i  like this more grown up version of Twilight..  to me some of it seems more like how it would have been..  but,,will be interesting to see how it comes out if you do decide to continue it since it just sank his teeth in her... he will have killed her or turned her..

Wow!  What an awesome beginning and second chapter.  I apologize for not reviewing after the first chapter, but I was too caught up -- I had to read on.

I love your Edward.  He had me hooked right off.  Go figure!  :)  I really thought he would take Bella with him when he left her house, but it worked out much better this way.  Edward didn't seem to know what he would do when he was with Bella -- have sex with her or drink from her -- and I'm wondering if drinking her blood was an auto-pilot reaction, or if, at the last minute, he just decided to do it.  Alice didn't seem to see him, so perhaps it wasn't a completely conscious decision.  I also wonder if he knows he left Bella to change, or if he thought he had killed her.  Even with a bit darker Edward, I can't imagine that he would have left her if he knew she was changing.  I want to believe that he thinks he killed her, and is ashamed and that's why he's not going home.  To leave her alone to change in Charlie's house could have been a disaster for all of the Cullen's, so I really have to believe he thinks she's dead.

I feel sorry for Charlie and Renee -- especially Charlie.  Just when he thinks he has Bella back, he loses her.  However, in my world, Edward and Bella have to end up happily together *forever*, so for me to be happy, Charlie would have to have lost her at some point -- unless you had planned to do a 'Breaking Dawn' sort of thing where Charlie could be in her life after Bella has changed.  I do hate to see what Charlie and Renee's reaction will be to Bella's body being gone from the hospital, and I'm eager to see how this is explained to everyone.

I'm so sorry that Edward drank so much blood from Bella that she now has to feed on human blood for her first meal.  That is going to make it so much harder for Bella to decide to feed from animals -- which I really hope she eventually does do.  Of course, Carlisle could continue to get blood from the hospital for her, but that will still make it really hard for her to ever be around humans again if she decides not to become a 'vegetarian'.

I know you are working on another story -- which I am now going to go read -- however, I hope you will work on this one as well.  I'm very involved in this story now, and hope it won't be too long before you update again.  Thanks so much for a really great read.  :)

BTW -- I really love that you write longer chapters.  Short chapters make me nuts.  *g*  So, thanks again.  :)

Hi, again!

I am glad that you enjoyed a little ButtonPushingBastardward...he's fun :P

In regards to his feeding on her. It was total impulse. He had no intentions of feeding on her until she kissed him and it was then that he lost all control. After having almost bitten her during sex, that final kiss was too much. Alice didn't see it coming.

His POV will be coming up in chapter 4 or 5 (depending on how everything flows from here on out) and we will get the answer to why he left her there and if he knew he changed her or not. Promise!

Charlie and Renee were a tough write. Seriously, even as the author I was way emotional. We will also explore her body's disappearance.

The human blood was probably my favorite part to that chapter. (As twisted as that is :P) 

Chapter 3 is being written right now, so I hope to have it done in a day or two!!

And about the long chapters..it's funny, I always used to write 2000-3000 word chapters and no more, but as i started to explore the characters in my various stories, the chapters seemed to lengthen as I learned. so, i am glad you enjoy the long chapters, because I love writing them!

FANTASTIC!! The best I've read yet. Love the alternate almost bad-boy Edward. Would love to next see a little history of Bella so I understand where she's coming from. I can't wait for the next installment. So well written!!!! 5 stars!
