Excerpt: I looked at the clock again, 5:44.  Jesus Christ, did time stand still? Those fourteen minutes felt like fourteen hours.  As the moments ticked by, my palms began to sweat and a nervous pressure mounted in my chest. It's not the end of the world Bella; just the end of your marriage...and everything you knew. God, how was I going to do this? People up and left their spouses on a daily basis and never looked back. Of course, how many of them were under these same circumstances, I wondered.  How many women were faced with leaving the man they loved because he'd woven a lie so hurtful? When it finally surfaced, did it kill them?

On the last night of her annual trip to Forks to see her father, Bella finds herself a gorgeous distraction from ex boyfriend James.  Thinking she’ll never see the gorgeous Edward again she goes further than she ever thought she would with a complete stranger.   Will this be the last time they ever see each other or does fate have other ideas?

This is the fourth book in a series about Bella and Rob Pattinson.

Here is an excerpt from, “The Spy Who Loved Me:”

As part of Rob’s training for his new role, he had to learn to fence.  When he and his instructor took a break, I picked up a large sword and without thinking, rolled it around my palm like Obi Wan wielding a light saber. 

Jade, Rob’s instructor, walked over to me.  “That sword is for Katana, a Chinese martial art.  Who taught you how to handle it?” She asked.

“No one,” I replied, as I spun the sword again.

She laughed, assuming I was being facetious.  She picked up another heavy sword and parried.

As I sensed that she was about to lunge, I tossed my sword over her head, dropped onto one hand and vaulted to the side opposite her sword hand; I instantly righted myself, and caught the sword midair.  Before she knew what had happened, my blade was pointed at the back of her neck.

She dropped her sword, turned and bowed, then looked at Rob.  “You didn’t tell me your wife had studied Katana,” she said.

“No, I didn’t,” he replied.  “Bella, may I speak with you?”

When we were out of earshot, he stopped and faced me.  “What was that?” He asked, incredulously.

“I don’t know,” I said, still dazed.

“What do you mean, ‘you don’t know?’  You just forgot to mention that you are an expert at sword fighting?”

“Rob, I have never picked up a sword before in my life!”

“Why are you lying to me about this?” He yelled.

I started to cry.  How could he accuse me of lying?  “I’m not lying!  Why would I?” I yelled at him.

“I don’t know why, but I know what I saw,” he hissed as he stormed away.

When Bella and Edward return home from Volterra in New Moon, she isn't sure if she can still love him after everything that has happened.  Their problems extend far beyond the vampire/human power imbalance, as she realizes that Edward will never allow them to be equal partners in the relationship.

The next morning, Bella awakens in a time and place she would have never imagined: Houston, 1862. Far from home, her family, and everything she has ever known, Bella must decide how far she is willing to go to follow her heart. (B/J)

When Charlie threatens to send Bella for mental help, he doesn't back down - but moving on is far from what Bella wants to do. As she ignores the help of others, she sinks deeper. “I thought you’d be okay.”

“I could stand here and waste my pathetic mortal life naming every possible name I could think of to describe how stupid you are, Edward Cullen,” I hissed, my bottom lip trembling. “I could stand here and call you every name under the sun. Alice has already used some of the ones on the very long list. But I’ll just use some, shall I?”

Best friends, a freak snowstorm, and a blackout.  Throw in some board games and nice sheets, and who knows what will happen?

Not everything makes sense to us at first, but sometimes, the paradoxes in life are exactly what we never knew we needed. When Jasper and Edward and thrown together, into a dorm room no less, who are they to deny the twisted logic of fate?

Life is about to get a whole hell of a lot more interesting.
