Did anyone’s reactions and actions surprise you? Did you expect this?

Did you mention that she was his imprint in the beginning of the story?  That suprised me.  Although, that is one of the problems with reading stories if they don't get updated immediately...you sometimes forget some details. Which leads me into your next question:

How do you all keep up with what’s going on in the stories you follow if you don’t write any story notes for yourselves?

I just try to re-read the last chapter before the update and go from there.  If it has been months since the story has been updated, I will skim a couple of chapters....but I do definately feel like I loose passion and interest in a story if it takes long between updates.  It almost makes me want to only read completed stories.....almost!

Why do some readers really hate Jacob? Any theories?

I think that true Team Edward people are so passionate about Edward/Bella that they think Jacob is a threat to the happy ending.  I don't like Edward, although for the most part he is okay, because I feel like he was in the way of Jacob's happy ending.  That's my two cents anyway.

Great Chapter by the way!  I look forward to more! :)

Author's Response:

Hey Dana! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Did you get your peek at Chapter 6? Let me know if you didn't.

Okay, I think I need to clear this up because I seem to have confused folks. Jacob has NOT imprinted on anyone at this stage. He wants Bella to be his mate for life because he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. The thing I was trying to slip in is that Bella and Jake sleep together, in bed, frequently. Just wondered if anyone would wonder about that.

I think you're right about loosing interest in stories that don't update frequently. I just kind of forget why I loved them to begin with, which is a shame.

I agree with you about Jake being a threat to Bella and Edward's relationship. The thing that strikes me about the Jacob deal is the level of real detestation some people have for Jacob where most everyone likes Edward, even while acknowledging some of his creepy and controlling personality traits. I've concluded it's because we all loved Bella and Edward's relationship in Twilight so we understand him regardless of his actions. I think some people skimmed most of New Moon until Edward reappears and never got to know or understand Jake. Well, that's my two cents worth! ;) Thanks for your insight, ma'am!

Oh!  I think they just need a character to hate!  SM wrote him as a pure character and all you need to do is love the character and everyone loves turning him into a villan because they need to hate someone.

Yes that's the story I was talking about!  It is an amazing story!  I keep it adding because I hope that she will come back to it.  I pray that she hasn't abandonded the story.  I tell as many people as I can so hopefully she'll see all the reviews and stuff and finish the story.

I hate when people abandond stories.  At least put something on your profile saying you are on hitaus or something you know?

Happy writing!

Author's Response:

You're probably right about people just wanting a villian. I try not to think that way about Edward unless he's portrayed as an asshole because I don't like it when readers hate on my little wolfie. I get really protective about a freaking fictional character! I know that is too weird but Jake reminds me so much of my husband, I can't help it!

I added "For Eternity" to my favorites even though I hate to be left hanging! So if she never finishes it, you're going to have to! ;) I read one story where the writer wanted to immediately finish and spend her time elsewhere so she just kind of quickly tied up all the loose ends and put The End on it. Everybody howled in protest so she went back and rewrote the last chapter, poor thing. We guilted her into it. ;)

I'm glad that Bella has finally made up her mind that she wants Jake. It's about time! I thought she was gonna "rape" him again lol. I'm waiting for more

Author's Response:

Hey H! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Loved your title idea, really! I'll write you about it when I get caught up. I am soooo glad Bella has finally pulled her head out of her behind as well! Took her long enough, didn't it?

I really like this story! And I don't think your Bella is overly angsty or whiny; Bella does overthink everything, but that's just her, and you captured that aspect of her perfectly. I LOVE that she's over Edward. I don't have anything against Edward, but I hate stories where poor faithful Jacob gets repeatedly kicked in the head because our girl just can't let go of Edward.

Author's Response:

Hey C! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! I hope you got your sneak peek.

I, too, hate stories where Bella keeps beating the crap out of poor Jake's heart and then ultimately, goes back to Edward. Big reason why I started writing this. I wanted to see her worry about loosing him for a change. ;)

Reviewer: Graveyarder03 (Signed) · Date: January 16, 2010 02:39 PM · On: Chapter 5 The Hair of the Dog That Bites

Neither one of Bella or Jake reactions really surprised me.  At least they are on the same dag-gum page... They just need to be on the exact same page together!  Gotta love relationships, hearing what you wanna hear, miscommunication... I can't wait for the next 10 days before Milan! :)  The first non-rape (heh) lemon they have will be wonderful!

I only follow about 50 stories at a time, but it is hard.  More often than not, espically on those that update a few times a year, I have to go back and re-read some to remember what was going on.

I used to be team Edward, completely.  But the second time I re-read the series, I was like WTF, Jake is just as good (if not better)!  He is so much more real with Bella.  And wolf-boy... yum.  I'm cold all of the time, so Jake's body would be more practical anyhow :p

Thanks for updating, and writing for all of us!  I can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

Hey Tracy! Glad you got your sneak peek. Thanks so much for reading, reviewing, AND rating! I think you are very wonderful.

Don't you love the way people can hear a whole speech with a bunch of compliments and latch on to the one tiny little negative in the entire thing? That's the only thing that burns in our brains and all the other stuff just flies out the window!

I agree with you about Jake being so down to earth. And dark and hot and built and smiling and....mmmm. My husband is a short Jake so my fate was sealed once Jacob walked onto the scene. ;)

Hey Chica! Thanks so much for your review! I think you are darling and I absolutely love your reviews! I'm having a problem with my email. I can't mail out but I can receive. I emailed you a sneak peek through Twilighted but I'm worried you won't get it since you didn't get the last one. If you haven't receive it, email me at leelator@bellsouth.net and when I get home Tuesday, I'll email it to you directly. Sorry about that!

Thanks for the recommendations! Are those B&J E&J or something else all together?

(Btw, in a couple of chapters, I am honoring one of your requests. We are going to get some serious jealousy going between these two. You know what Italians are like with gorgeous members of the opposite sex! But don't tell anybody else, ok?)

This was an awesome chapter...and It made me laugh when Bella was saying she raped her bestfriend..LOL...That was awesome... I am so glad that Bella has decided to take a stand on her feeling for Jacob...She was completely oblivious to all the comments he made after the whole shower conversation...she sure wasn't paying attention to everything Jake said..but its good to see that there thoughts are on the same page with something is going to have to change in there relationship and soon...I'm glad they're both ready to take that leap..I can't wait...:)

Author's Response:

Hey SD! Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Hope you got my email with your peek at Chapter 6.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter. I can't tell you how much I dreaded posting it! Yeah, I'm proud of Bella for girding her loins and deciding to take charge of the situation, no matter how wrong she is about Jake and Amy. You know, Jake never did really clear the air on that one. ;)

Thanks for writing this. I'm looking forward to more chapters.

Hey, I love your story so far!  I'm glad you updated again.  I'm not sure why some people hate Jake...  Even if you're not a Jake "fan", I think he's an extremely likable character.  I think you've done a really good job portraying him so far.  In keeping up with the stories I follow, I usually go back a chapter, read that, and I'll typically be back up to speed... :)  Keep writing, I'm anxious to see where this goes next!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, Lynn, for reading and reviewing! Hope you got your sneak peek but let me know if you didn't.

Glad you are enjoying the story and I appreciate you answering some of my questions. I have to agree with you, even if you want Edward to end up with Bella, Jacob is still such a great guy, I just don't understand the hate. I think I'll be updating pretty quickly. I do have to get a sneak peek of Chapter 7 ready for you all before I can post 6 though. ;)

Reviewer: CullenGirl1 (Signed) · Date: January 16, 2010 11:36 AM · On: Chapter 5 The Hair of the Dog That Bites

I really love this story. I am normally Team Edward and often struggle to enjoy stories which pair Bella with Jacob. However, this one has me routing for Jacob and not missing Edward at all. I guess it is because Edward is out of the picture completely, rather than Bella having to choose between the two of them (Because then of course it would have to be Edward :)  ). I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

Hey Girl! Thanks so much for reading, reviewing AND rating my story. You are the best! Hopefully, you should already have your look at Chapter 6. Let me know if you don't.

It is wonderful to have a Team Edward member following this very Jake and Bella story! I love B&E stories with or without Jake and follow about 100 of them as long as the author doesn't introduce Jacob as a great guy and then turns around and transforms him into a turd. :(

Hope you enjoy the ride and can hang with it!

Holy cow, I was going CRAZY waiting for this to update!!  The sneak peeks are awesome and frustrating at the same time.  I love reading what is coming up next, but the waiting makes me go arrrgh!!  Did Jacob imprint on Bella?  Is that why he calls her his mate for life??  I really had hoped they would get everything out in the open in this chapter, but of course I knew they wouldn't  because then the story would be over.  And who wants that?? Certainly not me!  I love that they are on the same page with their feelings and intentions, but it is hilarious that they are both too scared to just come out and say it.  Gotta say one thing,  I CAN"T WAIT for the trip to Milan!!!!  It should be really hot.  UST can really explode when it is finally resolved, and I for one can't wait to read all about it when it happens.  As always, I really enjoy your story, you are awesome.

Author's Response:

Hey C! Thanks so much for reading and for your kind review. Glad you got the peek and enjoyed it even though they can be frustrating.

You are right, Bella does not need to go to any trouble to seduce Jake but I think it sure will be fun to watch her try! Btw, B&J didn't sleep together as kids. Must be another fic. More about that later but this story is cannon right until the cliff jump. B didn't jump in my story so Edward never came back. Jacob has not imprinted. He calls her his mate for life because that's what he wants her to be. Milan should be ...ur, very warm and uh, very interesting. About the UST - yeah. Gonna be some more so get ready. Hehehe. ;)

I just want to grab both of these kids and shake them. The whole time I was screaming in my head "Just say it! Just say point blank I LOVE YOU! Is that so hard?"

Author's Response:

Hey Kris! Thanks so much for reviewing AND for rating my chapter. Glad you enjoyed your peek. I loved yours! Papa Carlisle is sooo precious. Not fair for all of them to make fun of his age. After all, he's only 300 years old, right? That's looking younger and younger to me! Can't wait and will be sad to read your last chapter of "Closer". :(

Loved the title suggestions!! One thing I didn't tell everybody: Jake is going to get advice as well (different from Leah's) so the title has to cover both situations. "Can I Get a Second Opinion?" works for both and I love it! Thanks, angel!

I love Jake, so thanks for the fic that shows him as more than a lovesick puppy. I would have thought Jake would have said to her that he was so happy, had such a good time that he would happily start off where they left off if only she felt better. Less anst & no story I guess. Thanks for sharing you fav stories/ authors. I am newish here and love the suggestions. Especially since I have read some and liked them. Nancy@revelation.com. I can't wait for the next chapter. :)

Author's Response:

Nancy, thanks so much for reading and reviewing and rating! You are wonderful. I'm so glad you joined us over here. It is such a fun and addictive site!

I'm going through and sending everybody a sneak peek before I respond to their reviews so I can get them out quickly. But, my email is screwed up while I'm out of town and the only way I can send one is through Twilighted. I'm going to send your peek through the Twilighted system and if you don't get it, email me. This was a great follow up chapter, but I can't wait to get back to some meat.  THe next 10 days are going to be interesting!

I keep track of stories by rereading the last chapter before the one that just updated.  It sort of works.  I wish I could search "completed stories" so I don't get hooked (like with this one) and then have to wait!  I am not a patient girl!

Author's Response:

Meat is coming. Bella's going to be really busy for a few days (I think you saw) but Milan is right around the corner and you should find their travels - interesting - to say the least. ;)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Nancy! Glad you enjoyed the look at Chapter 6.

Awesome story. You're a very talented writer. Can't get enough. And as for the reason why some readers hate Jacob, I guess you're right with your conclusion. They just feel he's too much of a threat to the E/B-relationship (Can't blame them for that, actually lol). Otherwise I would never understand why someone could not like let alone would hate such an amazing character - I mean he's like the best one out of all the characters SM has ever created for the entire saga. I'm Team Jacob all throughout, and although I would never ever pick Edward over Jacob (duh), I don't really feel any animosity towards Edward (he's a good guy after all). So it's not so much the character that I hate but rather Bella's wrong choice.

Author's Response:

Hey Kiki! Thanks so much for reviewing. I really appreciate it! You are very wise in your analysis, gf. :) Glad you enjoyed the peek at Chapter 6. I'll write you when I get caught up.

Reviewer: irishekl (Signed) · Date: January 16, 2010 07:46 AM · On: Chapter 5 The Hair of the Dog That Bites

I'm back one more time (sorry)

As for your question about Jake. I used to hate him! I thought he was a whiny child that pouted every single time he didn't get his way.

However, when I re-read New Moon for the 2nd time, I fell in love with Jake. I really took the time and reread the rest and I decided then I was Team Jacob. The reason why was because I felt Bella fit better with Jake in regards to not caring about money and fancy things. Edward is way to possesive and controlling. Always treating her like a china doll. Yeah, Jake may not be a perfect gentleman like Edward but what guy is.

Author's Response:

Hey E! So when you hated Jake the first time, had you read NM carefully or just kind of skimmed it to get the the Edward part? Or, after some time passed and you knew how it would all turn out, were you able to kind of step back and reassess?  I'm with you on your second analysis. The china doll thing makes me cringe.

So I'm thinking about using y'alls names in the story. Would you be okay with that? What if I needed it to be male or Italian? Would it be ok to modify it? Let me know what you think. I'd love to use everyone's name as is but it probably won't work out that way because I don't foresee them being in a situation with a bunch of Anglo Saxon women. But, you never can tell. ;)

Btw, thanks for the title suggestions. I'll write you as soon as I get caught up.

Reviewer: xfirespritex (Signed) · Date: January 16, 2010 07:06 AM · On: Chapter 5 The Hair of the Dog That Bites

Uhm....I freaking love you. I think that's all I can really say about this chapter. Bella's reaction was perfect simply because she would definitely be that mortified and the fact that she's going downstairs thinking of all the ways to get Jake to love her and meanwhile he's thinking about how he messed up and how he refused to just be sex to her was fantastic.

Also +10 points for filling us in via Jake's POV on his speech to Bella that she was too freaked out to actually hear. I was dying to know his entire speech but you fullfilled that wish already so thank you.

You know I love this story and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Author's Response:

Hey B! Glad to hear "Everyone Makes Mistakes" is going well. You're doing a terrific job! And thanks for all of your help for Chapter 5. I needed it!

I loved your title suggestions. I'll check with my beta to see what she thinks about the f bomb and may use yours if she cuts my original title. :)

This update answered quite a few of the questions I had. Isn't it funny that these two both have such similar thoughts, but are completely unable to share them with one another?
I like this Jacob a lot. He's smart and kind. Bella will be happy if they can just get an honest conversation of their feelings going...
Sadly, I have no recommendations for chapter title. I can never title my own chapters without writing them first. I'm sure someone will come up with a good one.
I'm not sure how I keep track of all the stories I read (at least 150 or so). I just seem to have a mind for for it...
Factoid at the end was gross and kind of funny. Must have been the Victorians- they had all kinds of wrong ideas...

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, Roberta, for reading, reviewing AND rating! Did you get your sneak peek?

So, one of you all suggested I use my reviewer's names in the story and I thought it was a great idea. Since you were the first review I received, you are first up to bat but I need a man's name and wondered if I could use Robert Curry? Do you mind? What do you think about this idea?

So you are a genius, huh? How depressing. There is no other way someone could keep up with 150 stories simultaneously, some of which don't update for months, and not be a genius. :p

Hair of the dog - I don't think anybody really knows when that treatment got started. I've read a bunch of different answers ranging from Pliny the Younger in the 1st century to ancient pharmacopoeia of the middle ages. "A Treatise on Canine Madness" printed in 1760 recommended this as a cure and people continued doing it until Louis Pasteur developed an actual treatment in 1885. I read that fear of rabies became such an irrational terror prior to 1885, patients killed themselves or were killed by others when bitten by a dog believed to be rabid. Jesus. It's amazing any of our ancestors lived through some of this shit.

Reviewer: katieishere (Signed) · Date: January 16, 2010 06:46 AM · On: Chapter 5 The Hair of the Dog That Bites

I've got this story on Favorites and I am so happy for an update!!!!! Whiney, angsty Bella isn't my style at all, and while their morning convo in bed seemed a bit... forced? too out of the blue?... because of Jake's confession and Bella's droning on and on about taking advantage and him being a good friend, I know it was needed as a transition to set up the rest of the story.

Jake's battle with the stove? Hilarious. In a final tally I'd say it's Stove:1 Jake: 0  After all, though it was covered in grease and baked-on food, the stove could still clean up fine. Nothing was gonna fix his Bacon Surprise!

In regards to the Jake haters out there, my guess is it's about the type of guy they are attracted to in real life. Jake definitely has a strong personality and character quirks, and some girls just aren't attracted to him as a person. Therefore, no matter what, they aren't happy with him. Most likely they don't like his actions, reactions, or treatments of Bella because they wouldn't want that in a guy for themselves, and just hate him no matter whether Edward's in the picture or no. Of course, I just gave a very big generalization, but I also believe it's at the heart of the matter for most cases. And I am so all-knowing because a. I'm awesome, and b. I have the same problem with Edward. Can't stand the guy, actually, but I love the books and story because he's ideal for Bella. I, however, was head over heels for Jake by the end of New Moon because I'm nothing like Bella and he's simply my type of guy. He's physically alot like every boyfriend I've ever had, unlike Edward whom I find totally unattractive and mildly repulsive, and I love that Jake doesn't cater to everything Bella wants because I love a strong man who knows when to tell me no. I would bulldoze over Edward and resent him for being so easy. Which is why I'm ok with him and Bella. Plus it leaves Jake for me. :-)))

Anyway. You asked, there's my answer. And I loooooove your Jake. And Bella's totally got the right idea by being turned on over the thought of Jake taking control and being aggressive. Just the thought makes me need to change my panties. TMI? ;-)

Can we skip the next ten days and shoot right to Milan? Cause that would be AWESOME! :-D

Author's Response:

Baby doll, I agree with EVERY SINGLE thing you've written! I HATE whiney angsty Bella, which is why I really despised Chapter 5 and it was almost impossible for me to write. And she did drone on and on. I couldn't shut her up. Drove me crazy!

You're also right about the who's attracted to whom deal. Yep, pasty, skinny, cold, pretty and brooding is just about a list of what turns me off in a guy. Also, I'm bothered by Edward's over protectiveness, which to me comes off sometimes as condescension. (If my husband ever tried to tell me whom I could and could not see and what I could and could not do, he'd be eating without his teeth. Seriously.) OTOH, it really bugged me that later on, Edward never told Bella how he felt about Jacob. It was so obvious Edward wanted to rip Jake apart at the seams yet all he would say was, "If you want to be with him, love, I understand." Didn't you just want to bitch slap him and tell him to grow a set?

However, none of this stuff made me hate Edward. I really love him and admire many things about him: his love of music, his manners, his love of his family, ect. Just because you don't find someone physically attractive shouldn't mean you want them dead or anything. Yet, there is that level of loathing out there for Jacob. I was reading a review someone wrote to another author and it just stunned me. Here are a couple of lines:

"Jacob is too hot, sticky, muscular, young...the list goes on...and on... and on...) I think neither B&E will be able to stop thinking about the other, and maybe in the meantime Jacob Black can drown, or get called to the Marines, or get lost at sea....I am anticipating your next chapter. (And somebody please shoot that dog...)"

Now, the story being reviewed is a J/B/E tale and I'm pretty sure it's going to end up J/B so Jacob is very much in character and absolutely wonderful to Bella. He did NOTHING to cause this kind of venom. ??? I just don't understand.

Couldn't agree with you more about a take charge guy. Mmmmm. Strong and aggressive, oh yeah, supervising and smothering, not on your tinny tintype! Interesting differential, isn't it?

Oh, and tough toenails, sweet cheeks, you got ten days until they fly to Milan! :p

I loved this chapter.  I can't believe that Bella didnt hear Jake's confession though!  That was such an important confession and she missed it all because she was blubbering! lol

The casual thing you wrote I'm just guessing is the first time sex?  I noticed that Bella didn't even know she had lost her virginity until Jake told her.

As for why people don't like Jacob, I believe it's as you said they see him as an obstacle in the way of Bella and Edward's happiness.  Most people don't even read the Jake and Bella parts of NM where his character really blossoms.  They just skip to the E/B parts.  I think it's b/c they never really gave Jake a chance.  I on the other hand loved Edward when I read twilight, but when NM came around and Jake entered the picture i was like Edward who? lol

Keeping up with stories...well, some stories are just so amazing that I remember them by name and remember what's goin' on in them. LIke this one.  I don't have to go bck and refresh b/c I remember what happens.  Other stories I forget what it's about but the banner reminds me.  Then there are some that I go back and look at the last chapter and then I remember what they are about.  But I never have to go back and read the whole thing again.  My memory is pretty good with stories that I absolutely love :)

I can't wait till they get to Milan!  Things are definitely going to get interesting lol

Author's Response:

Hey Drea! Thanks so much for reviewing AND for rating, girl. I really appreciate it. Did you get your peek? Let me know if you didn't. The casual thing I was trying to slip in was the fact that they sleep together in bed at night frequently.

I can remember the stories I love but some of the details start running together such as did Jake imprint, did someone make a brief appearance and so forth. With the AH stories, I don't remember who is related to whom because they all seem to be brothers and sisters, don't they? Oh, well, enjoy your memory while you still have it. Mine seems to be leaking out of my ears on a daily basis!

As far as the E/J thing, Edward has NEVER been my type AT ALL physically but I loved his character in Twilight and really enjoyed him in Midnight Sun. (When SM described the male Cullens, I kept hoping Edward was going to be one of the other two guys described. I'm just not at all attracted to feminine looking men. :p) Since I married a short Jake, (I mean, they could be clones) once he entered the picture, it was all over for me.

I can't wait for them to go to Milan, either. Just wish I could sneak on the plane and go along, damn it!

eeeeee, I'm so glad you updated, I've seriously been waiting for this next chapter bc i'm so so so in love with your story already! As for how the chapter went, I think I expected this reaction more or less from Bella, it was pretty natural behavior, so kudos to you I think you wrote it well and true to life. I cannot wait however to see Bella start being more assertive and going after Jake, I loved her whole 'self pep talk' hahaha! I'm just so excited I cant wait to see what happens :)

Author's Response:

Howdy Miss K! Thanks so much for reading, reviewing AND rating! You are fantastic!

Sorry it took so long to update. I kept putting it off as long as possible! I, too, am ready for Bella to get her act together and go after Jake for a change! Hope you enjoy the ride!

Love the story. And to answer your question about the stories I follow, I usually go back and reread the start of the story then the last chapter. Not the whole thing. Just a paragraph or two so I know what story it is I'm reading. I would never be able to put enough in the comment section to remember. I follow WAY too many.

Again, love the story and can't wait for an update.

Author's Response:

Hey Tanya! Thanks so much for reading, reviewing AND rating my chapter. You are fantastic! Hope you received your sneak peek. You should have by now.

You have a much better memory than do I, gf! I would be hopelessly lost or forget important stuff because senile dementia is setting in. ;)

So, this is a classic example of a miscommunication. Bella didn't hear any of that stuff Jake said in the bed. She was too caught up in herself (again) to notice what Jake was saying and doing. As usual a simple conversation could clear this up.

I'm a little surprised that the chapter ended this way. They didn't really discuss anything. Bella didn't tell him how she felt, I thought for sure that would be part of her apology for attacking him in the shower. I guess I just expected a more meaningful discussion. Granted Bella didn't catch what he said, but still.

I think the reason Jacob is hated by some people is because he's a threat to Edward, and he just doesn't go away. But, really if it's anyone's fault he acts that way, it's Bella's. She complains in the books about the things he says and does to/with her yet she never tells him to get lost. She knows she should, that she's using him and hurting him, but she just keeps on trucking. Now, I know that SM implies that it's all "worth it in the end" when Jake imprints on Renesmee, but IMO that was just her deux ex machina. She kept him in the plot, couldn't kill him off, she she did the next best thing. Stupid.

Author's Response:

Candace, I'm so seriously in love with your story "Onside Kick", I nominated at the indie awards for best one shot at http://theindietwificawards.com/nominations.aspx. Good luck! And thanks for reading and reviewing!

Okay, so they didn't have a truly meaningful discussion. Did you really expect me to straighten all this out? I mean I could have had them clear everything up and declare their undying love for each other but then I'd have to end the story and would that be any fun? Naaaah! I can drive them and you crazy for weeks if I keep them from spilling the beans for a while!

SM says Bella falls in love with Jacob in New Moon. When I heard her say that, it really cleared up a lot for me. First of all, how could she not and second of all, no wonder Bella can't let him go. Seriously, could you? I think it is interesting that Jacob knows she's in love with him. I'm sure that drives the Jacob haters wild. I think SM was in love with Jake too and she didn't want to let him go either, so she did what she thought was the next best thing in Breaking Dawn. Renesmee isn't my favorite, but at least SM didn't kill Jacob off or something.

Of course I'm sure you know, originally, Jacob was only supposed to be in Twilight. Her editors had her write New Moon and Eclipse and they liked Jacob so much that they suggested she develop his character. (Thank God!) I've always wondered if she had known from the get go that Jacob was going to be such a huge factor in her series, would she have made him older? What do you think? It does add an interesting dynamic but some huge problems for us fanfic authors! ;)
