It is annoying that you didn't finish the story. i loved it and definitely wanted more.

Cute way to have them get together, and completely unexpected. It's not often Edward is thrown for a loop, but Bella shocked the heck out of him. I can imagine that a romance is deginitely in the works for them, at least, I hope so.

Never thought I would read of Edward being caught in the act of spying on Bella. She surely will think he's a stalker, not to mention , something other than human, for the speed with which he disappeared.

So Bella is not so immune to Edwards' charm, after all. She just seems to suffer from terminal shyness around guys. Interesting that she can pour out her thoughts on paper, but have such a tough time verbalizing them. Edwards' rescue is sure to raise questions in Bella's mind, wonder if she will ferret out his secret.

How intriguing, to have the tables turned, so to speak, for Bella to avoid Edward, instead of the classic Twilight reaction. Never considered Bella might be shielded physically, as well as mentally, from Edwards' ability. Very clever idea; can't wait to see where this will lead.

Wow, really?  Hmm I guess I can see why you'd leave it here. To play it out after setting this framework would be sort of predictable I guess, depending on how you proceeded. I don't know it just seems rushed somehow, like you tried to cram so much into each of the four chapters and now it's just hanging.  Maybe I would feel differently if I had known that it would end abruptly.

It's a great concept, and I respect your decision as the author to end the story where you will, but it's almost more of a prompt or a literary exercise than a real developed story. My humble suggestion would be to go back and clarify your intentions in the author's note at the end of the first chapter.  That way I think it would be easier to appreciate it for what it is and not build up the normal expectations for a full story.

Ahh so this is done? I didn't see it marked complete so assumed it was being worked on. All the better, short stories can be really refreshing!

Wow that's a different attitude from Edward! I like the idea of Bella being totally warded from vampires...that really will change everything. I'm looking forward to catching up, and hope you'll have time to work on this again!

awkward but cute! Im glad they got rid of the first stages of uncertainty .... cant wait for the plot to thicken!

Oh come on now Boo you know you can do  soo much with these two. The whole concept you have here is wonderful. I truly hope you continue it.

Just noticed the author's note before Chapter 4. If you want to end the story here, well . . . I want to say that it would be ok if that's what you want to do, but instead I'll ask . . . PLEASE CONTINUE!?!

My imagination is not nearly up to par to fill in the very large blank that would be left without further story from a mind such as yours. Please continue and get them to a more defined place and that much closer to happily ever after.

This story is adorable! I remembered seeing this fic in the AU category, but not reading it at first. I recently got Muse's The Resistance and have been listening t it non-stop for a few days now. It occurred to me as I was driving that there was a fic I hadn't read titled "Undisclosed Desires" and I decided I had to read it. I came straight home and searched for it and I'm SO glad I did!

Great fic so far! This is an interesting twist on their usual love story. Your Bella is even more unusually accepting and level-headed than SM's or other author's. I find it very intriguing that they are entering a relationship with the knowledge that Edward was initially interested in her due to her "protection" from his kind and that she is somehow more ok with this situation than if he were a normal human boy, but already deeper feelings and attractions are starting to manifest. Very interesting premise and great delivery of said premise.

Keep up the great work!

OMG this is great!   Lovely ending.  Although i would love to read more, i do understand your feeling that it is aesthetically complete.   Sometimes less is more.

Great little short story!

So my guess is that the journal was under her pillow.  Classic!

And she 's a light sleeper.  Ah, Edward, you are so in trouble now!

“I... I can’t sit with your family,” I stuttered, but plowed forward, determined to try to get the words out, “but I could sit with you.”

 Oh nice one!!

This story is quite charming!

Honestly this story is really good, and the way it was moved towards the ending chapter worked really well. For a lot of reasons (really a lot) it is a really good, and also admirable decision just ending it here. Generally I think you can get the best psychic punch with a short story, and also generally a lot of authors write things that are much longer than they should be.

In terms of the story itself though, while Bella's character was a lot of fun, I think you pushed Edward's stilted speech rather further than you should have, it was a bit over the top. Ideally writing it as something which is archaic and precise but also natural should be the goal. Possibly its hard to tell the difference, but remember, there is nothing more natural sounding than a living language, and early twentieth century English was definitely alive.

On the other hand, I really liked the way that Bella talked to Edward--- specifically after the driving the truck into the ditch.

I suppose honesty is the best policy.  I like that they ended up deciding to be together after an electrifying kiss.  Nice job!
