"Open Up Next to You" by LJ Summers. The author's reputation alone is enough of a reason to read it, but it also happens to be a wonderful story. I think my favorite quote ever from a fanfic piece is in this one. Complete.
"Trip of a Lifetime" by samekraemer. The stars at night... are big and bright... *clap clap clap clap* deep in the heart of Texas! AU-Human, canon couples, plot twists to rival "Dallas," and lemony goodness. Complete.
"The Difference Between Love and Obligation" by GreatEscape. AU-Human, mostly (and eventually) canon couples. Emotionally charged and realistic. You must read this one if you're an AU-Human fan. Complete.
"Cauchemar Vivant" by Lunar Siren. AU. A very intricate vamp-involved storyline that's not for the faint of heart. Badassery abounds. Hope it comes back from hiatus.
"Mary Alice, Full of Grace" by MissManda. Pre-Twilight AU. Love, love, love. Be forewarned that there is violence within, for those who are sensitive to such. In progress.
"A Different Kind of Love" by LauraEmily18. Sequel to New Moon AU "Broken Spirit." Some things will probably make a bit more sense of you read the prequel first, but even if you take this story on its own, you'll enjoy vampire Bella and Edward as they foster children in England. In progress.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Over My Pile Of Ashes
Yeah, count me among the ones who read this in a day. I really enjoyed the Bella-Emmett pairing. He was thoughtful and supported her independence- he gave her far more credit than anyone else did. While it was sad to see Edward be so selfish, he deserved what he got. My only wish for this story was that the Cullens knew what Embry picked up on: that Rosalie wanted what she planned. I'm glad Charlie and Jacob found happiness and were able to move on.
You mercilessly held my interest hostage, and I couldn't click "next" fast enough at the end of each chapter. Nicely done. Looking forward to the sequel.

Summary: AU set after the events of New Moon. Instead of staying in Forks, Bella and the Cullens left following the confrontation with Jacob in the woods. ARGH! I truly hate that this story isn't all posted yet. I've read all of it in one shot today and I've really liked it.
I'm enjoying where Alice and Jacob's friendship seems to be going. The dessert debacle and how it was handled was very cute. I was beginning to wonder whether Jasper would accompany Alice to the Rez, and I'm glad to see that loose end tied up.

Look at little miss determined. She's so skeptical and nervous about so many things- with good reason- and is simply going on the faith from her visions that things will turn out all right. School, Alice asks? All right, school, then, Alice decides, and I'll figure it all out while I'm there. Ha-rumph.
What is your vision, by the way, of Alice's appearance, age-wise? I'm trying to figure out if she looks young *because* she's so tiny or if she's both young and tiny. I'm getting the impression that she appears on the surface to be a very petite twelve-year-old. Author's Response: I love your description of how Alice decides on school, I kinda figured that would be about how it went. I puzzled as to how she's going to get there with Jasper, (ch 23?), and I was trying to figure out if she would go. She may be having trouble with the Cullens, but she knows she can handle some humans, right? : )

That's about right. We get the impression from SM that Nessie is just going to grow up until like 20 and then chill there, so I decided that's about what Alice would have done. But, if you've ever seen a 20 or so year old severely underweight, they look like a tiny 13 year old, which is about where Alice is right now. She would look older if she weighed more, which is where I was going with that.

Title: Chapter 25: Chapter 25- Morning of
I really hope things go well for Alice at school. I'm glad she seems to be coming around about eating- I'm not saying she needs to be force-fed a sandwich every ten minutes, but it's nice to see her open up to the idea of needing more nourishment. Her relationships seem to be evolving nicely, and I think even Rose will come around soon. Nice job yet again. This is honestly one of my favorite works on this site. :-) Author's Response: Wow... that is quite the compliment, thank you so much! I think this will be good for Alice, and not just for self-defense purposes. She's come so far in such a short time, but she could stand to have her boundaries pushed more if she's going to live with vampires and interact among humans. Author's Response: Yeah, I went back and forth on this for a while... but I decided that it was a good first step for her, and something that even Jasper could see the use of. He doesn't have a lot of input on more touchy feely things, but I figured even he would agree that knowing how to handle yourself is important :)
