Oh man!
I just finished reading all 23 chapters of your story and I can't wait until you update again! Please don't keep us waiting too long.
Summary: Edward Cullen is Big Man on Campus at his high school in Port Angeles. Bella Swan is a quiet, sarcastic, marches-to-the-beat-of-her-own-drummer girl at Forks High. A part-time job brings them together, and an unlikely friendship and surprising feelings develop. Neither is brave enough to do anything about it, however, and they part ways when Edward heads off to college. Their paths cross again after a year of no contact, and Edward is determined to not only rekindle their friendship, but to man up and actually do something about his ever-present feelings for Bella.

I love your fic so far! I've been indulging in more "broken" Edward fics prior to this, and it was nice to have a more "perfect" Edward to read. *sigh*

Edward lowered his eyes to his lap, obviously uncomfortable with my question. But there was nothing odd about it. It shouldn't cause tension, or reveal hidden secrets, or cause the amount of angst currently contorting his features.
I had simply asked him why he lived in the woods.
He grabbed a grape off the table, popped it in his mouth, and raised his head while he slowly chewed - scanning the trees ringing my office, as if he was searching for an answer to give me. I could see a faint blush to his cheek, and a hint of unshed tears in his crystalline green eyes. I could almost hear his heartbeat pick up speed as he finally turned to me. Closing his eyes for a moment he took a deep breath, willing himself to calm. Then his eyes snapped to my face and with renewed determination took another deep breath.
"Bella, I live there because I'm a vampire."

I read the first 24 chapters in one sitting (over two late nights technically and I was up WAY too late the first night) and have waited two weeks for the next installment and I don't know if I can take the suspense!!

Argh! I have never been more frustrated with an Edward more than I am with Chubward! He hasn't learned a damn thing! I want to beat BOTH of them with a tire iron though!
I have faith that this will all work out, but I don't think I like Chubward very much right now. I agree with the previous poster who said that Charlie should be prepared with a shot-gun in hand. Author's Response: Well, what is happening is necessary to the story and you will just have to trust that we are doing the right thing. It is not as bad as it appears to be.

During her freshman year, Bella Swan's mother forces her to join the Forks High band. Instead of the torture Bella was expecting, she actually meets the five people who will become the best friends of her life. But amid the flirting, jokes, and pranks, something unexpected happens to Bella. She finds herself unable to escape one devastating mistake and fears her life is over forever...at the age of fifteen. AU/AH.
One is not free to make mistakes in a small town like Forks. The tiniest misstep, the smallest indiscretion is fair game for the gossip mill for years. And the mistake I had made was certainly not a small one. I would never be able to escape the shadow of what I had done; and worst of all, absolutely everyone knew about it.
There will be no teen pregnancy or illegal drug use in this story. Anything else that could realistically happen in a high school setting is a possibility.

Title: Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Beginnings
Okay, one small nitpick...
As a former high school band director (and wife of a current high school band director) I have to disagree with your band pecking order. In general, the drummers are a bit "out there" but at least at my husband's school there the most driven of all the sections. They constantly practice on anything they can find and they're the ones that are usually staying to help the director with whatever. But yes, I did tend to put the kids that had never played anything before on cymbals (and bass drum). :)
Summary: Bella Swan moved to Forks, Washington after being brutally attacked and turned into a vampire in Phoenix. She's desperately trying to put her life back together when she finds out that she's not the only vampire in Forks. Will the Cullen Family and Edward in particular be able to show there that being a vampire isn't so bad after all?
