Steph, this was excellent!

First of all, buying condoms from granny was just a riot.  All I could think of was that old movie with the kids buying condoms ("we're gonna fill 'em up with water and throw 'em off the roof") and then his advice about two dozen.  Excellent and laugh out loud funny!

The beer exchange?  Well, Jen and Tina and Suzie need to do lunch.  'Nuff said.  And I have tried a couple of those, but will be on the lookout for the rest.  Probably won't find them on the East Coast, but I've been known to travel...

Finally, the heartbreak in the store... really touching.  I feel guilty sometimes that I'm part of the problem.  If I can't bring peace the RL Rob, I do my best to help the fanfic version.  Looks like you do the same.  But it was very touching.  And in the midst of us, the fall off the dock still made me laugh.

I'll be subduing the toddler now so I can bathe the pre-schooler.  And I have to travel tomorrow night so I may not see you until Tuesday.  Enjoy the rest of your birthday.  In the interim, I'll be working on my iambic pentameter.

Author's Response:

Thanks my dearest TWi twin sister!

and yes the condoms.... what can I say but Rob is pretty hopeful there! heehee.

the heartbreak... yeah... we try to respect him... we really do... if nothing else in our stories...this story will always be a RESPECT Rob story (even if i put him in compromising acts... ummmm he is 23... he's got a sex drive....)

and the fall off the dock... yeah... Jen just can't get a break from the mortification can she....

Enjoy the subduing! i have to go rustle the hub from the man cave so he can cook me some dinner!

I'll be expecting iambic pentameter on tuesday! LOL! nononono!

thank you so much for taking your day to read! it really means a lot! and looky! we discovered we are somehow linked! LOL!

have a great night!

So let's review:  techie theatre, beer (and none of that light shit, because that's not beer, that's what you make when you drink beer), music rooms, Robert Pattinson, and now Stephen King.  Should we be comparing to see if we weren't perhaps separated at birth?

Loved this chapter and how she handled the question.  She had to come clean, and then I'm glad she busted him on knowing about BB.  I so believe he reads more than his fair share of fanfic.  He loves to read, right?  Although I think he delegates the RPF reading to someone else, like his sister or a very trustworthy friend (Tom?) because for a lot of our stuff... well, it even makes me squirm a little, so I can't imagine how it would feel being him.  I believe he's probably read I Love LA...  I like to think he'd be okay with yours or mine, too.  And some others, but not all.  I'll just keep reading them for him.  Maybe someday he'll ask for a summary.  I would hate to be unprepared.

Of course, you know I'm thrilled beyond measure that they restarted in the kitchen.  Yeah!  Probably only get in one more chapter before the bathing rituals begin.  I'm diligent, though... I'll be seeing you during the week!

Author's Response:

HAHAHHA! i was born in maryland... so maybe...LOL!

and to add to your list, yes the kitchen.... heehee

that would be funny if TomStu reads it for him...maybe he even forwards the funny stuff right to rob...

ah yes... the bathing rituals... i'm waiting for hub to make me my dinner...(no he doesn't always...that would be COOL if he did...nope-its my bday... so he has too...)

can't wait for your reviews this week! i am enjoying them immensely! and we should just assume we are related in some weird Twilight Universe... cuz the similarities are a little freaky!

thanks my dear!

you got so far today! I am proud!

Well, that was just wonderful!  And I so believe that he read The Office!  This is for you, Steph:

There once was a heartthrob from London
Who longed for his pants to be undone
He met a gal, Jen
Who said "Just tell me when"
So they languished in bed and had much fun.

Trust me, I know how bad it is, but you distracted me quite a bit so it was hard to multi-task.  Plus it's bath night for the wee one, so I have to hurry.  But I loved the music room and the duet.  How wonderful that she gets to reconnect with her music.  I had a good friend who was studying at Julliard while we were in HS.  She had a pretty traumatic life event right after graduation and instead of going on to Boston Conservatory, she went on to nursing school. Not that she wasn't a great nurse and very compassionate, but she had more talent in her little pinky toe than I had in my entire flute-playing body.  She "dabbled" on the flute better than I was working at it every day.  The passion he refers to... it matters.  Not that you don't obviously know, but that touched me a lot.

Loving it!  Guess what... Tina's favorite color is green, too, but I really think you'll enjoy their version of twenty questions, too.  It takes her a lot more to answer the question than just "Green."

Off to the Next!

Author's Response:

LMAO! I loved the limerick!

glad you liked the music room! i sighed when I read yours as well.... there is somethign about Rob/showers/and pianos i think...

oh and beer... but we will have that discussion later....smirks...

sad about your friend... i know exactly how it is... I wish I still played the cello (yep played the cello..)

oooh! can't wait for the 20 questions! yeah...Rob doesn't get too much outta will be a recurring theme...she's alittle mysterious... but that is part of the denial/grief thing too.

thanks my dear! wow! quite the marathon this weekend!

I love how you keep mentioning the "Classics" in your story.  I do so love the list, and LauraCullen, who is also my dear ficfriend twanza's val-beta.  Such a teeny-tiny world we live in.

Hmmm... I have this strange and random thought in my head sometimes about a college course in fanfiction with a stuffy professor (not you, dear) positing a query like this for an exam:  "While the tabloid coverage of Mr. Pattinson seems continually drawn to questions of personal hygiene and bathing habits, his fanfiction alter-ego seems to spend a great deal of time in the shower.  Provide a theory to explain this, citing references as appropriate.  There are no wrong answers, only incomplete ones."  I know... I'm odd and it has been a very long time since college.  I so would have taken that class!  Although Introduction to Wine and Spirits for two credits would probably still have remained my favorite because, well, it was drinking for credit.

What a tragic story for our Jen.  My heart breaks for her.  From the sound of it, she not only lost her baby but the ability to have any more.  And she hasn't grieved that loss yet (if I understood her correctly).  I was going to go back and analyze but then the whole shower thing happened, and my inner toddler got involved, and... well, let's just say it was ugly and you were right there with me while I was cooking.  It's a good thing garlic potatoes are supposed to be well-browned.  That's all I'm sayin'.  So I will assume you are going to explore further and will move forward, because I want to know what comes (ahem) next.

Love this!  Thank you for writing!  And I will deliver on a rhyming review at some point, but when they end as lemony as this one, I can only think of limericks, and that just won't do.  Or maybe it will... "There once was a heartthrob from London..."  Hmmm... maybe there will be more on this topic later...

Author's Response:

So think i need to put in a disclaimer that reading this story while in the kitchen is dangerous! you with potatoes and another almost burnt her Salmon! HILARIOUS!

yes..the list was my cherry dear fic pusher theatregirl got me started... the rest is history... And Laura even reads this story!

it's like having Laurence Olivier in the audience of the show you are starring in....ok well he's dead and that would smell... Ian McKellan then! but i know you understand....

the fan fic class would be awesome, i have a canadian student who actually took a creative class similar to that.and i would TOTES do the wine and spirits class...even though I am allergic now... I would take one for the team!

Yes, Jen has had a tragic life... you are smart to clue into the not being able to have kids will be discussed more...and then later on again...

she hasn't really grieved... she thinks she has... but really- she's in denial.... which adds to her insecurities...

yes you like my bait and switch? nothing like a good Rob shower to distract you from dead husbands and burning potatoes! hahahha!

there was a heartthrob from London... who found himself in quite the conundrum....

thanks my dear!

enjoy your Extra spiced garlic potatoes!

I'm waiting for an author's note in iambic pentameter... no pressure, but it's become your "thing" for me.  I try to write snarky disclaimers, which nobody reads because they are up top before the schmexing.  But your rhymes have drawn me in.  I will endeavor to give you a rhyming review at some point, but not now because somehow I have to go from reading this fabulous lemony goodness to making dinner for my husband and two bickering daughters!  Heavens!

Very very well done... I'm very curious to know who was on the other end of that phone call, but otherwise, I'm quite, ahem, sated at the moment.  And as much as my inner toddler wants to click Next, I have to cook now.  See you in a couple of hours!  This is such a fun ride!  Yeah!  Thank you very much for finding me so that I could, in turn, find you!

Author's Response:

HAHAH! I think i gave up on the poems at some point! LOL!

yes...dinner for the fam always comes first! hahaha!

thanks for spending the afternoon with me! I really appreciate it!

oh and it was nick on the other line... no real need for secrecy on that...

thanks my dear!

I laughed so hard during the getaway that I couldn't see!  The restaurant exchange alone... I loved it!  How did Mr. and Mrs. J manage to have such an unattractive son?  Poor Jen.  Tragic that she will have to watch food enter that maw at some point, if he can find an Indian or vegetarian restaurant, that is!

And of course, the kiss.  Loved the kiss.  She has been careless and he clearly  had to know she knew a lot more than she was letting on, but now we know why he didn't comment.  Intriguing, eh?  He seems a bit more than intrigued so the arrival at the island should be an interesting one.  Good thing she operates the boat on autopilot or it might end up drifting somewhere in the Pacific when the tide goes out.  Cuz I don't think her brain will be fully functioning by the time they hit the shore or the dock or whatever is on the other end of this little boat ride!

Off to the Next...

heehee... it's a straight shot to her private dock... so yeah... distractions aside... they shouldn't hit anything on the way...unless an Orca comes along... The house is really real... My dad has his dream house up there... and Orcas would be the best getaway for Rob...

I'll take Mr. Voracious anyday! Claire & Victoria listening to a bit of classical or maybe a little dance music?   I love how you've written his family.  I assume once Lizzie arrives Rob will find out just what Nick has done.  Love it!  Cannot wait to read that chapter!

Author's Response:

yeah maybe a little Lizzie Pattinson Techno? or a little Coltrane jazz? hahaha!

glad youare loving the family...there are lots more of them coming up, and chapter... the dreaded Nick discussion now that Lizzy is back... Duh Duh DUHHHHHH!

thanks my dear!

Reviewer: KrisB (Signed) · Date: January 17, 2010 07:38 PM · On: Chapter 3- Preparations

Oooh - several snort-inducing events in this chapter, Steph!

The dynamic with the Johnsons is priceless.  Mrs. J is absolutely fantastic, and the interaction with Mr. J reminded me of a friend from work and I who learned to speak in code during a labor strike.  The strike security people were just a little too intense most of the time, and their codespeak was hysterical.  Blended with corporate speak, we got to memorized phrases like "Base Charlie Alpha this is Master One with two packages to take to Hotel Hotel Over - Copy two packages - Tango Yankee"  Ummm... The guy whose initials were CA needed to drive the van to the main pickup site so two people could get a ride to the Hilton.  He understood.  The guy who asked said Thank You (Tango Yankee).  All of this by Nextel.  I never forgot the lingo!  Tango Yankee for the flashback laugh!

Oh, yeah, and your Rob is incredibly sexy.  Is it just me, or does he seem like he'd be an expert hugger?  Of course, that would involve platonic feelings, which would take time to develop, after subduing all the other non-platonic feelings, but still... I just thought you should know that I'm falling for your Rob, too.

Off to click Next...

Author's Response:

you just made ME snort with the covert story! yeah. i've had to do security details and the code speak is hilarious! throw in there a paranoid veteran... and you got Mr. J! oh i heart him...

so glad you like my Rob... i too did ENDLESS hours of *cough cough* research on him. seriously Pre-NTE I had maybe 10 pics of him on my computer... now i have 2 photobucket accounts and 2000 plus picks of the pretty, as well as Barnes photos and research on places in London and Isle of Wight (oh yes i am going there....)

glad you are enjoying! thanks for reading and rating my dear!

I have seen all your movies; you are the hottest thing ever. Please can I just sniff you?

It's possible that I have spent more time pondering how he would smell than some residents of the Midwest have spent pondering tornados.  I love that you go there almost immediately.  And then the Darjeeling!  That killed me.  *thud* *ded*

The way you are developing their friendship is really great.  I think her mad mental scramble is perfectly realistic and very entertaining.

FYI - as long as that little red Next link is there, it's so hard for me to be a good reviewer, but I'm trying, really!  My inner toddler just wants to grab the mouse and go "click!".  But I am really enjoying myself!

Author's Response:

LOL! i think you and I must have a cosmic link... because I can be caught at work drifting off on Rob-isms....

and scent is BIG for me... Darjeeling...mmmm. I had a guy who drank it- and yes... i could smell it on him... and yes.. i was known to sniff him... chuckles...

i totally understand about the NEXT button.... it's like a siren song.... "click me now...."

glad you are enjoying and thankyou for taking the time this Sunday afternoon!

Hey, Steph!

I coudn't resist... so the To Do list for Sunday got changed up a bit and it looks like you and I will be spending a couple of hours together!

The dream interruption was fabulous... moving from "baby" to "beep" was hysterical and very well done.  I live in the Philly radio market, and the radio DJ I listen to for wakeups is actually Danny Bonaduce.  You don't want to know how many times Rob has morphed into David Cassidy and then Danny Bonaduce/Patridge.  Too funny!

You know how I am about my funny.  On to the next...

Author's Response:

heeheee...giggling like a schoolgirl! welcome to the NTE madness!

so that's where Danny Bonaduce ran off to! We used to have him here in Los Angeles! he was pretty funny for the drive in to work! dreams tend to end with WEEPWEEEPWEEP, which doesn't really sound like baby... so there ya go!

yippee! i am so tickled to have amended your sunday list!

thanks for coming on board! sorry there are so many chapters to catch up on... I'm a wordy ass bitch...

thanks for the R&R! see you on the next one!

Holy mother of all that is holy! I read this on my phone, so I couldn't review, but I jumped up to my computer so that I could right away.  WOW.  SOOOOO much happened in this chapter. This is by far my favorite chapter yet, and it is only chapter 5. Goodness, I have so much more reading to do! But I am so exciting. I cannot wait to find out about Jenn's pain, her husband, everything. And the smut was soooooo hot, bb. It really was. Gah. I love this. I love you. Muah!

Author's Response:

LMAO! you are too funny! yeah..big meaty chapter...heehee.

squee...your favorite chapter?! heeheehee... i am so excited to have you reading! Lots of explanations in the next chapter.. and look you don't have to wait for it! isn't that AWESOME!?

glad you liked the smut... it's my early smut... be prepared... i have had lots of practice since then.... chuckle smirk...

Such an enjoyable chapter.  I smiled all the way through.  I loved the whole Catholic thing.  I couldn't help but laugh as he said the Prayer Before Meals.

Great job, girl!  I really enjoyed it and I look forward to your next chapter.

Author's Response:

thanks my dear! yeah..the whole catholic thing will be fun with midnight mass and all...I'm a "fallen" catholic by's really too hard to explain... so i know just enough to get me in trouble... LOL! but can you imagine Rob in his soft little voice reciting the Prayer?!

is it wrong that i find that sexy? yeah...probably but "Since I'm going to Hell" sorry if i offend anyone... religion and i are like a science experiment... Although I truly believe you can find God in an old cathedral... i spent Easter Mass in an old gothic church in France once... It was the closest to finding god i think I had ever been...

ok weird religious babble over... sorry....again...not wanting to offend.

thanks my dear! new chapter will be up in a few days...MWAH!

Sigh.. Theat was so very nice..  And this: "You are my everything, Jennifer. Everything." I almost died- That is my favorite line in New Moon. This was way hot- loved how the family had to turn up the music! LOL! And her connection with the Pattinsons is great for her, it's so sad she really Didn't have a family.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much my dear!

I love it when men make those kind of declarations, and to come from Rob?! DIE!

heehee...the music was kinda funny... wonder if they would have heard the ruckus if they had been in his room? (although in my head his room sits over the main sitting room... so probably!)

The Pattinson's truly are great for her, in so many ways...she has been without family for a long time.. We will learn more of her family past as she opens up more to Rob. But yes, her childhood was MUCh different than Rob's. should make Christmas interesting!

thanks my dear!
