Very enjoyable from start to finish. I have to say the two grandmothers were absolutely horrible. Mrs Harris was downright evil, devil incarnate towards Bella from the beginning. Just because Bella wasn't from money didn't mean she wasn't a great person. Her son loved Bella for who she was inside. With the right clothes etc... she would have fitted into James' life without any problem. The only black mark against her really was Renee and her slutty ways. Moving at the drop of a hat for a guy who would eventually dump her and she'd go on the prowl again. The bad seed was Renee always wanting more, but not really knowing how to get it. So when the opportunity of Bella's pregnancy came about knowing that James came from OLD money she decided to cash in on it. That's what that 3 am visit was all about. It wasn't justice for Bella. It was a means to an end for Renee to make some easy money to better herself. The fact that Renee sent Bella to Charlie and Sue in disgrace was an out and out lie. Bella wasn't partying with booze or drugs. The only thing she did was try to find someone to love and want her. Since Renee never wanted her and always considered her a burden. Jane's behavior of harassment with the utilities, rent, ruining her personal character at school, trying to ruin her academic career and possibilities for her future. How can anyone could be so deviously cruel and manipulative? I give great credit to Charlie for verbally giving Renee a piece of his mind when he found out the true reason Bella was sent across country. It was the nicest thing Renee ever did for Bella. It gave her a home. A real home with safety and security and two loving parents who doted on her and her baby boy. She was able to grow and mature into a beautiful and confident woman. Meeting Edward was the catalyst to her fulfilling her completion. Edward cared about her and her baby Ben. He was there as a friend. He wanted to be there with her and Ben all the time. Between Sue, Charlie, and Edward Bella was loved and wanted for herself. She didn't have to be someone else to get noticed, accepted, or loved but being herself. Renee and her scheme for money from Charlie threatening to go to court for her grandparent's right to see Ben. Like she really even deserved that right. She essentially threw Bella out as soon as Harris's wrote the check for an undisclosed amount, sent her to her father with lies, never called, emailed, wrote letters, etc..., no contact before or after the baby was born. She never sent acknowledgement for birthdays, holidays, birth of her grandson, nothing. Edward gave Charlie the money to pay her off and then checked with attorney to check her rights. Attorney advised since James signed away his rights when Ben was born The Harris's had no rights and Renee based on her behavior when Bella was pregnant, arrival in Forks, and after the birth of baby would have no rights either since no communication to Bella before or after the baby and also her being sent away because she was pregnant.Close to Ben's first birthday James went to find her. Since he had turned 21 he has a large portion of his trust and hopes Bella will forgive him his betrayal of her and the baby, forgive them, and take him back so they can be a family. What James found was Bella was happy in a relationship where the boyfriend treated Ben as his own. They were a perfect little family. After Bella finally met with James her fear of him taking Ben was over and James realized that Bella had moved on. He wanted to see his baby. When Bella talked to Edward he didn't want to keep Ben away from his real father. Bella told him Edward was Ben's father. Edward already considered himself his dad and now Bella confirmed it and that meant Bella was talking forever with him too. James was allowed to see Ben and was in awe with his son. James isn't returning to Florida but moving to California to be near Bella and Ben in case they need him. He admited that if he couldn't be Ben's dad he was glad Edward was his father. So no anger and hostility between them. Bella and Edward talking eventually they wanted to be married to each other. Looking for epilogue.

well i think only once have i ever not hated James in a story. This one I actually liked James, good guy, bad situation. He kinda took on the role of New Moon Jake and New Moon Edward in this story. I did enjoy the story and can't wait to see what you have in store for all of them, including James in the future.

I think that it is brilliant the way that they all handled themselves. James is great in recognizing Edward and how good a dad he is to Ben. Edward is wonderful for recognizing James and his role in Ben's life. I can't wait for the epi.

aww I was feeling for James by the end of that too, and I'm just so used to wanting to smack him upside of the head (or more). It sounds like he's really grown up over the time Bella's been away and growing up herself along with Ben.
And as Edward seems to recognise, James had to do a lot of that completely solo, without the support of family and possibly not so many friends either?
It'll be interesting to see how things are in the epilogue assuming we're getting a couple of future glimpses?
It's been a great story, and a much stronger Bella at the end of it all :)
