Yes, Edward. What if she is not mistaken!? I don't know if I want to hug him, or shake him until the idea is permanent. Not that he would let me.
And Esme.. poor Esme. Poor family, they love Edward and they are hurt to see him hurt :(

Well I'm glad he question his train of thought now. Atleast it's an improvement. I still say though that you're are making this a great story to read. You pour so much emotion in to this that one can't help but fall in love with it no matter how sad and frusrtrating it gets at times.

I really want to hug him right now too! I think you did this really well, the truth coming out by itseelf rather than having a big confession. It seems far more natural this way. I think that you captured the emotions of the characters and their reactions perfectly.

OMG!!! He is finally finally trying to doubt the way he thought!!!
I know there is a long way to go but still this is a first step!!!
I woke up and checked my iPhone, as soon as I saw the chapter was updated I read it on my bed without even placing a foot down hahahahah and I almost jumped out at the end!!!!
I'm just so glad Edward is getting it, that people do care for him. Whether he thinks he deserves it or not it's a step too! And the way he and Bella spent those heartbreaking moments....sigh.....
I just love this story Nilla! And please keep it up cause I can't get enough! And it seems I'm not the only one!,

*Gasp! I see a glimmer of hope and crying happy tears!* It is so sad to think Edward thinks so poorly of himself but I hope he takes to heart what Bella is telling him. She is exactly what he needs. I'm not surprised that Edward drifted off to sleep - he must have been so physically & mentally taxed by the whole situation. I love seeing his guarded, carefully constructed walls he previously put up to keep people out, come down for Bella.
Even more so, the little voice in his head is speaking more loudly; telling him that just maybe he does deserved to be loved; that what James did he could never have deserved... Edward probably doesn't even realise that as he's pushing those thoughts away; he's actually healing in his own way :)

Once again, such an excellent update! I love that Edward is not making sudden, miraculous progress and is all puppies and rainbows now, because that would be entirely unrealistic, but I'm glad that he IS making progress - you've managed to walk a fine line between not going to fast and not letting the story stagnate, so great job on that. And I absolutely LOVED that his flashback of memory in this chapter was NOT of his abuse by James, but rather of Bella...very slowly she is permeating his subconscious shell and allowing good to take over bad, where before it only would have triggered bad memories. Once again, I just love this story so much, and as always I cannot wait for more =D

Breakthrough - yeah!!!! All the love from Bella, Esme & Carlisle seems to be finally getting through (at least a little) to our beloved Edward. WOOHOO!!! So far left to go, but it makes me happy he's come this far. GREAT STORY NILLA!!!
