another great chapter, all this news was bound to come and knock poor bella off her feet it's a lot to absorb for her, i hope she is ok as she has nobody to offload onto, but bless esme her and carlisle try so hard with edward but poor edward just cant let go, although he did try to speak to esme and not give in to his flight response, its all little baby steps in the right direction, maybe the more he opens up to bella and sees positive results it will encourage him to open up to esme & carlisle as well, thanks tracy

I am so glad that Edward at least talked to Esme and told her that Bella knew. I am glad he just didn't walk away and go to his room and hide. He didn't keep it all bundled up. The poor things, their date was emotionally exhausting, I hope they getting to have a better date next time. I loved how Bella said "My Edward" Great Chapter once again.

Even though it was a struggle, Edward is slowly but surely becoming a bit more open & somewhat forgiving of others. While Esme was emotional - I thought she actually handled the situation beautifully. Despite his gruffness I think Edward was hearing her.
Edward is probably going to struggle more when he realizes that Bella needs some emotional support to deal with Phil. She also is going to have a heavy load to carry with Edward himself. I hope she finds someone to lean on herself. She is going to need it.

Yup, that's exactly how I would feel. As I feel about what happened to Edward as a child as described in this story. Unfortunately I've heard real life stories like this myself by the people who've had this happen to them and reacted the way Bella is reacting. You're dead on.
It does make you want to strike out at someone, especially since the victims usually don't feel like victims but as the guilty party. It's horrifying to realise that his mother never stepped in, but again, that often happens more times then we'd ever like to admit.

Oh poor Bella. She cares about him so much that it's like she's taking on his feelings about his past. She shouldn't feel bad about wishing James dead since there's a whole bunch of us right there w/ her!
I really hope Edward's chat w/ Esme makes him finally realize Bella is there to stay and cares very deeply for him. He can stop worrying that she's gonna leave.

Thank you for the update! I think this was a totally realistic response for Bella after what Edward told her. I know when I hear horrible stuff like this it just runs through my mind constantly and that's when it's a stranger! I' m interested at how things play out after this important event between E & B. I am sure Esme is reeling from the fact that Edward talked to Bella, but feel she knows more about how Bella feels than she is telling Edward. *smiles* Esme really is a great person, I can only hope one day Edward opens up a lil bit to his surregant family as well. With time, I do believe he will, Bella will help him. I just love that slowly but surely, Bella and Edward are opening up to each other.
Good help James if Bella finds him, she'll see red. Bella isn't the only one who would pull the plug on his sorry ass...

man, Edward drank from the carton and put it back!!!! I f i was Esme I would have yelled. LOL
I can see Esme's heart breaking, knowing Edward is opening up to a girl that physchologically isn't able to do for Edward what needs doing and emotionally is 17. It had to break her heart listening to Edward thinking she should hate him now and leave. I feel so bad for her but I get Edward adn why he's talking to Bella and not the Cullen's. *sigh*
Bella, babe, I live an hour or less from Chicago, you find out what hospital James is at and I promise to pull the plug on the fucker, after I stick a cattle prod up his ass!!!!!

Wow. Intense emotions! I meant to tell you in a previous chapter that I loved how Bella is slowly schooling the Cullens on how to deal with Edward. Like when Bella confronted Emmett, no easy task, given his size, on how a small Edward would have felt being threatened with being sent away if he misbehaved or the idea of chasing after him. Same with Rosalie. I have a question and maybe you'll cover it in future chapters, but Emmett and Rosalie aren't together right now, but is that a result of that awful thing she said in the lunchroom?

Bella is such a strong girl. Esme has her personality to a ten. She is right and Bella loves Edward so I know she wont leave him. It is going to be a huge task getting Edward to love himself and realize that it was not his fault that James was a sick bastard and I really hope James dies very soon. I wonder if Edwards mom will resurface. This was a great chapter and I was surprised with this update. I love updates, lol. Can't wait for the next one.
