Author's Response: Thank you so much :) I did try to write this with James as the abusive partner but it didn't work, so unfortunately Jake is the bad guy here but on the plus side, Edward gets to play hero lol

That was really intense. I'm hoping Edward will realize that falling down the stairs can't be the reason for her injury, as she surely has a patient file with several old injuries and more excuses for how she got them. Be smart, Edward, we know you can be!
And then, I'm already looking forward to the "kick-the-shit-out-of-Jacob"- festivities that hopefully will come at some point. Not that I'm a Jacob-hater, I'm pretty neutral towards his character, but in this fic he definitely deserves a few well-aimed punches. And charges filed against him afterwards.

I'm really excited for this story. I love how your Edward is kind of goofy, people usually make him completely serious, so it's nice to see a character with some personality. I can't wait for your next chapter, in which I hope Bella gets some help, although I doubt it will be that easy!

i realy think that this could be a great story line. As long as Edward is the Knight in shining armour and Emmett and Edward beat the shit out of Jake. I am definitly TEAM EDWARD no matter what story line. Keep up the excellent writing. I look forward to getting an update.

I like it, but hand her a domestic violence handbook already. In my job most of my clients are DV victims. Even though I understand it, I swear if a guy hit me IT WOULD BE THE LAST THING HE EVER DID.
I hope Edward gets her away from Jake right away.
Author's Response: If you have experience dealing with DV victims you will knnow that what comes in the next chapter...will not be what Bella wants. I hope I can make Bella believable and get her state of mind across. I have person experience with this myself and I have put alot of myself in this story. I hope you will stick with me in this, but yes, edward will play hero, as always lol

Ok, you did say you wanted to know if the reader loved it or hated it. I just wanted to say that this is a well-written chapter, and an interesting premise. However, I have read a lot of angst lately and not sure if I am ready for another long ride on the angst express. Abuse is a serious topic, and I get the impression just from this chapter that you will treat it realistically. I have to admit I peeked at other reviews first, and saw that you mentioned you have been in similar situation, so I hope you won't think me unsympathetic, it's just that my angst meter is about pegged out these days.
I do commend you for writing about such a serious subject. I have put the story on alert, and will give it a chance.

Author's Response: Thank you for the honest review, I really appreciate it. I understand that there is a point for everyone where they have to give up the angst for awhile, I have done it myself. Unfortunately...yes this will be angsty lol It isnt going to be an easy love story...with that said however, I am not planning to dwell too much on the physical abuse. I have had personal experience, it is part of why I wanted to tackle this. But it is not going to be the center of the fic, Bella and Edward's relationship is. I dont know if that will make a difference to you continuing to read or not. I am glad you are willing to give me a chance, thank you :)
