Sweetie, I have enjoyed this whole story, but this is absolutely my fave chapter (so far, that is)! Glad Bella is finally growing up, but I loved Jake's (duh!) snarkiness best of all...The "voices", mental & actual, of the characters flowed perfectly. <><3

(I just wish I'd read B's diatribe, oh, say, 14 years ago...might have saved myself some trouble You been reading my mail, GF? *grin*)

I, too, enjoy the happy dance of joy.  It's a wonderful, beautiful thing.  So glad that this chapter inspired you to partake in it. 

I went back and forth, trying to decide if I should allow Jake to be silly during a call that could quite possible set him off... But, I couldn't NOT do it.  It just felt right.  I can really see Jake doing something like that.

I can think of a lot of trouble that I could have saved myself, in my past too, if I had ever stopped and given myself time for reflection.  But, it's alright.  The way I see it is, even though I would rather not have to carry the memories, those dark times help us seek out the brighter places where we find ourselves in the long run.  I know that I wouldn't be the same person I am, today, had I not lived through them.

Wow. That was really interesting. And Alice was not upset that Bella threw herself at Jake?

Another wonderful chapter. Edward needed to admit to himself that he had pulled bullshit. I want Bella with Jacob, simply as that. :-)

I've got to say, your character development is AWESOME! You wrote at the beginning of the chapter that this wasn't going to be one of those fics where Edward just up and disappears within the first chapter, and I really appreciate that. Of course, I'm Team Jacob all the way, but I'm really enjoying the struggle that is playing out between these two, both internally and externally. I think that this chapter was a great way to subtly reinforce the idea that Edward is not as confident as he seems, especially when it comes to Jacob. Bella's dream and then Jake's inner monologue as he holds Bella really did double duty--introducing great ideas to move the story along and furthering character development for all three.

I've gotta say, you're a fantastic writer. One of the reasons that I love reading fan fics so much is to experience the hundreds of different forms that one story and a couple of characters can take, and yours is definitely one of the most interesting and well-constructed. I could honestly see this on the sheleves and people would eat it up. Especially all us wolf girls out there :-) I honestly appreciate that Jacob didn't win out at the end of chapter one because the struggle is what has kept me frantically clicking the "next" button so that I can see what happens next!

I'm so thrilled that you have been enjoying the web I'm trying to weave together, here.  In all honesty, I often worry that I've been taking *too* long to put all of these pieces together and that people are gonig to get bored or move along as a result.  But, no matter how hard I try, otherwise, I am a long winded writer by nature. I think it's because, as much as I really enjoy a good romance/drama/thriller, I am, personally, dissapointed whenever I crack open a book to find that I can predict where everything is going to go and be proven right, within the first two chapters.  I want to be drawn into the story and get to actually travel through time with the characters in a way that feels believable.  

Unfortunately, writing with the outlook that I have, chapters do take a lot longer to get out than I would prefer.  I hope you continue to stick around for the ride.  Thank you SO much for sharing your thoughts wtih me about my fic.  I appreciate it more than mere words can express.
