly beating heart while nervousness rolled coldly in my stomach.
