My smile faltered as I got the feeling I was being watched. Cautiously, I raised my eyes and was instantly met with Edward's twinkling gaze. His happy expression quickly vanished, replaced with one of indifference as he stood behind the far end of the island counter. He looked down at the countertop, loudly clearing his throat, his eyebrows knitted together in a tight frown. His serious demeanor instantly engulfed us in an uneasy, awkward silence.
Quickly helping Henry to his feet, I dragged myself up from the floor, brushing my jeans off and straightening my plaid flannel shirt. I tried to ignore how my chest was constricting around my rapidly beating heart while nervousness rolled coldly in my stomach. The lighthearted and cheerful atmosphere quickly became so heavy and tense, it was suffocating.
Summary: 
Geeky Bella has a theory. She suspects that popular Edward Cullen is not who he claims to be. Being one not to let things go, she decides to investigate. Are her crazy speculations true or will she be left feeling foolish? Most importantly, how far is she willing to go to prove herself accurate? OOC

well, yes, it will drop with long waiting time on updates. usually when there is a long wait, the assumption is the story is abandoned, writers block, or author lost interest. it's sad because many do follow the stories but we learn to live with it when that happens and wind up moving on to another story to follow.
i, on the other hand, do not like the long waits and do get frustated, but always come back when there is an update!
i love your story and always hope the wait won't be to long. i follow you on FF as well, updates are faster there.

What happened to my story????
Summary:
I'd been dissatisfied more times than I could count in the past two years, which probably wasn't a bad thing. Usually, it just meant another long month of disappointment on my part when we realized the new batch of women were no good. We'd found several candidates that fit our needs, but as was often the case, they lacked that certain spark I'd personally been looking for. It didn't matter, though; I always had a lot of fun deciphering through the rejects.
It wasn't about promiscuity; it wasn't about experimentation, although we did plenty of that. Our program was about learning how to find sexual pleasure, adapting to different methods, and finding that one person who chemically and physically matched us to perfection.
Rated NC-17 for graphic lemons, sexual/adult content, and foul language. Canon couples...eventually.

Personally, I have no creative ability and applaud all the authors who spin these stories. I find them fascinating and highly addicitive. But like a good tv show, when they take certain turns, no updates, and just seem to chug a long, it is frustrating. Very much for me who has no imagination and live vicarously through the stories!
Here's hoping chapter 9 gives us a smile on one level or another!! :)

OK, now I am scared!! You never taker this long on an update!!! Your aren't abandoning the story are you - I don't think I can take the disappointment. Your one of four stories I follow now becaue of things like that. please say it isn't so!!! Author's Response: Hey there Sweetie!
NO, absolutely, NO! I am not abandoning this story. Quite, the opposite in fact. I'm working on finishing it. It's just been a little tricky to wrap everything up and I wanted to make sure i had it right before I began posting again. Unfortunately, Twilighted doesn't give me an option to post Author's Notes, so I've had no way to send word out that I'm still alive and kicking. Or typing, as the case may be. ;-)
SO... I appreciate you contacting me. Maybe a few people will check the reviews and see this. I can't give you an exact date on the next chapter, but I hope it will be posted no later than Sunday.

From Chapter 24 of What Drives Her:
"You're dad's coming back," I said quickly. I tucked a strand of wayward hair behind Bella's ear and smiled crookedly at her, hoping to make it look as though we hadn't just been having a serious conversation.
Bella blushed and pushed my hand away. "No dazzling in front of my parents, please," she whispered.
Her words caused me to start laughing lightly, and I was chuckling still when Charlie finally appeared from the kitchen. Renee coincidentally made her way back down the stairs about the same time.
"Well, Sue is insisting she take Seth home immediately," Charlie announced.
"What? Why?" Renee asked.
"He has the flu. I guess it's pretty bad. High fever. Throwing up. The whole nine yards," Charlie answered, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Charlie, if you go back to Forks now, you may not make it back here in time for Bella's graduation," Renee said, her voice concerned.
"Not to worry, Ren. Seth has his own car here," Charlie soothed her. "Sue will drive him down in that."
"Oh, thank goodness..." Renee put her hand over her heart dramatically, making Bella shake her head and Charlie roll his eyes. Renee noticed the gesture and began stammering. "I mean, it's not good that Seth is sick, or that Sue can't make it to the graduation, but... oh, you know what I mean."
"Yes, Renee. I understand," Charlie chuckled.
Bella laughed quietly along with him, but her smile didn't quite reach her eyes all the way. I squeezed her hand gently, and was not at all surprised when Renee sat down on the other side of her daughter and put her arm around Bella's shoulder. I sat back a bit to allow her to comfort Bella.
"Don't worry, baby. Seth will be fine. He'll be over it in a week or so," she murmured.
Bella smiled at her mom and nodded, but didn't say anything which just made Renee nudge her shoulder and lower her voice so she was whispering softly right above Bella's ear. "Besides, I'm pretty sure you happen to have the hottest boyfriend in all of Seattle right now, so you don't get to be morose."
And even though I shouldn't have been able to hear, Bella knew immediately that I had, and her sputtering, red-faced response had me fighting very hard not to laugh.
Unfortunately for all of us, when Renee began laughing at her daughter's reaction, it drew Charlie's attention and he looked from the girls to me in question. I shrugged, but not before he noticed the odd expression on my face.
"Everything okay over there, Edward?" he asked suspiciously.
"Oh, yes... Fine, sir. I just had something stuck in my throat for a second."
"I'll bet you did," Bella muttered. When she finally turned her face to look at me, I honestly couldn't help but grin widely and wink at her. Predictably, it turned bright red once more.

What a wonderful chapter!!! This is my 2nd favorite chapter!!! I am sure next will be just as good. You have such a great flow going on and it will be worth the wait for the holidays. I will patiently wait, no grumblings as I understand you are not my personal story teller, though, maybe Santa will see otherwise ;)!!!
I love that your Bella is not sappy and knows what she wants and does not tolerate Edward controlling everything. Seems the shoe is on the other foot and she controls him. Love It!!!!
