Steph: I just wanted to say that I for one WILL be staying with the fic. I love how you've handled to story so far, and the reactions of the characters in this chapter seemed real. I am on Team Happy Rob as well, I figure since he's not likely to kick aside the kiddie toys in order to come knocking on my front door, he should be with whomever makes him happy. I like to joke that the recent pics are ruining my Egyptian river cruise!!
Can't wait for the next chapters, I look forward to them with fan-girl anticipation.
Eryka
Author's Response: Thanks Eryka!
It means a lot to hear from all of you on this. and to hear that you all enjoy my take on the characters, it makes me feel so lucky to have so many loving and supporting readers. Thank you. it means the world to me. It keeps me going.
Thanks for sticking with me. And i promise- Bel Ami NTE will be worth waiting for. Dear Jiminy Cricket Rob! the WALKING STICK!

Ok, for starters, FANBLOODYTASTIC chapter! :) I love me some RobJen!
With regards to the issues you brought up in your author notes....I'm seriously saddened that the way you have portrayed ANYONE in this story would cause you to lose readers of this magnificant story. Ok, so Rob has his daft, ass-y moments; Kristen is a bit of a bitch and Jen gives it right back to her.... This is a RL story and absolutely no-one in this world is perfect. If anyone thinks for a moment that these people whom the characters are based upon don't have less than nice moments then they are seriously deluded.
I'm so much more comfortable reading a story about Rob and a fictional girl. I don't want to read about Robsten for the most part. It's not because I'm against the idea of them...but somehow I feel like when it's based upon two REAL people and their life behind private doors, well I feel like I'm intruding.
I get that this is not what NTE is about :) It's about a fantastic and interesting young man who deserves like the rest of us, to meet the love of his life. He just so happens to be famous in RL. The journey he has taken with Jen in NTE has never been smooth and their interactions with one another and with others (smooth or otherwise) form part of the storyline. I too would want nothing more than to see Rob have his own real NTE :)
Gosh, can I crap on and never really get to my point!? *LOL* Just point out the naysayers and I'll go bash them over the head with an oversized blow-up hammer shall I? :D
Author's Response: Thanks so much my dear!
I agree. These people are everyday people when the cameras are turned off. they may be eccentric, weird, farting belching sort of people behind closed doors... hehehe. there will be no farting Rob's in my fic, really... hehehe
but they are real and faulty and fragile...just like you and i.
I could never write something about ROBSTEN not knocking the ones that do. I take my hats off to them. It's hard enough to get my head around one of them, and the idea of Rob and a Jen makes it that much more ficititious for me.
NTE is all about finding love. finding yourself, and finding the ability to make it in this crazy world when the world doesn't want you to make it. I truly hope one day Rob finds his NTE.
hahaha! thanks my dear for the support. I love you guys more than words can say. You make this story worth writing.
so thanks!

Seriously Steph, I have to say that was one of my favorite chapters so far because it was so real. It was very well written and I think you portrayed each character perfectly. I know it must be hard to write real people but I don't think it could have been done better without personally knowing each character.
Author's Response: oh my goodness, thank you so much my dear! really you don't know how much that means to me! this was a very hard chapter to write. having to battle Jen and me and the real world. so thank you. I can only guess at them, and i can only hope i portray them with respect and caring.

Snarky Kristen. Yes, I think it is difficult for many of us, Jen included, to remember sometimes that KStew is still only a teenager. We see this exceptional actress who has lived an amazing life especially over the last few years, lots of experiences, etc. But when the day is done and all has been said, she is still just a teenage girl---full of her own insecurities, lonlieness, etc. She's snarky, awkward, etc and just difficult to know how to take. But I do like how Jen handled her---both outside the pub when she didn't take any S_it from Kristen and the next morning when Jen held out the olive branch. Maturity! Maybe KStew learned a little bit about being more mature through the whole situation
Now, about Rob. What a dumbass. Why would he throw Jen into a situation like that without warning her? So completely something I think he would do. Again, I think that is one of those maturity issues! I would have been more than a little pissed at him. But Jen handled herself beautifully! She is very gracious and confident whether she realizes it or not. Maybe Rob learned a lesson that some surprises are not GOOD surprises!
Another wonderful, emotionally charged chapter. Loved it. Got mad, got my feelings hurt for Jen, felt despair that they went to bed angry with each other, proud of Jen for being the adult and going to breakfast, felt relief and peace when she and Kristen came to an understanding, but still shaking my head at how thoughtless the whole situation was of Rob. Men!
Author's Response: thanks! yep..she's still a little girl in so many ways (and add to that a valley girl from Cali- hey i can say it- i lived there for her ENTIRE life...hahaha) Jen took it well. and yeah, Jen knows when to fight, and when to be the diplomat- most of the time! hahaha!
Rob and Kris might learn something from this older woman. how to handle things better, take on responsibilities better... who knows.
Rob has a lot to learn about relationships. It's not like being with your mates. You still have to go home and sleep with this person next to you. and if you hurt them, that makes for uncomfortable times. Jen will only be able to take that for so long. And when they come out, he needs to be ready i think more than she will. Her grace and confidence will show through on that red carpet ( I am suddenly thinking of Sandra Bullock once more-and how well she has handled her life as her personal life crumbles) men don't get it. It takes a strong woman to deal with them, and maybe by Rob being so young, he'll learn.
Thanks my dear !
your words continue to inspire me!

Hey Steph...another FABULOUS chapter.
OK so I am for Robsten...but I agree with you...him being happy is the most important thing. I am a Robsten fan because in reality they are both just eccentric enough to be right for each other.
But I LOVED this chap...I loved how Jen treated Kristen and I thought Kristen's character was dead on. My best friends in the fanfic world are Kristen haters and I find myself constantly defending her. Being older, I remember when Jodi Foster was starting out in Hollywood and Kristen is so like her...all the girl needs is a chance to grow into the celebrity and maybe some coaching along the way. But like Rob......I think she is here to stay and we have only seen the beginning of their Hollywood careers.
Thanks again for another rockin' chapter - as always can not wait for more!!!
Tami
Author's Response: Thanks so much Tami!
It truly means so much to hear from all the "camps". Always and forever Happy Rob for me.
I liken Kris to Jodi as well. she needs time to grow. She has years of her career ahead of here, same with Rob.
So glad you liked my version of her, truly i worry about portraying all of them just right. And Kris has a lot going for her, and against her. We'll see alot of that as JenStews relationship develops...ok. i giggled at that one... Jen and Kris will learn alot about one another in the next couple of chapters.
Thanks so much my dear! really it means a lot to hear from you. This was a scary chapter for me.

Well as always I loved this chapter:) But I felt so bad for Jen. I've been her before and its not a comfortable situation to be in. The part where he is trying to make excuses for Kristen just killed me!!
I'm so glad that it all worked out in the end though and that Kristen was just a little jealous..loved that part!

Good chapter but honestly, I loved your A/N more. Very honest & heartfelt. This is FF folks, so a certain amount of taking free license with Rob as a character is expected. This story is one of the few "Rob" stories that I follow because I do think it's respectful & careful in it's portrayal of him as well as his family. As I'm writing this, I think this is probably one of your more realistic chapters. Nice job. Can't wait for the next update. I've also really enjoyed your outtakes.
Author's Response: thank you my dear.
It really means a lot to me to see your words here. I truly try to represent the characters to the best of my heartfelt ability. It's FF absolutely, but it is also bleeding those lines where people grey them out. But it needs to be reiterated that this is FIction Rob and Kristen. Kristen gets a bad enough rap in the world. I refuse to be cruel and paint her as a truly heartless witch. If anything, I like Kristen more after writing her in these chapters.
Thanks for the love on the outtakes. i am enjoying them immensely.
Next chapter coming soon!

Took a while to review this. Story first. Rob really blindsided Jen. Eager to step outside the inner circle and comfort zone of his family. Now let's meet his close friends. No prep, just here you go. And oh, by the way here is Kristen. Way to go fella. Both of these women have issues about their age and fitting in. And I'm sorry, the crack about looking good for her age is just too snarky. Grey hair. Please. Did Jen overreact? Advance notice about the "meet and greet" would have provided emotional prep time. Drinking and bruised egos make for a bad cocktail and a recipe for disaster. And guess what? Jen walked out, and poor Kristen puked. How much were those boots?
They all knew about meeting Jen. Now, let's watch her perform. Rob screwed up. If it was so important for Jen and Kris to get along he should have given Jen a heads up. Like with Nick. Even though that did not turn out well, at least Jen knew how to handle herself. And in the end both the girls were able to salvage a common ground because of Jen's maturity and the ability to raise the bar of peaceful negotiations. I think she is going to have to fix a lot of ROb's enthusastic errors in judgement concerning their relationship and real life. And Jen is going to have to realize that not everyone is going to accept her. And age will have nothing to do with it.
As for your A/N. Wow. I know I am reading a piece of fiction. Doesn't everyone else? If they don't like RPF. THey shouldn't read it. You constantly put in disclaimers. I personally love this story. Makes me wonder if some people have read Conceited Control. Now that is a way different Rob. FICTION. I'll now get off my soapbox.
Love ya Stef.
Linda
Author's Response: He's such a boy sometimes, just throwing her in there. "But their my friends, they'll like her! " oh rob you should know better... youshould take a lessen from your own POV... well, we'll see that eventually.... i digress...
Yeah, Kris and Jen have major issues- opposite spectrum of ageism. maybe they can help one another out?
Yep. Jen is gonna have to be brave. it won't be about age. It will be about Rob being with someone.Undoubtedly. if the world in general has issues with Kristen (not everyone- don't slam me people!) then she better learn quick that she will have some enemies...and some fans.
yep...FICTION all of it... well the pictures are real. who took them? who cares.... yep...disclaimers are silly, but then again, I don't want Rob or Kristen coming at me with a lawsuit- really guys- i won nothing... you can have my Little Ashes DVD if you want...i've seen it.
I love Conceited Control- BECAUSE it is such a different rob... love it. so yeah... fiction... not real... rob and jen... not real...

Well, i wasn't expecting that, any of it! As far as the story goes, it was good to see Rob introducing Jen to some of his friends. As far as the A/N goes; I just don't care. i am reading this as a work of fiction and i am not bothered what real life Rob may or may not be doing or with whom. Saying that though, I am sooooo looking forward to reading what you do with the Bel Ami filming. Rob in period costume....to die for! And since I am a Period Costumier myself, it is like having my two passions all rolled into one! I am so lucky!
BTW did you know the legal age for drinking here is 18? Just thought I'd mention it.
As usual, looking for ward to the next chapter......
Author's Response: HAHA! and that is the sad difference between "Our PAtz" and "R PATTZ" here in the states. I don't mean that as a jibe. I LOVE that the Uk as a whole just doesn't care. How I wish Rob had that here in the states. it disgusts me to think of the pressure he feels here with all the stupid questions. But at home, it really isn't an issue. I wish we behaved better here...
and now i shall get the angry reviews that not all americans think that way.... It's the press folks... I hate the american press, I hate what it manipulates.... I hate that ROb can't be asked about things like "What did it take for you to prepare for your role?" no we get "so are you and KStew..." ok...mini soapbox over... sorry Joss...I love you... in short... for not caring.
I am just for Happy Rob. I hate having to explain myself over how i write Kristen, but undoubtedly i will get the review of "i can't belive you wrote her like that!" so thus the soapbox.
And oh yes,. I can't wait till Bel Ami... just saying...
Yes, I know the legal drinking age is 18 in Britain. haha, unfortunately, Kris is American, and i am sure SOMEONE will say- "YOU HAD HER DRUNK! SHE"S UNDERAGE!" *rolls eyes at sudden disclaimer i must throw in* Jen will mention the drinking age thing in the next chapter, as she thinks about her mother bear qualities towards this young teenager... hahahha
fiction folks...that's my mantra. I love that you get it.
thanks my dear! next chapter, i promise- no soapbox...

Nice interlacing of the storyline and the true facts! I thought that Jen's conversation with the boys was uncharacteristically cocky though.... That comment about the beers' and men's heads was over the top - not at all what I'd expect her to say to practically strangers. She could seem a showoff out of nervousness, but that... I don't know...and she wasn't even drunk yet... just my opinion..
On the other hand, I did not think she was overly bitchy to KStew - was she supposed to suck it? But I would never be able to give Rob the cold shoulder - but then again I know I'm a weakling!
Can't wait for the next update!
Author's Response: thanks hun!
yeah, she was definitely nervous, and being around a bunch of young brit boys don't help. I see your observations though. I can understand.
I didn't want her to be too bitchy to Kris, she truly wanted to get to know Kris, but again, jen worrying about age and how people view her gets in the way.
oh Rob and the cold shoulder, blame the whiskey- stupid girl. I wouldn't be able to either.

Hi Hun! TeamHappyRob rules! Beautifully written as always. I'm sure it was difficult for you to write. I loved the descriptions of Kris-she's so young and inexperienced. Loved your take on his mates. I've found out quite quickly that you can never please everyone. There will always be people who want to complain-that is amplified when you're writing a RPF. All you can do is stay true to who you are and where you want to take your story.
Your gift is beautiful and a joy for all of us to read. Never doubt that you have made an impact, and our days are brighter with your wonderful story.
I'll be drooling over TopHatRob...wow...that is all.

We can't please everyone, try as we may. that's what makes the human race so interesting. We are all different. and RPFs are just one more thing for people to not like. But there are those few that appreciate them, and for them i am truly grateful. I do spend nights wondering if i really am that creepy weirdo that i am labeled as by people who hate our stories. Wow. This was quite the chapter. Was it difficult to write? I'm currently working on weaving Kristen a bit more into my own story, but my feelings about her are so mixed, it's really been a bear.
I loved the interaction between Jen and the guys. And Rob & Jen's fight really tugged at the heartstrings.
Kristen's behavior toward Jen in the pub was driving me nuts. Jen handled it remarkably well. (And, Jameson's is my favorite whiskey!)
I chuckled at all of Jen's descriptions of Kristen's various 'looks.' Well done.
I admit, I'm not a big KStew fan; she's okay, but the 'beautiful but awkward/bored/snarky/twitchy' public persona is getting old. However, if she is who makes Rob happy, who am I to complain? As long as he's happy--right? It's his business.
Can't wait for more! Bel Ami Rob is a beautiful thing.
Author's Response: Thanks my dear.
This was an incredibly difficult chapter to write. On so many levels. Heartbreak for my Jen in the reality of Real Rob's world, on top of tryogn top weave this story around pictures that don't help the story line at all.
So i took Jen as a woman who wasn't enamored of KStew. not because she had dated Rob. Jen is not a jealous person, as we will discover as he heads to Bel AMi land... hehehe But she is more mature, and remember, she is creative and observant. I think she appreciates quality work over what sells. Kristen is a good actress in her eyes, but she still has lots of room to grow-she is still young. Heck, Jen has issues with Rob's acting, which we will see soon as well. she'll let him know when he sucks. She's honest.
It's all about Happy Rob- whether it's ROBJEN ROB or ROBSTEN ROB, or WHATEVER ROB... as long as he's happy- I'm happy...oh course ROBSTEPH would make me happiest... but we all know THAT will never happen... hahahaha

I must admit I felt a little weird about this chapter since it dealt with real events and the people in them...but your long-ass A/N did a great job of explaining why you wrote it the way you did. I think you handled it extremely well and you certainly won't be losing me as a reader - I'm lovin' this story too much for that!! Oh, and shower sex to boot - WOOHOO!! Author's Response: Thanks my dear. RPF's are difficult. and I am weaving a lot of real life events into this story. You'll see more as he has gone back to work. But just as i respect Rob and his privacy, i don't want to portray Kris or anyone else in a disrespectful fashion. Some of you may ask why i chose to make Nick such a prick....
