Sorry this has been so long in the making! I've had a tougher time than expected writing Emmett, but here's a little teaser!

It was a slow process and I know that I scared her at first. I will never forget the look of sheer terror in her eyes when she awoke in the hospital to me sitting beside her bed, all bulk and muscle. I remember how the heart monitor’s beeping practically went through the roof as she sat bolt upright and tried to scramble backwards. Her movement had caused her to put pressure on her broken ribs which probably caused a considerable amount of pain based on the way her face went pale but that didn’t stop her. She was working on pure instinct and that was telling her to get as far away from me as possible. I knew that if I stood up and showed her exactly how big I really was, she would probably pass out or try to jump out of the bed and hurt herself so, instead, I just sat there and smiled at her. I didn’t say a word, didn’t hold up my hands and promise not to hurt her, I didn’t even tell her where she was though she probably deduced that one for herself. We stared at each other for what felt like forever and I listened as the heart monitor slowly went back to a healthy pace. Finally, when I figured that she wouldn’t bolt, I crossed my arms over my chest and said, casually,

“You know, you bled all over our stairs.”

It was the beginning of a lot of laughs between the two of us. I still say that it was my charming dimples that won her over in those first few minutes, she says it was my complete lack tact. She says tomato; I say potato.
