The Guard by cjmuehlb Rated: R starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 117]
Summary:

The newborn battle is over and Bella is dead. Can Edward survive without her?  Can the Cullens save him from himself and his bad decisions?  Does he want to be saved?  This is Edward's heartbreaking journey of self discovery.  Can he find another reason to live?

Story starts six months after the end of Eclipse. Canon couples.  Rated R for vampire and human violence in later chapters.  Told mostly from Edward's POV with some insight from Carlisle.  ANGST ANGST ANGST!

Nominated for an Avant Garde Award - category - Best Makes me cry/saddest.

Only one more chapter? I'm really hoping there will be a sequel for this story as I find it so captivating and emotional.

I can understand why some might be put off with a story without Bella, but I adore how different and yet hopeful and this story is.

I'm sorry I haven't reviewed earlier, as I really was moved by the family connections in this story. As for this chapter, well it has to one of the best. I keep thinking "Edward's not going to stay like this, is he?", but at the same time, I can understand how in his confusion and identity crisis he can feeling this way. My favourite part would the journals, I can't wait to see the family's reaction to them.

Oh, and imagining Carlisle telling Edward, whilst he's up a tree, that Esme 'does like to cuddle'.

Please update soon!

Author's Response:

Thank you.  You are right about killing Bella off. I've had people tell me they can't read it for that very reason.  I couldn't read s story without Edward so I understand.  Don't apologize for not reviewing.  I'm horrible at it myself...and before I started writing I never reviewed.

Edward's journey was always meant to bring him to this point (hence the title). I had to justify his bizarre behavior that extended beyond just losing a mate.  He was vulnerable because of Bella's death and easily manipulated and influenced by his experiences after that. Concluding he was "the guard" of the family based on very flimsy reasons would only be believable if I could justify his weakened mental condition.

The epilogue will show where I would take the sequel and this story was always meant to have one.

Full Moon Rising by content1 New! Rated: NC-17 starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 592]
Summary:

Banner by the awesome Frozen Soldier!  She is amazing!

We had survived the Volturi and were finally able to enjoy life without fear...until new threats arose.  These were more sinister than any before...because the most terrifying one came from within me...

The lead figure took a few long steps toward us, and I felt Bella stiffen beside me and heard her gasp of pain.  Hands moved toward the cowl of the robe, pushing it backwards.  The moonlight made a valiant attempt to shine through the clouds highlighting him as the angel he’d always seemed.  Bright red eyes scanned the group as a sneer claimed his face, twisting it.  He looked toward the assassins beside him, after one last cold look toward us, he gave his order.   “Destroy them.”

The family tensed at the callousness in his voice.

“Edward…” Bella breathed out from beside me.  Pain laced through her voice.

The figure hesitated only slightly as the weak light framed his bronze hair and the scar along his cheek.  Then as he turned away, the robed figures dashed past him toward us.

“Henry!” my family screamed around me as we braced for impact.   “Remember our training,” I shouted.  “And if possible bring Edward back alive…”

Sequel to Harvest Moon, my Shimmer Award, Vampie, and Twilighted OC Character award winning story.

Ooh, though I was expecting more plot development, this was even better!

That was spectular: soft, gentle and powerful. Just like your writing.

Can't wait for the next update.

First, I adored the honeymoon (take two) fluff - aborable, especially when the detoured off the set script :)

I was waiting for when his little missive too show up! I know Bella will flip if she ever sees his adderessing her as 'Mistress', but doesn't our loveable seventeen year old ever learn? Going solo is a recipe for disaster!

Sorry this is quick, I want to get onto the next update (thanks for that by the way). I'll see you in another chapter.

Now, onto a pensive and problemsolving Edward!

With so many wolves and imprints, it's easy to forget how changed they would be the revelation humans are not alone.

I love the insight into the Mistress - her constant watch shouldn't be that suprising. By the way, go Edward for playing it cool and not loosing his temper or pokerface; he has definetly grown up.

Can't wait for the next chapter. Thank you for updating!

I always read your chapters at least twice when their posted and again whilst I wait for updates. This one will be no execption.

This chapter was so captivating but I felt so scared and horrified for Edward, I kept wishing he would snap out of it to find himself in Bella's arms. At least I found that imagining the Cullen's pondering Edward's dialogue (I don't know if they can hear him and I will be waiting anxiously till tommorrow to see if they did) provided a good distraction. I can just imagine Carlisle's face if had heard “Why didn’t you just send Carlisle, he is better at utilizing guilt.”

Wow, a very hot present and all the better for forgetting Edward's ordeal.

I laughed so hard at the 'what's a Renesmee' bit, and Carlisle as the guilt trip expert. (I know, it's from the last chapter, but I read these two together.)

I will be eagerly waiting for your next update, and though this chapter finished very light and fluffy ( and I hope their will be outakes from the second honeymoon ;) ), I keep remembering Edward's note and his little slip Alice mentioned, pondering when they will come back to haunt the Cullens.

Summary:

Abandoned by his parents, seven year old Edward is neglected and abused in his foster home and his only close friend, Bella, lives in Arizona for ten months out of the year.  It is only when the Cullens unexpectedly enter his life that he learns what it means to be loved and his wounded soul starts to heal.

When tragedy brings Bella to Forks for good, she comes hiding a secret too big to share, even with him.  Can these two tortured souls find happiness in a mad world of vampires and werewolves or are they already doomed by their own past?

WARNING: Strong language, underage drug and alcohol abuse, thoughts of suicide and suicide attempts, mental illness and child abuse.  Future lemons. Major angst.

All canon couples.

This is Edward's story.

Wow, I'm teary at the end there, that was beautiful.

Excuse for not remembering what age they were - but I'm guessing preteens, right? By the way, I very much excited for some more young Bella and Edward. Their blossoming friendship (and love and exterme protectiveness) is perfect, and I could definetely see them being shaped by each others viewpoints.

Looking foward to the next installment!

You write so emotionally, depsite Edward's almost naive and distant view of the world. Bella and Edward despite their young ages have the perfect balance of mature love. To me at least, it was very Heathcliff and Catherine.

Please update soon, I can't wait to see this new revelation develop. ~K

Author's Response:

I have to say this isn't my favorite chapter...I had a hard time with it...to much on my mind.   I hope seventeen year old Edward can help me get my emotional connection back.  Thanks so much for eading.

First, I'm so excited about the update. This chapter was very bittersweet. The most interesting, for me, was probably Rosalie. He attiude was very self centred but you can tell she's just very angry and upset. Keep writing, no matter what pace.

Author's Response:

I had a really hard time with Rosalie, because on one hand she would want what is best for him as a mother, but on the other hand, in the Twilight series she is so adamently against Bella being changed, that it is a little OOC of her to wish otherwise with Edward.  I could have written it either way and I will only say, there is a very good reason for Rosalie's behavior which you will find out...eventually.  Thanks so much for reading.

New teacher and aspiring writer, Bella Swan, moves to Seattle. She finds fan-fiction-creation-inspiration in the attractive and surly playboy who lives in the upscale condo across from hers. As her newest on-line story, From Hate to Heat, develops so does a correspondence with a mysterious reader/reviewer of that story. Who, exactly is reading Bella's/bellybeans' fanfic? It's a case of art imitating life and life imitating art. A fan-fic within a fan-fic story with all the canon usuals. Hilarity/UST/Love and lemons.

Loved your opening comment- I was just thinking the other day how it would be like fanfiction inception to write/read a Fifty Shades story.

Wow, Edward's security is unwinding fast! I wonder what Bella heard. Knowing how observant she is this will be good. Can't wait till next time and keep writing.

Yes... This definitely needs a whole heap of coffee, I can't wait for his reaction to her little hobby. Or perhaps some tea would be better to help him calmly read through the night, considering his little tantrum from earlier.

That was sweet of Edward to waterdown the girl's drinks, and I hope Bella won't be too hungover on saturday, to get in another day of interracting with her surly (ex-)playboy. It might have only been a week since they met, but I couldn't bear waiting for more of their growring relationship.

Ps. I much of approve of bellybean's bakers dozen. She has very good taste ;).

First love the extra names, good choice in the end for 'stardusted', but the Jerk_and_the_Beans-stalk in clever.

Wow, what a confusing review, Bella's right, who would question the inevitabilty of the main character's relationship?  At the same time it was very analytical and very self loathing Edward. Can't wait to see her reply!

Well, Bella's world is clearly smaller than it looks.

I can't wait for the next installment, hopefully with Edward and Bella in that fabled hot tub, please!

Also, Jasper all dressed up? Has to be a pay back prank. Alice will see through it though.

I can so see Emmett spending hours over some Written in the Stars fanfiction! I do feel sorry for Edward though, now even his guy friends will have heard of the silk pyjamas issue!

Author's Response:

Dodn't you just want to cuddle up with Emmett and read fanfiction in jammies? LOL

And yes...you just know he's going to ask Edward about those pants. LOL

thanks for the giggles.

I love the information into the monster's mindset - very animalistic and vey vampire. But, of course, their renuion was the best. Both the monster and Edward love Nessie, because afterall no none can resist her.

I'm so glad you are writing this. I have to admit, I hadn't heard of 'The Cold War' before this, but after reading the first two chapters of 'Downward Spiral' I read Gleena's story in two days.

I love development of Edward's understanding of his monster in this chapter. And he is definetly in need of some time with his mother and brother - not that we don't miss his time with Bella!

Can't wait for the next chapter, Carlisle is so interesting to watch develop, I can't wait to see him in action.

P.S. Loved how they both equate him to a big cat. More animalistic Lionward, please.
