I'm sad that Edward left, but I do understand. He probably feels that he is taking advantage of her and thinks that the only way to protect her innocence is to leave. So, that's what he did. I don't like that he left and I hope he comes back. (But from your summary, I think that he does come back, so I'll trust you.)

this is a really good story! it's so sad but i know that there must be some sort of happy ending! may i ask why edward still lives at home?

That is a good question and I'm surprised you are the first one to ask it.  Edward is just recently back from medical school, just starting his residency in his hometown.  He hasn't had the time, the motivation, or the opportunity to look for his own place yet. He is somewhat transient - which is an important element of the story.  Even though he is older, I want him to seem unsettled, unrooted, as if he doesn't quite have his own life figured out yet.

I am glad that they Cullens are helping to take care of her.  I am surprised that Charlie didn't throw a fit because she got hurt on a bike.  Can't wait to find out what happens next.
