I think Edward is drawn to Bella (as always) and I hope it all works out.  I especially think this since he dropped Bella's hands so quick and excused himself.  Am I right???  God bless Alice in this story... I'm so glad Bella has her!

Thanks for updating!

Author's Response:

Yes, at this point of the story we are supposed to be questioning just what is motivating Edward's interest in Bella and how interested he truly is.  And yes, of course, Edward always is drawn to Bella - and eventually, I promise they will be together.  They will have to go down a winding path to get to each other though.  I hope the journey is enjoyable and satisfying to read!

It is hard to say what is up with Edward- He has not had much of a roll yet. Are you going to include EPOV in the story? I love the close connection between Bella and Alice. Most stories do not play that up enough. They always make Alice the shop-aholic and Bella a reluctant participant. I like your punky Alice. Thanks for the post.

Author's Response:

Hi Ma Cherie ya habebi!  I know we all want to hear what's going on inside Edward's head.  I wish I could say that I'm going to be writing Edward's POV, but this story will not go that way.  This tale is strictly Bella's - her struggles, her transformation, her perceptions.  I promise though that we will get much more of Edward and his thoughts as Bella learns of them.  They will be coming up soon!!!

I hope you're not too disappointed.  I know that I also love Edward's POV - his voice is so great in stories.  My other story, called The Innocent Heart of Darkness, is entirely from his POV and I absolutely adore writing his perspective and thinking of things in his voice.

And a note on Alice: though I love the traditional version of her character, I too have grown a little tired of the shopaholic energizer bunny Alice who manipulates Bella continually to satisfy her own whims.  Hopefully, my Alice is a little less self serving and a refreshing change.

Thanks so much for your thoughts - I really appreciate reviews like yours!

Well, that was a very emotional chapter....You had me in tears at one point.  I'm gettin soft in my old age. LOL  I do believe Eddie has some feelings for our messed up little B.  How will he handle that I wonder.

Author's Response:

Your thoughts are definitely going in the right direction.  I'm glad that I was able to tug on your heartstrings a little. Writing this story is a bit emotional for me as well.  I'm so glad I have you wondering about Edward.  We will come to know more of his mind soon.  Thank you so much for leaving a review.  I appreciate hearing your thoughts. :)

Great chapter!

I loved the Cullen family gathering. This chapter let you feel the love that each member had for one another.

I wonder when Bella will talk to Alice (and maybe Edward) about her past. I know that it will help Alice so she feels like she won't say the wrong thing. Now, I think that Edward is perhaps falling for Bella? I hope that's the case...=D

Looking forward to your next chapter!!!

Author's Response:

Thank you for the feedback and the thoughtful comments.  There are certainly a lot of undefined emotions swirling around the Cullen house.  And don't worry, Alice and Bella will be clear the air soon!  I'm glad you're suspicious of Edward - I know it's a little difficult to understand his motivation yet - is he simply being a good doctor, a compassionate man or are his feelings less than ethical?  We'll come to know more soon!

Reviewer: jaymac (Signed) · Date: April 26, 2010 06:16 PM · On: Stages of Grief

hmmmm, methinks the good doctor is taking a wee bit too much interest in his sister's upset friend, whether he is her doctor or not..........

Author's Response:

Yes, his actions are perhaps slightly inappropriate at this point.  We can make a lot of assumptions, but his motivations will come clear fairly soon in the story.  Thanks for the review.  I love hearing your thoughts.

Author's Response:

The next chapter is in the queue as we speak, waiting to be validated.  Thank you so much for the review and so sorry for the cliff hanger - I couldn't help it.

I am not understanding how 15 year old Bella and Edward are going to make this work... guess it's going to come much later in her life?  I do like your story.  It moves sort of slow at times but necessarily so I think as you're building the story.  I like the twists and turns.  I can't wait for more Bella x Edward interaction though.  Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

Hi kayphere!  Thank you for leaving a review.  Yes, I've envisioned this story in two distinct phases, the present phase and then another later when several years have passed.  In about three more chapters we will jump ahead into the future where a relationship between Edward and Bella is much more appropriate and probable.  The later chapters will be much more satisfying, hopefully, with the background established.  I want to weave a story that shows the evolution their relationship from its very inception.

Next chapter will have much more Bella and Edward time - dialog and observations.  I hope you enjoy it.  There will be some intense scenes coming up.  Thanks for your support and I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Great chapter!  I liked the little view into the Cullen house, especially Edward and Alice's rooms.  And I was glad to see Bella and Edward see each other out of group. And I can't wait for that jump to the future when he doesn't have to feel guilty about his attraction to her and where she has grown up enough to be realistically involved with him.

I'm a little confused on one point - did I miss something or did she simply not put 2 and 2 together about the two sets of Cullens she knows?

Looking forward to the next chapter :)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the review.  Next chapter will be much more Bella/Edward interaction as well as some Cullen family moments.

Bella never knew Alice's last name - they have really been friends for a very short period of time and are still learning about each other.  Jasper also could have told Bella about the connection, but didn't have the opportunity.  Bella is a little too self-absorbed at this point to perceive much, but what is absolutely necessary.  For instance she probably would have noticed Victoria at school earlier, but is simply lost in her own world.  We will soon get glimpses into things that she has missed - other students at school who have noticed her perhaps.

I've been major fail on reviewing this and for that I am sorry - I write myself on another site and I know how nice it is to get comments/reviews.

I really like this story and love seeing Bella getting some love and attention after all the years of loneliness and neglect.

You described the Cullens' house brilliantly!  It sounds amazing and I most definitely want Alice's room now after the way you described it!  I wouldn't say no to the writing desk in Edward's room either!

You have a nice eye for detail and I can't wait to see where we go from here! x

Author's Response:

I really do appreciate the review.  I probably could have gone on describing the Cullen house much longer, but I had to stop myself.  Next chapter is much more character development and of course Bella/Edward interaction.  I hope you enjoy it as much. Thanks again and I hope to hear your input again!

Reviewer: AussieECfan (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2010 05:54 AM · On: Sacred Spaces

Awwww :) I don't mind how descriptive you were about the how at all - it helps to develop the characters when you can picture their surroundings in such a detailed sense.

Looking forward to reading about Edward & Bella now that they're finally face-to-face again.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review.  I am glad that you enjoyed all my extensive description.  Next chapter is going to be a long one, but with more dialog and of course, Bella and Edward time.  I hope you like it.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on that one. :)

I loved it!! WOW! I can't believe it!! Well, a little but wow!! I wonder what Aloce is going to say when she finds out about Bella, I mean, she will, right? I wonder what Bella's going to do. Probably blush-a lot-and try to NOT make eye contact with Edward. Jasper will be smirking no less, since he knew all along. lol. I wonder if Alice will notice that there is something going on between them. Hmm...Loved it and cannot wait until you update!!

-lionandthelamblove7

Author's Response:

Thanks so much lionandthelamblove7!  I love getting reviews like yours!  You make me want to try even harder to make this story a rich and rewarding reading experience.  Your questions are great and your comments are all totally valid.  I'm glad that you picked up on the fact that Jasper played a hand in this surprise.  Jasper is going to be an interesting figure in this story - he and Bella share a similar and painful past (we will learn more about Jasper later in the story) and because of this they will forge a unique bond.

So Edward and Bella are meeting for the first time in the non-clinical setting; I can't wait to see what happens.

Author's Response:

I'm working on polishing up the next chapter today.  I'll post it as soon as I can.  I'm looking forward to your response.

Great chapter!

I loved everything about it! The Cullen home is wonderful. Excellent work with describing it!

I can't wait to see more Edward/Bella time outside of the meetings.

Looking forward to your next chapter!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the review.  Can you tell that I am a visual person?  Edward and Bella interaction is coming up next chapter!

Bella can certainly gain some individual therapy now...hahaha  Luck girl!!

Author's Response:

Wow, you're reading my mind!  Thanks for reviewing!

I'm an Edward fan all the way, but you made me appreciate the fine Mr. Black here as well!

Author's Response:

Yes, I tend to think that Bella is rather lucky to have two hot, sexy men who are interested in her.  There's nothing wrong with a tall, muscular, exotic Jacob.  Thanks for the review Elise.

I hate cliff hangers. It leaves me sullen.

Author's Response:

I'm sorry.  I certainly can relate.  I will try to get the next chapter to you as soon as possible!

Reviewer: youstayclassytwifans (Signed) · Date: April 18, 2010 12:46 PM · On: Sacred Spaces

I'm not sure why Bella is so young in this story compared to Edward. I don't know what you have planned for these two if anything as far as being together at some point when she's older. If not, well, I am very sad to say the least. Second, I know after a lifetime of misery, being unloved and basicly ignored by her mother, it will take a long time for her to have any self confidence or even love herself and for that, she needs to be seeing a therapist or pyschologist on a reg. basis. In addition to her group with Dr. Cullen each week. But for the love of God, could you not make her fall down all the time? That's my biggest pet peeve in some of these stories. I think she would gain more confidence in herself if she wasn't so dam clumsey etc. especially in this story obviously. I just feel for her sooo much and want her to get better. She deserves to be happy. Sorry, if you find me too blunt. I am recommending this story to others tho. And, hope your update will be soon. Good Luck!

Author's Response:

Hi youstayclassytwifans!

You are not too blunt!  I love blunt!  First of all, you have some great questions and comments.  Let me set you at ease.  I have planned this story to cover two distinct phases of Bella's life.  We are currently in the first phase, where she is discovering her new life, learning to heal from the past, and formulating her hopes and dreams for the future.  The second phase will be a jump into the future where we will find her transformed a bit from the insecure and suffering Bella we know now.  I fully intend this to be an Edward and Bella love story!  But I want to show how their lives become interwoven and entangled from the very beginning.  It won't be an easy journey for either one of them, but it will be satisfying in the end.

I absolutely agree with your criticism of the bumbling, clumsy Bella.  Bella is only ever clumsy in my story due to nerves, not as a personality trait.  She is simply so damaged in this story that she perceives that she doesn't function normally, but that is essentially what she is trying to overcome - this innate belief that she is unable to live a normal life, be a normal kid.

And as a daughter of a therapist, I agree with you 100% that Bella needs to be in therapy her entire life!  She is a very damaged soul who needs as much help as she can get to find a sense of security and peace in her life.  This is one of the main themes of the story - she feels this intense attraction for her doctor, but she is not ready for a relationship - she is immature (literally and figuratively), she doesn't have anything to offer, and she has to develop a much stronger sense of herself and her place in this world before she can be ready for Edward.

Sorry for such the massively long explanation.  I loved your review - it gets my mind and typing fingers going.  Plus, I just had a big cup of coffee.  Thanks for reading and reviewing and for recommending my story.  It's been so entertaining thinking of it, writing it, and especially sharing it!

Awww! it was awesome!! Poor Bella--what a life she's had at the hands of selfish renee!

Why did Renee keep her from Charlie anyways?

Charlie is doing awesome! He's trying SO hard to make up for lost time  :-(

Author's Response:

Thank you so much.  Yes, Charlie is doing his best, but he has his work cut out for him.  Bella has been so damaged and abused.  But it can only get better - right?

As always - I enjoyed reading this and is looking so much forward to next chapter

Thanks so much ifka! :)

I love your story, and I am intrigued at how you're going to get BxE to end up together, seeing the age difference and all...

Really hope you update soon!

Author's Response:

We will be jumping into the future soon...I'm not planning any kind of illegal love affair here.  This is a story of transformation and Bella needs to do a little growing up - but I promise it will come and will be satisfying.

Aww! Wow this story just takes my breath away! Poor Bella!

She has SO much to deal with--so many emotions & feeling to sort thru. And she's only 15? Yikes...that's my daughters age!  :-(

I'm hooked on this story already!

Bella needs a friend! Alice where are you?? And an Esme-hug!

Please keep writing! I love your story already!

Author's Response:

I know, Bella is such a poor little lost lamb.  Don't worry, it will get better for her; she will makes friends and find support in Charlie.  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
