Amazing story.... I cried like a baby. You really got everyone in character.
Rosalie still wishing to be human and jealous of what Bella has even with the health problems that Bella and Jake now face.
Alice's sorrow that Bella couldn't remember.
I especially felt so sorry for both Jake and Edward. I love Bella with both men. Even though I would have chosen Jake, it was really hard and I could really feel the pain that Bella's loss of memory caused Edward. And Jacob, after all these years still protecting Bella.
Like I said... an amazing story.
Author's Response: Good afternoon, pheebs33 ~
Thank you so much for thinking my characterization was on. I work hard at that aspect especially in fan fiction. I'm so glad it read well for you.
Thank you for reading and sharing your response with me. :)

Thank you. It was a rough one for folks, I know. Thank you for reading and leaving me a note. I appreciate it. :)

Definately need the Kleenex after this one. It is beautiful though. I hope in thirty or forty years that will be me and my husband. Thank you for a lovely story.
Author's Response: Hello again, vampiremom1221~
Well I hope you and your husband will not be dealing with memory loss in that time! But yes, I wanted to show that Jacob Black understood what love really is, in this story. Because I think he'd make a great husband. :0
Thank you so much for reading this story, too, and for your generous rating!

OMG - THIS WAS SWEET TORTURE TO READ!
Author's Response: Good afternoon, tazz~
Thank you for reading. It was kind of a rough one, wasn't it? I like to think that it portrays Jacob as being a terrific husband. :)
Thanks for taking the time to review!

No kidding about the kleenex. But worth it.
Loved the very different take you presented here, and how you wove in Edward's "promise".
And Jacob seems perfect in this (sad) role. And poor Edward..GAH! *sniffles*
And poor Bella, to have had all that and then to lose it by degrees.
Will be checking out your other works....
Author's Response: Good morning, dragontess~
Thank you for reading and for your kind review. I wanted to portray Jacob as a wonderful husband and hope I succeeded, sad though his role is, here.
I appreciate your comments!

Oh my god! That was really well written, but really depressing...especially the part about Edward not existing in her head. Well done.
Author's Response: Good morning, kelseasc413!
Thank you so much for reading and for your kind remarks about my writing. *smile*
It is a sad story in a lot of ways, yes. The lost Edward-memories have struck many as particularly painful and even harsh on my part. However, I think this is one way it could have gone!
Thank you for the terrific rating! I do appreciate it!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I have been humbled by people's response to this story about my human Jacob and his Bella.
Thank you for reading it!
I will be updating the other story just as soon as I've had my coffee. *smile* A decaffeinated update is not a pretty picture...
Thanks again!

You weren't lying about the Kleenex. That is an awful thing to watch happen to someone you love.

It really is. I haven't had this occur in my family, but I have friends who have and it's been heartbreaking.
Thank you so much for reading and taking a moment to respond. :)

So, so utterly sweet and heartfelt. Alice was the most difficult to read for me and brought the tears on. It made perfect sense to me that she would forget Edward but Alice, her best friend and tireless champion, really resonated with loss for me. Good, faithful Jacob still protecting his Bella warmed me towards him more than any other story I've ever read with him as a central character. I've watched family members slowly slip behind the curtain of lost memory and it's heartwrenching. You completely delivered the mixture of helpless frustration and determined optimism to live each day with what your loved one can remember. This story, a reminder that the most important thing is love, is so succinct in communicating it's message. I'm sorry I've just gotten around to reviewing - you know I love a good tear-jerker. Well done!

Author's Response: Greetings, Winterstale~
Thank you for your observations and kind words. Thank you, too, for seeing Jacob's love as being the centerpiece to this story. I am sorry to hear that you've had to live with this slow stealing away of family members.
Thanks much for your generosity of review and rating. :) I do appreciate it.

TEARJERKER TO THE EXTREME. But I loved it. Gah that is SO sad. But amazing nonetheless.
Author's Response: Hey, Shelbie Lyn~
Thank you so much for reading this one. I know it's not the "usual" thing to come off my keyboard. :) Glad you liked it, sad though it was. I wanted to show how much Jake loved his wife. :)
Thanks for the review and shiny rating!

That was so cool! I love the Cullens came down for her birthday & how she remembered Carlisle!
Then later how she remembered then visiting on her birthdaY~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Author's Response: Good morning, fleur24~
It was pretty cool that she remembered Carlisle, yes. Glad you liked that.
I wanted her to remember them having come to visit. The memories can be tricky things, but she had a little one, anyway.
Thank you for reading and taking the time to drop me a line!

Oh my god, I am so not a Team Jacob person, but I clicked on your name and decided to read this one-shot. I'm so glad I did, because it is simply fantastic. Haunting in a good way. Truly, truly excellent. In a sad way, this is what Edward would have wanted - for Bella to be human, to be safe. He said it himself in New Moon or somewhere, that human memories fade.
At times I was reminded of The Notebook, but this was obviously different in many significant ways. I did, however, tear up just like when I watched that movie!
Author's Response: Good morning, belladonna1472~
Thank you for taking a chance on this one-shot. I'm glad that you find it to be true to what Edward would have wanted (at least to an extent, eh?). Human memories DO fade... I just don't think Edward was prepared for how it would feel to him when confronted with it, you know?
I haven't seen The Notebook, but I have heard from some of my readers that this story reminds them of that movie. I should perhaps watch that.
Thank you for your kind review and for reading. :)

so sad! I have spent my life working with people with demensia and it never stops breaking my heart to see how much is lost
Author's Response: Greetings, Mya Ray~
It really is a very sad condition. I'd have to guess that you're an emotionally grounded person, very strong, to work with those who are suffering from dementia as well as their families.
Thank you for reading my little story and taking the time to share your response with me. I have been really overwhelmed with the response to this story that I have received.

Aw, this is amazingly sad - it takes me a bit to cry in fanfics, but this had me going! Especially when Bella said that it was like he'd never existed in her mind! My grandfather has alzheimers so i understand :(
Author's Response: Good morning, kelly95 ~
I am so sorry about your grandfather. It is a really hard thing to see those we love stolen so gradually away, right in front of our eyes, sometimes.
Thank you for reading and sharing your response with me. It has been humbling to "meet" so many whose lives have been touched by someone with Alzheimers. I am sure that your grandfather is loved as unconditionally as Bella is by Jacob.
Thanks again,

Wow, that's beautiful. I agree with Edward - I think I'm glad she doesn't remember him. And what a great life she lived with Jake!
Author's Response: Good evening, tsarcasm~
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. She did have a great life with Jacob. The life Edward wanted her to have, I feel. The sadness was the early memory loss and her loss of her whole life, eh?
But she was still greatly loved. :) I thought that was beautiful.
Thanks for reading and leaving me such a kind review!
