Reviews For Need to Escape

Had to reread. I am now savoring.  This was a critical chapter.  THE MUSIC connection.  It spoke to their delicate emotional internal wiring.  This is where their true passions were confirmed. Music is a barometer to how we deal with the world. This is where we soak in our own internal dialogues. And you picked Rachmaninoff.  So passionate and also so beautiful at times, one of my favorites (Piano COncerto Opus #2) that it brings me to tears. Yes, I play. In rereading I cried at the emotions brought forth. How many important events in our lives are so strongly evoked by music.

I always re visit favorite books.  Hence this story has spoken to me.  I am totally enthralled.

Author's Response:

thanks so much Linda! wow!

you are going to love the RPOV's of the musical moments...

some future musical moments coming up... Jen loves her Bach cello pieces. Suite for Cello No. 6 in D Major III. Courante

Brahm's Sonata for Cello and Piano NO.2 in F major Op. 99 Adaggio Affetuoso

and Beethoven's Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 2 in G Minor Op 5  No.2 Adagio sostenuto Ed Espressivo

most of the recordings i listen to are either  Yo Yo Ma or Rostropovich and Rudolf Serkin....

thanks my dear! yes...music is very important to them. and the Rachmaninoff is one of my faves.

Hi Steph! It's 3 am here and I can't stop reading about RobJen! I wanted to make a comment that sort of stroke a chord with me in this chapter. At the beginning, Rob asks Jen whether she thinks they would always feel this way about each other and want each other so desperately. I spent some time thinking about it and I have to say I am conflicted over the answer. The "rational" part of me says no. No matter how deeply in love they are right now, give it a few years and the great passion will subside and, hopefully, if they are lucky and a well-matched couple, they will find some common ground on which they could keep their relationship emotionally and physically satisfying. On the other hand, we are talking about Robert Pattinson and the awed fangirl in me says that Jen would always love him with the same passion for the rest of her life. I am wondering whether that kind of everlasting love really exists...I wish I knew.

B.

Author's Response:

I think another answer may be also that no, they won't always feel this way, it will continue to grow... which is along the same lines of changing as they learn about one another and mellow out.

he really says... "Do you think we will always be like this, Jen? Never able to get enough of one another?" he whispered, so soft I almost missed it, even lying right next to him.

does he mean the passion? or does he mean that they are linked more deeply than mere physical contact? that they are becoming one that you can't have one without the other.

hahah.. it's late here too. and i have had a whirlwind day...

Rob is young. maybe he also is just so enamored of this first real feeling of love that he hopes that Edward is right... oh rob.. edward is a fictional character... not a philosopher!

i can only hope that there is love like that out there. Not to belittle my love for my hubs... but we definitely fit into your first category...

isn't it fun to get all philosophical in the wee hours?

thanks my dear!

love ya!

Steph, I just loved this chapter! So romantic...you have a great way with words. I am so happy that I finally returned to RobJen. I missed them! I got completely immersed in LOC in the past week and I find that your Rob and Chris's Rob are very similar which is great because "my" Rob is very similar to "yours" if you know what I mean...just a normal guy with insecurities, great passion, shy but driven...

God, I have to visit England sometime soon! I have so many English friends who keep telling me to come visit.

Thank you for the fabulous entertainment! Go Tri-Os!

Bethany

Author's Response:

thanks my dear bethany!

yep..Chris and I are twins, separated at birth....that's our story and we are sticking with it! LOL!

THey are becoming comfortable with one another.  Setting up housekeeping.  Rob's fear of crowds.  More so because of what it does to Jen.  It's great how she helps him control his impulsiveness. Now is not the time for them to COME OUT. They are going to be a great team.  Waiting for Christmas.  And then -----real life. That's going to be a whirlwind of emotions for both of them.

And I wait.

Great story.

Author's Response:

YAY! you made it to the last chapter! thanks so much for all the wonderful reviews Linda! they have been so wonderful to read these last few days!

They are definitely becoming more comfortable. A real couple. They work very well together... providing strength when the other needs it.

Definitely NOT the time to come out, however excited Rob may be to sing it from the rooftops.. the next few months are going to be hard enough with Bel Ami, Remember ME, all of it... just daily life will be hard.. And what does jen have planned for herself when Rob starts filming? She has some things to take care of in order to move forward.

And christmas! So excited to get there.. next chapter will be up in a few days...

thanks so much Linda, for taking the journey with us!

Love ya!

Lovely surprise.  What a gift. Having a dream realized and a dear heart intuitive enough to make it happen.  The Beatles.

Ah "Yesterday"  I believe in Yesterday. That was my favorite along with "Something in the Way She Moves" My husband's song for me.

You did your research well. Beatles. Loved them. Iconic. 60's

Fears confronted. On the way to it doesn't matter.

Author's Response:

what a gift indeed!  and to give her that little bit of the world that he can... gah! magical...

to be able to have a night of the Beatles with the man of your dreams!

I simply love the Beatles, can you tell? Another big British influence to the world...Timeless.

all those fears and worries. they play off one another.. and Rob and Jen step up and help each other out as it threatens to overwhelm. they are really well matched in so many ways.

thanks Linda!

This is the first chapter when I forget that this was Rob Pattinson.  He's Rob. This a love story that can happen to anyone.  It could me mine or yours. Dear, dear Jen.  Independence.  Very real and very necessary to one's sense of self.  One can be sovereign in a relationship when we communicate the guidelines. He has this innate need to protect who and what he cares about.  In the extreme it is controlling. His loving enthusiasm has to morph into discussing, communicating ideas and plans so that they share in the final outcome.  Jen is starting to teach him that. That he loves her and she him will help them achieve this most important life-sharing reality.  His sweetness is most disarming. Then there is the fact that she will have to share his larger than life personna with the world.

She needs her own purpose to counteract his career. She cannot be this person whose life remains on hold while he stuns the world with his overwhelming presence.  She has to matter first to herself. Then they will have a lot to share.

Wordy and philosophical.  I want them to be happy.

Author's Response:

She definitely needs her own purpose... she is too independent to survive being in his shadow... but what a shadow he has! she is going to have to deal with sharing him as well.

They are learning so much form one another... to love to give in, to listen.. all the things necessary in a good open relationship.

they're going to have some challenges... but as long as they do it together... they'll come out happy.

thanks Linda!

Where to begin. Father/son talk. Dear sweet Dad.  Trying to keep his son grounded. Focused. His "drive".  Beautiful. Try insatiable. Well matched. voracious appetites. Jen clocking the perv in the club--fantastic. Cool, Jen. It's what I would have done. Rob's house. Love the against the door, wall sexing.  Indescribably primal. Heady  and mindblowing. He bought a house. Private, grownup. Special. Theirs.

The cougar thing.  I married a younger man when in my mid thirties. Still married.  Totally relate.  The world is so lopsided. Men do it all the time. Why not women. We can match them.  We are in our prime and can deliver their fantasies.  Hear us roar.

Way to go Steph.  This story gets better and better.

Author's Response:

Oh how i love Mr.P.... a good man... good to his son and his newly "adopted" daughter...

and Jen and the perv... yeah...she is getting bolder in her convictions.

the house... oh my a lot of rooms to look into...

she's got to get over the cougar thing... yes it will be an issue, but she needs to stand tall and show she isn't afraid.

RAAWWWWR! exactly....

thanks my dear!

going to your next!

What a delightful chapter. Sister Lizzie waking ROb up. Morning surprise.  Gotta love her reaction. Carefree, fun stuff. Snowballs and shopping.  Mama Clare filling her in on her shy, sensitive boy.  It's like they understand how necessary she is to him. She is like the oxygen he needs to breathe. And he is the music that fills all the empty forgotten places in her soul.   They want it to work. Oh happy, happy day. Christmas time and love is in the air.  Magic time. Magic place. "Snowflakes fall in British accents"  Your imagery makes this story all the more precious.  I know real life is coming for them. But right now.  Time is suspended. THe type of memories that will live in your heart forever. THe kind you will remember and reflect on when you are so much more than twenty. Beautiful.

Author's Response:

Oh Linda you made me cry again.

you really touch on so much that was important to me in writing this story. I simply adore you. I love that you get so much more than just the schmexin... because it is so much more than that...

It's about a man and a woman, both lost without the other, finding the other half of their soul.

Jen is finding she is not so lost anymore. that she can love again just as much as she did with Mike. and Rob is finding out there is something so much more important than work and life.

To have a family like the Pattinson's even if they are fictitious here, must be so amazing to experience.

christmas is such a magical time. How wonderful to be able to experience the beauty of love and family at that time. To see Rob at his most genuine.

Yep...real life will continue to challenge them.. and Rob's RL is so much more complicated. They are going to have to work together to get through it...

thanks Linda... goodness the xmas chapter is going to be laced with you, you are inspiring me to lay in so much, just so you know...

thank you!

steph

p.s.- i love that you were up so late with me, and here we are again... just a few hours later... across the miles.... sharing once again!

Beautiful.  Loving. You've made them seem so real. Rob has a very loving family.  That is why he is as well.  THe brilliant white light of fame captures his beautiful smile.  The craziness of the limelight puts him at odds with the intrusion into his personal space.  Nick, this character anyway violated everything he is about.  Home is where he is loved and can be just Rob. Jen is home. He seems to sparkle (no Edward pun intended) when he is safe. His family provided him with a beautiful truth.  Love.

Author's Response:

Thanks Linda. PArt of the beautiful charm of Robert is his sincere beliefs and intense dedication. GAh, i find that more attractive than piercing eyes and a winning smile. and eyes are my thing...

He must truly have so much to have to deal with, and to have a refuge in his home.. he needs that. Sad that London isn't what it was for him even last year this time... but it is so much better than NY or LA.

To bring Jen home is symbolic, to bring her into his most private part of his life... Has he done this ever?Has he had someone he can bring home to Mom and say without a doubt is the most important person in his life?

Sigh. he is young  and i have faith he will find her one day. Does that make me a Kristen hater...absolutely not. i just think he needs a place to call home that is outside the glitz and whirlwind that is Hollywood.

Home is where the heart is never rang more true than how i think of Rob when he is home.

thanks Linda.

Again , a beautiful review that gets me going this morning!

love ya!

steph
