Just read the teaser in the forum. Then came to see what kind of review I left. Let me clarify mind fuckery on Mike's part no games with Bella but Edward is fair game. I certainly do not want to see Bella get hurt.

Mike as your voice of reason was a fresh choice, I love it. I also love that he and Bella have history, even if it was PG-13.

I'd like to take a moment and say thank you. Poor Mike gets so abused in most Twific when his only real crime was being an average Joe interested in a girl. Don't get me wrong some of the Mike bashing can be funny but it was a nice change of pace to see his character treated with a little dignity. And two thumbs up to Bella for not caving right away about accepting Edward's apology. He broke her heart and then did the Bunny Hop all over it's remains. Jerk.
Author's Response: I really wanted to bring someone for Bella to bond with in in a way that was fresh, so I'm glad I accomplished that! He practically wrote himself, honestly.
Bella's a strong lady, so you know she won't put up with too much crap!

(I'm not a big fan of the boy next store look Mike has). and I'm lovin the email Bella finally gives to Edward. here he is wondering for months and bam she's not even nice when she emails him back I love it. I mean I do want them together but I like when he's got to work for it and it seems that is definitely the case here!

So what do I think of this chapter? Conflicted, actually. You are right about Mike being the voice of reason. I haven't been to the forums to see what other readers are saying but can imagine there is a poll going on with a leaning toward Team Mike and boy does that ever sound weird.
I will say this. I like this Mike. He is happy go lucky and views life in an "it is what it is sort of way, what you do with it is up to you". That being said he gives Bella something to think about. Do I want her to be with Mike? No. I think Bella needs a friend that is not a family member right now. A friend with benefits? Uh, uh. That is not her style. Maybe I just don't don't see the UST but even if I did I don't know that fighting fire with fire is in her best interst. I really don't want Bella to go down that road. I just don't see how it will help Edward find himself. However I am not opposed to any good old fashioned mind fuckery on Mike's part where Bella is concerned. Did I tell you I like Mike?

I can't reveal what's going to happen with the two of them yet, but I assure you that I'm thinking through all of these choices very carefully! I really like how you reimaged Mike. And I'm glad you're making Edward suffer more. Realizing you're a jerk doesn't make you not a jerk. He has to actually show change to lose the Jerkward title.
