Such a beautiful, heart-felt chapter. Bella always seems to instinctively know exactly how far she can push Edward before he breaks, but in a caring and productive way. It sounds like no-one has ever found the right balance before in pushing Edward to heal in a way that isn't going to put him so far outside his comfort zone that he falls apart.

I really felt for Edward when he expected Bella to be repulsed by him - of course those of us whom have never experienced that kind of abuse can't really understand the mentality that it was somehow his fault, but I can imagine that someone so impressionable of the age he was could be manipulated into thinking he deserved it. :(

Looking forward to reading more...not expecting a smooth ride but this story is just so granular and deep :)

II think you're doing such a great job with Edward and Bella and how they are slowly crossing that bridge Edward has been so afraid to even go near. I can only imagine what a person would really be like in this situation.

Oh wow this chapter was unbelievable! It was written so beautifully. Their embrace was just ahh omg I loved so much that Edward didnt push her away and just cried. Wowww I really loved it! Everytime i think one chapter is so amazing, i get blown away with the next one :) Thanks so much for the fast update, so cant wait to read more!

I hope you do let us know about his birth mom.  I know from the glimpses into Edward's past that she was aware of what was going on, but what happened to her?  I hope we find out what led him to being with the Cullens.  I really enjoyed this chapter and the interaction between Bella and Edward.
