Bella is a first time drinker sitting in the bar where her three-year relationship was ended. Edward Cullen is a 109-year-old vampire who is suspected of being gay by his family when he is dragged to the same bar. Both feel an attraction to each other and act on it like normal people would. The product, however, is not so normal.

Scared and confused Bella has no choice but to accept the help only Edward and his family can offer. A B/E prego romance. Vamps. AU. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse never happened.

Bella didn’t tell him to stop as he laid her down on the queen sized bed in the middle of the room. Bella didn’t move as he took off her clothes hesitantly, revealing her skin slowly. Nor did she stop him when he took off his. She didn’t stop to ask his name, or how old he was, or why she was so attracted to him.

And she certainly didn’t ask him to put on a condom.

Edward is a 27-year-old alcoholic/addict struggling with his recovery. Bella is a 23-year-old who's moved back home after college. This fic chronicles how they meet, fall in love, and struggle with the complexities of their relationship. Not nearly as maudlin as it sounds (I hope).

Rated NC-17 for graphic (and sometimes non-romantic) sex, drug and alcohol use and abuse, profane language, and brief (very brief) suicidal ideation (although NO suicide attempts). No sexual assault, no cutting.

The heat wave lingers. Sweet, savory and slick.  Jasper, Rose and I wade through the humid days, content in our relative isolation. We spend June through August at our family lake property, and this summer is like any other.

Edward Masen was changed in the early nineteenth century (1817) by Carlisle Cullen in England. Later on, he separated himself from the Cullens and moved to Washington, USA.

Bella Swan’s parents die in an accident, and she has to move to the small, village-like homestead township of Forks Prairie with her uncle, Charles Swan. Fate brings her to Edward’s doorstep, and the dreaded monster rears its ugly head. Will she survive the monster?

Edward is content enough to see Bella a few times a year after she has chosen Jacob. Then, something not altogether unexpected happens and Edward is able to help Bella cope with her new circumstances...and perhaps able to win her heart again.

Excerpt from Chapter Four:

She looked up at me from behind the steering wheel, her expression poised between tenderness and curiosity.  “I keep thinking I’ll wake up, Edward.  I hope I’m not dreaming. I don’t think I could bear waking up again.”

In an instant, I was kneeling beside her, her face cupped in my palm.  The heat from her skin was a delicious sensation, the burning in my throat its inevitable price, but one I was more than willing to pay.  “You’re awake, love,” I murmured fervently, willing her to trust me though I didn’t really deserve it. I would try to earn that trust back. I had to.  “You are.  I’ll never be far from you again, if you’ll let me stay.”

Haunted by her past, Bella is broken and alone. Starting over in a new city, can she let go of the guilt that consumes her when she meets a beautiful tattoo artist, or will his own personal demons destroy them first?  AH/OOC

Edward Cullen is Big Man on Campus at his high school in Port Angeles. Bella Swan is a quiet, sarcastic, marches-to-the-beat-of-her-own-drummer girl at Forks High. A part-time job brings them together, and an unlikely friendship and surprising feelings develop. Neither is brave enough to do anything about it, however, and they part ways when Edward heads off to college. Their paths cross again after a year of no contact, and Edward is determined to not only rekindle their friendship, but to man up and actually do something about his ever-present feelings for Bella.
