Emmett might have a big body but he's still a teenager. This might not be what Edward wants but it IS better that Emmett and Alice know. They love him and want to support him. I think Edward's world will open up tremendously if he would allow his family to love him and care for him. They key for Edward is small steps and even the thought of allowing his mother to touch him and offer him love and comfort in one of the previous chapters, that was a huge step in Edward's slowly expanding universe.

Emmett is finally coming around...hopefully its not too late. Poor Bella - - so much anguish!! I hope she can get through to Edward and he doesn't do anything too drastic. They were just getting somewhere!! :( sob!

So good and so heart-wrenchingly sad at the same time. I can only imagine how this knowledge is now going to affect the burgeoning relationship between Edward and Emmett - I'm kind of scared that, at least in the short term, it will prove damaging, simply because Edward will be on the defensive and his shame and embarrassment (which are, of course, completely unwarranted, but there nonetheless) will likely drive his actions. I'm also curious as to what will happen with Alice now...will she eventually be told, now that she's the only one in the family who doesn't know? So many questions. Great chapter, looking forward to the next.

By the way: I kind of liked that there was no Edward in this chapter. Him being gone made me focus on Emmetts reaction to everything that much more. I'm looking forward to EPOV in the next chapter though.

I just found your story a few days ago! I haven't been able to stop reading it. I've seriously lost a few hours of sleep over it because I can't stop reading!
I am going to school to become a counselor and this story just pulls at my heart! I really feel for all of the characters. Poor Edward, I just want to hug him (if he'd let me).
I can't wait to see how Edward interacts with Emmett after he finally comes back!

Oh god that was one emotional chapter...Emmett finally understands and I have no doubt there would be a number of people in line to kill James for what he has done. I feel sick that Edward is out there somewhere alone. I hope to god that is him calling on the phone. He needs Bella whether he believes it at this point.
