But they really didn't step out! Still! only to like 6 people. And hiding again at the airport.. sigh.. When I saw Rob be strong I was sooo happy, but then as the chap went on to there being no one there I admit to being so disappointed. :( I really, really hope to see headlines. I am inmpressed with her standing up and pressing charges and talking back to the Scummit Pres.. liked that a lot.
Author's Response: I'm sorry you were disappointed my dear. It's a small step, and to be honest, had Jen rested up more the night before, she probably would have strode alongside Rob in the airport. But there is still discretion to be had. Can you imagine if the first press photos of them as a couple to hit the internet (let's say Robsessed or Pop Sugar) is of two tired and worn people, one being a complete and utter stranger....
"OMG WHO IS SHE!?"
"ROB DUMPS KRISTEN FOR THIS?!"
or something of that degree... but yes, they need a bigger outting... in a controlled environment ( another premier perhaps?)

Loved how Rob handled the incident between Jen and the summit mob.

God, I hope that you are not burning the candle at both ends, just to get something posted for us. I mean, I was dying to know what Rob was going to say from the last chapter, as much as anyone else, but I wouldn't want you to lose needed sleep to survive your real life. I'm just saying...
Anyway, I've been holding off reviewing lately because I wanted to see how this scene was going to play out before saying anything. I guess my review is on the whole NYC trip, not just this chapter.
First, I would like to think that there aren't people like the ones portrayed from Summit in this story, really out there in the business. I know that I am naive thinking that, but with the internet, the movie moguls and producers don't have much control over what's being seen by fans and the paps, like they used to. I mean back in the day, Rock Hudson couldn't be gay, and Judy Garland was hooked on diet pills and alcohol because of their movie contracts. My DH thinks that the guy from High School musical and his relationship with his costar is just hoax, because he is probably gay. LOL I do think that Jen did well and held her own, against the Summit beast. Your comment at the top, about "not screwing with" our boy is exactly what I've been thinking all along.
I also thought that Rob handled Jen's bruises as well as could be expected. I know that my man would have flew out the door if I hadn't stopped him, and having Mike remind Rob if where he was really needed, was well played, dear. Like Jen, I would not have fallen for the, "I just need a smoke" line either.
On to Rob's wardrobe, I too noticed the tear in his sleeve during the Today show interview, and thought that maybe he did the "Bothered" scene with Jimmy Fallon first, and tore it getting down from the tree. :) I loved that Rob can make fun of himself like that, and heart his comedic timing. OMFG, the light gray suit, ***whimpering***waking up to see him in that, would have killed me dead. I loved him in that. I have many pics of him in that suit. It just fit him so well. God Bless that tailor. ***fanning self***
Lastly, I understand his family's concern about Jen's safety with regards to what will be leaked about her, from Summit, but backpedalling just doesn't seem right either. Waiting to see what happens next before saying anymore about that.
Oh, I read the first couple of paragraphs of this chapter at least three times before moving on, just hear Rob say it again in my mind one more time. ***happy sigh***
If you can't tell by now, I think that your story is amazing...

burning the candle at both ends... *looks sheepish* maybe a little, which is why the updates have been a little slower in coming. But then there is this burning need to get this outta my head, it's almost like a compulsion. it makes me smile though to see the love and affection that you all have for this story (and maybe a little me...) so thank you for the concern, and i mean that with warm welcoming hugs to you. it means a lot to know that you guys care.
ok... so the chapters. this whole trip was difficult. maybe because early on, Jen was supposed to stay home to take care of Mr. P. But RobJen headlocked me and told me they would not be separated again.... sigh... and i agree with them... And they both wanted to just step out... sigh.... and I agree... but Summit...
Yes, I think this is the extreme vision of a company. Especially when you see celebrities (I'm not mentioning names.... Lindsay, Britney, Mel) make such asses of themselves.... why would Summit strong arm Rob, a charismatic and genuine soul.
MONEY.
and publicity. but this is definitely an extreme and poetic license thing. I can see the company having concerns about their relationship, but certainly not holding her hostage.
So glad you liked Rob's reaction. He is really upset, but it takes a man with a wife ( love my Mack- i have a great outtake with his wife written) to make Rob see that Jen is more important.

The backpedalling will be an issue, absolutely. they need to hold true to one decision. we'll see if Big man or something else hinders that. the nice thing is that now that they are in London, things are a lot more private there, even in public. How much did we really see Rob while on Bel Ami... hehehe

Great update -- wasn't expecting the law!!! You relieved the stress and anxiety from the last chapter. Glad Jen and Nick can rethink their relationship.

Told you what a great writer you are and that you really need to consider publishing -- but -- I want to take the time to tell you how much I appreciate all that you give of yourself to all of your followers. I think it is truly awesome for you to do so unselfishly. I can only imagine at what expense to your personal life.

Jen and Nick are definitely forging something new in their relationship. based on Rob's sanity and happiness to be sure, they could do really great things working together...
your personal note really brought me to tears. thank you for that, truly. it takes a lot to do this. and if it weren't for the love of you all, I probably wouldn't be here. And Jen and Rob would have had a very short life. But you all pour your hearts out as i do, and for that I am so grateful. I have "met" some truly spectacular people, and i can only hope that maybe this crazy little story has made a difference in people's lives. I love you all for your wonderful support and love you have provided.

Where to start? First let me say that the last chapter had me really nervous...but I should never lose faith in you. You brought out the Rob we all know and love--the one who loves Jen more than life itself and he stood up for her. I was bouncing in my seat and crying when he introduced her as the love of his life. Perfect.
I don't even know where to begin with the rest of it. So much happened in this chapter. So much stress and angst. So much to deal with. But it all boiled down to the fact that Rob and Jen are committed to each other and to their relationship and NO ONE is going to get in the way of that.
This chapter was well worth the wait!!!!! (But please don't keep us waiting that long again! It's been torture! Just ask my hubby. I've wailed and complained all week---longing for an update!)

I love how strong Jen has become, taking on Scummit and instead of looking to Rob to comfort her; making sure she does what is best for him. I wish I could see this as a movie, it is so clear in my head. Of course Rob would play himself. Who would you like to see play Jen? I know you have mentioned Sandra Bullock but are there any others?

It's good to see strong Jen back! I don't know why they don't just call up People Mag and have a sit down interview with them where they get it all out in the open. I adore Rob and want to see him happy, and I'd like to think that that's what most of his fans think.

Thank god. He stood up to the Summit honchos. He obviously seems more happy with open affection while out so how long till the press catch on, it is definitely time for everything to be out in the open. I believe it would be detrimental to their relationship at this stage to continue with the secrecy. Jen needs to feel that he is proud of her and willing to stand by her no matter what the press throw at them and it looks like he may be heading that way now. I know he has long said that he wants to more open with their relationship but actions speak louder that words and up till now he has had no follow through. Not meaning to be down on the man as I know circumstances have overtaken them and overshadowed things but I think they are both ready now. Maybe the British press would be the best ones to come out to, while they are known to crucify many a celebrity in the cruelest fashion they certainly love Rob.
Christ almighty am I getting too involved in this story again. Well you write so well Steph and I think because you are following real timelines and real events you are able to make us feel as if it is could be real and it makes us care so much for the characters involved, the ficticious ones and the depictions of real life people.

Being in London will be great for them. because, really? how much of rob did we really see in public while he was on Bel Ami? hehehe

Oh god he can't let her down now not after she just stood up to their bullying tactics, the end of that last sentence better be '...my girlfriend' or similar or I'll jump in the bloody computer and smack Rob myself.
I'm sure he is going to be so mad when he hears what they did to her, I just hope he is as strong as she is in standing up to them. If I was Jen I would be inclined to walk away if he won't stand up for her, Rob or no Rob a girl has got to have some self respect. I am so proud of Jen. After everything life has thrown at her recently, and after the shock she just went through starting her period, she was strong and so together. Rob has learned so much and grown up so much that I hope he finds a clever way to deal with those thugs. I am almost afraid to see his reaction when he finds out what they did to Jen. Maybe that will be the push he needs to throw them for a loop. I noticed that, so far, he just used her name. Will he add on some sort of title, like girlfriend? I would strongly suspect that what Scummit did was illegal...forceful confinement, assault, kidnapping, extortion.......
