I love Esme!

Reviewer: bekahg (Signed) · Date: April 02, 2010 08:25 PM · On: Chapter 5

Thanks for the history refresher; I love this side of the story! It makes the usual BxE soo much more interesting to have action (and historically relevant action at that).

GD cockblockers!! LOL, I hate that! Just when you think the roomate is gonna be out...

Thank you for creating a no-bullshit Bella who will end any drama early with openness and honesty! So refreshing!

Reviewer: bekahg (Signed) · Date: April 02, 2010 08:11 PM · On: Chapter 1

WOW! what a fantistic opening for a story!

Author's Response:

thank you. this was originally a oneshot for last summer's Age of Edward contest, so we got to the meat of the matter pretty early on. i like how it established the rest of the story though.

This chapter makes me cry- the way E's need for her just keeps growing.  And when he comes in the night and leaves his ring, gah!

Reviewer: demmy (Signed) · Date: April 02, 2010 12:17 PM · On: Chapter 6

This might be my favorite chapter- beautiful dialogue (as always), but also such progress both with relationships and plot.  Love it.

Reviewer: demmy (Signed) · Date: April 02, 2010 12:08 PM · On: Chapter 5

"He looked feisty and not unlike some sort of nighttime fey" This phrase stops me every time I read this- so gorgeous! That entire paragraph is fantastic, but that, just delicious.

Author's Response:

oh wow, thank you.

i always sort of imagined edward that way; unearthly beautiful (even as a human) with that windblown hair...

i like that passage too. sometimes i write things and they come out right and i think "yes. finally."  ;)

The phrase "fretting just for the sake of it seemed ungrateful, especially when He'd gotten us through so much" is something I am going to make a point to remember, and even if that was all that I benefited from reading this story (which it definitely is not), it would be well worth the time spent, and more.  I am looking forward to reading the chapters from Edward's POV; I am looking forward to more understanding.  This was a happy ending, for which I am truly appreciative, but for some reason I feel sad.  I guess I miss them already.  Thanks so much for sharing this story.

Author's Response:

i am so glad you feel that way. bella's faith is important to her for sure, but that particular phrase is something i believe too.

i was quite sentimental and a bit sad when i completed the story. i was proud of myself for having completed it, but sad. i think it's normal to miss characters. it happens each time a favorite story of mine (fanfiction or book) ends.

thanks for your kind, insightful reviews! i so appreciated them.

xoxo

I just cannot imagine having to live like that, constantly looking over your shoulder, all because you had tried to do the right thing and live your life with meaning.  I guess in a way I feel kind of like Jasper told Alice, that in principle I agree with what Edward and his brigade were fighting for, but not their methods.  Even with that said, however, I would not even go so far as to say what would be right and wrong methods in a situation like theirs, because I have not lived it and therefore I honestly do not know.  But I do have, and always have, a great admiration for people who live by their principles.  I am truly enjoying this story.  I am sorry that I am coming to the end of the story, but I am hoping that they have happiness and peace in their future.

Author's Response:

oh, i know. it would be a rough way to live and we are truly blessed to live in relative peace. i tried to include various opinions in this story, because nothing is ever simple or painted in black and white. it is important to consider the thought processes of our main characters - and why they do what they do - but it's also important to take into consideration people like jasper and alice, who are on the boy's "side" but don't feel the same way, 100%.

i too admire those who have principles they're willing to fight and die for. as i said in an A/N once, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter...

I just wanted to say that I am really enjoying your story.  I am American and sorry to say not really knowledgable on world history.  I am aware of the past and current conflicts in Ireland, but I have really learned a lot from reading your story here.  It makes you appreciate many of the little things in life, many of the liberties we take for granted on a daily basis.  Thanks for sharing this story!

Author's Response:

thank you so much for your insightful, kind review. :) i'm an american too, but my mom is from cork so i had abit of historical knowledge (although i learned a ton by researching this story). anyway, it's a fascinating - albeit sad - topic, and there's a lot of information out there if you look.  anyhow, i'm glad you enjoyed Volition; it was a labor of love for sure.

so we completed the circle. So sweet ;)

Author's Response:

:) yes. thought it would be an appropriate nod to canon.

Reviewer: edwrdcu77enlover (Signed) · Date: March 25, 2010 04:01 PM · On: Chapter 26

it was sad it ended but it ended right =) I really enjoyed reading their journey together... it put an insight about those times, thanks!

Author's Response:

i was sad to finish it, for sure. but it was a good feeling at the same time. thanks for all of your reviews. i love knowing what is going on in the mind of the reader...

so, they made it through... (sighs)

what a tense chapter ha?

Author's Response:

i know! but now we can breathe a collective sigh f relief. :)

Reviewer: edwrdcu77enlover (Signed) · Date: March 25, 2010 02:27 PM · On: Chapter 24

ahhh! they finally married =) though I supose I expected the wedding night to be somehow sweeter, it was hot! this Edward can't hold it long haha...

a mean cliffy though... let me hurry and get to the next chappy to see what happened ;)

Author's Response:

i know, it was such a relief of sorts to finally marry these two off! (i say finally; it really wasn't that long in the grand scheme of things, but it felt like forever.) and yeah... i couldn't help myself- i love imaging edward being all hot n' horny and demanding, ha!

So I just happened to stumble upon this story and I absolutely love it! In fact, I am now off to check out your other stories...

Author's Response:

thank you!  :) i'm glad you enjoyed it.

Volition is actually the only story I have posted here on twilighted. the rest are over at fanfiction(dot) net...

Reviewer: edwrdcu77enlover (Signed) · Date: March 24, 2010 07:23 PM · On: Chapter 22

aaaawwww! He finally proposed! so sweet, I guess the least after all they both been through =)

Reviewer: edwrdcu77enlover (Signed) · Date: March 24, 2010 03:29 PM · On: Chapter 21

never saw that one coming! at least no one's dead (sigh)

you scared me up there haha

Author's Response:

aw, sorry about that. well, maybe i'm not. are you on the edge of your seat now? lol, just kidding.

seriously though... i could never kill off a main character...much too wimpy. ;)

Reviewer: Puddinpop72 (Signed) · Date: March 23, 2010 05:09 AM · On: Chapter 28: Chapter 1 Edward

Great- as usual!! Love EPOV!

Author's Response:

aw, thanks! glad you liked it. edward's a tough one to write, not going to lie ;)

Reviewer: edwrdcu77enlover (Signed) · Date: March 22, 2010 08:15 PM · On: Chapter 17

violence makes me sick too! I can handle it in movies or stories but physical violence I just can't... not even in sports such as boxing

well, I do love football hahaha

Author's Response:

i'm the same way; i very well may have reacted like bella in this chapter. i abhor violence, and while i understand it's a necessary evil in ~some~ situations, i hate it.

thanks for your reviews, by the way. i'm glad you're enjoying the story, even if it is difficult to get through at times...

how sad these kind of horrible things happened, I can't imagine living in fear like that all the time

Reviewer: AlliYoyo (Signed) · Date: March 22, 2010 07:11 PM · On: Chapter 28: Chapter 1 Edward

Aw! No matter how bad-ass and hard Edward could get, working with the IRA (or Provos), he was always sweet with Bella. And he made it so obvious that he would always take care of her.

Can't wait to read more Edward chapters!

Author's Response:

thanks! yeah - it's kind of like canon edward... he constantly battles to keep himself in check for bella. there's a part of him that is innately violent, but then there's the protective part too. i imagine most men are that way, but we're able to see it more in fiction.

i want to have the second EPOV out sooner than later so... fingers crossed!

:)

omg! I wouldn't tought Edward was the one making the bombs! so scary, he's going deeper and deeper into that, how sad the whole sit is... =(
