Author's Response: Thanks so much. I really enjoyed getting into this period in Edward's life - past the rebellious years, but in a kind of holding pattern until Bella comes along. I very much like the story so far, but I have to admit it stings a little when someone calls my church or lifestyle stifling and unnecessary. All beliefs, be they from religion, to environmental protection, to compassion for animals, etc. seem "stifling and unnecessary" to those with different views. But to me, my beliefs are both fulfilling and liberating. I'm sure you meant no disrespect,-Anyway, I'm enjoying your descriptions of the characters and the town. Thanks for taking the time to write. Author's Response: I am so, so sorry! I'm honestly just getting some of my anger out. Actually, in this story I am Bella and a boy I fell for in high school is Edward. His Mormon parents freaked out because I am a Baptist who wouldn't change my religion to be with him. I'm sorry if I offended you. I have a few Mormon friends, and while I do not necessarily agree with their beliefs, I support their right to have them and respect them.

That's such a memorable feeling when you are beginning to fall for someone and your whole consciousness gains some other sense that is aware of where the other person is even when you can't see them. Wow, it seems like these Mormons are something more like a mixture of convent and religious mafia, I find that puzzling and a little bit funny. I'm truly not mocking you, it's just funny to see how others see my religion from the outside:) The religous difference between them, it's as good an obstacle to overcome as any. Every good story has to have one, I'm curious to see how this one plays out.

It was fun to hear this take on the events of that day, quite a fun and original way for it to play out, with the family there helping him. I love the bond Edward has with his family. I think the rating is miscategorized, it seems like it belongs in the PG-13 rating rather than G. I think of the G rating as one where I could feel comfortable allowing my 12 yr old to read. Just an opinion though. Great one-shot, thanks for writing!

Title: Chapter 1: Wherever you go
I agree that in the Movie Edward was OOC, and it bugged. I guess if you look at it another way it's probably more true to life how it would happen between real couples. I know if my husband was dying for what I thought was an irrational, preventable and completely unnecessary reason we'd probably have some heated words. You put that kind of stress on people and there's gonna be an argument. But that's the whole point, even if that's what REAL couples would do, it isn't what Edward would do and isn't that part of the reason we love him so much? That he's somehow above those pesky human traits our real life mates have? :) Author's Response: It's true. That's why we love him so much. But also I kind of feel that if there was going to be an argument like as in real couples they should've had it happen much earlier. To be honest I don't even think that many people would have yelled at someone they loved when they were in Bella's condition at that point. If the timepoints in the movie match with the book, the time that he yelled at her was when she was much too frail to be able to survive even if she had agreed to have them remove the baby. It was just before they realized she could drink blood to make her stronger and she was at her worst. It was right about the time that Jacob observed that she looked like she had only hours left to live. If someone you loved looked like they only had hours left, would you spend it shouting at them? He yells and then just walks out and leaves her?! Of course, I guess the thing is from the movie you don't really get the detail about how weak she really is, and it seems maybe they made her stronger, so I guess maybe that's it. But even still, as we said, it's completely out of Edward's character, and I feel he blamed himself much too much to yell at Bella. Anyhow, I shall shut up now, lol. Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts!!

I adore the way you introduced Bella into the situation, very compelling but without the excess drama. It's strange that it was so casual, and yet that very casual-ness gave it an intimate feel. I like the idea of Edward being somewhat friends with Bella first. It's refreshing:) Author's Response: This story is going to be fairly short as far as fanfics go - under 20 chapters, if all goes according to plan, well, the new plan, I've already destroyed the plan I had prior to starting - so I needed to set some stuff up prior to beginning. Besides every relationship should start with a friendship if you ask me :)

I'm completely hooked already! I could definitely do without the F-bombs, they're a little distracting to the mood and flow for me, but I'm kind of a prude like that I guess:) I love how you've introduced Alice's "ability" here, so creative! You've taken some elements of an existing set of characters and story and made them completely your own! Love it! Author's Response: The good news is the boys learn to be a little better behaved when they're around the baby, so there's hope on the cursing front... mostly. Don't expect too much from Emmett, though he'll try, but boys are boys.
