Bella and Edward are just back from their honeymoon and are attending Dartmouth so that Bella can remain human for a while longer. But, when Renee is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Bella will do anything to try to save her - including taking her Biophysical Chemistry education to a whole new level. She asks Edward for his help and begins experimenting to try to find a way to save Renee's life - and in the process, comes face to face with mortality and her own ethical conflicts.
