Egats!! My heart just breaks for Edward and his struggle. He is so lost. Although I do see hope and I can't help but be exstatic of the progress between him and Bella. I can't wait for your next update. I do a happy snoopy dance every time I see this updated, not to mention I tell all my friends they just have to read this.

Edward is so conflicted. He wants to retreat but his interactions with Bella don't allow him to. Stuff is surfacing if he's saying things like "punish" me and get this over with. His temper is getting the best of him. He seems to be in that dangerous place inside and with no outlet to let go of his anger. He needs to start up his sessions again and maybe engage in a physical activity that will help him release some of his negative emotions - something to balance him out.

Edward's inter turmoil is heartbreaking. I am glad you told the hand holding from his POV. The way it relaxes him and makes him feel contacted. Your story is beautifully told. Thanks for sharing.

i started this the other day and read striaght through. i dont thinki reviewd becasue i read it from my phone, sorry about that. Twilighted on my iphone sucks. Im so glad your going to have this on FF.net also. i fav'd you there. and added you on twitter. so anyway, i love this story. im a big fan of this kind of ExB relationship. i love how they can help eachother. and i love that bella is the only one who can help edward yet its not going so easily that its rediculous. im reading another fic called "how to save a life" and its one of my top fav fics. it has a similar idea like this. troubled edward- bella is the only to help. obviously your ideas are completely different but i can tell this fic is going to be on my top favorites list. cant wait for more. -Kristin

Carlisle had once tried to explain to me that she was sick; that something in her head made her unable to connect with me the way a mother should. But I couldn't really accept that as the explanation, seeing how she never seemed to have a problem connecting with James. The way I saw it, it had to be because of me.
This is so true. I'm so glad you include this little tid bit. "Something made her unable to connect with me the way a mother should" - unfortunately this is something that happens far more frequently then people realize.
"Why?!" I exploded, staring at him in disbelief. How could he be so fucking understanding? Didn't he realize that I didn't deserve it, that I was a lost case? Why did he keep insisting on trying to fix me, when we both knew I couldn't be fixed?
Edward, you're just breaking my heart here!! *sigh*
I had done something bad, and I deserved to be punished. Those were the rules.
So so so heartbreaking. I'm sure he still thinks this to an extent. He's been ‘brainwashed'.

I hope by the end of this story Edward progresses as a character. This obviously involves being in peace with himself, accepting himself as is and realizing that things weren't his fault. His parents were the mentally 'screwed up' ones.
I obviously would like to see him in a happy and healthy relationship with Bella, but I also definitely would like to see him in a happy relationship with Carlisle, Esme, Alice and Emmett. They all try so hard in their own ways and I know it is hard for Edward, but I hope in the end, Edward will really feel like a "son" and also a "brother" and truly feel a member of the Cullen Family.

ARGH! I knew it was that dogfucker Newton! I wish Bella could kick his ass. That little prick deserves to be beaten up by a chick. Or several chicks, whatever.
Poor Edward, always afraid of getting shipped back to the House of Pain. That's just beyond horrible to think about him worrying about for so many years and never feeling safe.
It's such a shame therapy has never helped him. Hopefully he will re-consider.

Thank you for the update so quickly. Your story is pulling me in more and more every chapter and I can't wait for the next one. I do appreciate the overlapping of chapters so that we can understand both POV's. I want her to just be really still and let him touch her already. She really should make him that offer....I would.
