“What are you thinking?” Edward asked me.
“I’m thinking about how big of a failure I am,” I answered truthfully.
We were still holding each other in his classroom and I realized quickly how dangerous that was...that was where Edward and I went wrong. The need we both felt to touch each other was costing us, and if I didn’t put a stop to it, well, I knew things were going to get worse way before they got better.
Edward narrowed his eyes at me disapprovingly. “You're not a failure, Bella.”
The furrow in his brow only increased as I put some distance between us. He reached out to bring me back in, but I shook my head stubbornly.
“I’m not running,” I assured him, “but we need to stop being so open. While I’m here, we need to at least pretend I’m your student.”
Edward ran his hands through his hair roughly and I envied him at that moment. Only a minute had passed and I was already losing my resolve.
“She’s right, you know.”
My body tensed to the voice that suddenly was in the room with us. It was unfamiliar and I couldn’t place it for the life of me, but this unknown voice was agreeing with me--which meant, this unknown person heard everything I said…

As fun as it is to read your story I can't help but wonder, how can a teenager take out/kidnapping an (supposed to be) professional Agent?
So far Bella and Alice don't seem to be professional. Sorry. Author's Response: Ah yes, I thought about this too, and how would James kidnapp Bella? I mean, how would he accomplished that. Don't be sorry, I hope you wait until the next chappie before you make your final assement on Bella...you might be surprised.
Also, I have had some people question Bella as a detective, saying she's unprofessional and putting peoples life at risk, but I did that on purpose...I made Bella like that to show that Edward has messed w/ her so bad, that she finds herself not being focused and screwing up left and right. It sucks that people don't see that. I guess it's bad writting on my part. I have only discussed Bella being this awesome detective, but never showed any examples. I guess I should have started earlier and not the first day she met Edward *sigh* but what's done is done...

I swam over to Edward quickly and raised an arm while he reached down for me. He could only just get contact with my hand, and he gripped it firmly, swiftly pulling me up by it until my ass was level with the jetty, and he sat me on it. He was so strong. I collapsed onto my back in my now wet, white T-shirt and tennis skirt, relieved to be safe again, looking up at him standing over me in silence. I squinted. Edward appeared like an angel because the sun was behind his head, making him too bright to make out.
“Thank you,” I breathed.
“S’alright,” he croaked seriously, standing stock still. We just kind of stared at each other for a moment as if time didn’t exist.
Summary: Bella is walking home during a blizzard and stumbles upon a homeless man on the ground. Despite her better judgment she decides to save him from the cold, and the night turns into something she never expected. Rated NC-17 for language and lemony stuff.
