Yes, I had read the story time ago, and it did make me very nervous for a while. But you dealt with a potentially devastating plot with such grace. It should be on ff too, I think.

Seriously so adorable together. I'm very, very happy they 'figured things out', as it were. Edward did seem to be over the majority of his reservations come the honeymoon. Something must have happened to allow that! :)
[Also, I stayed up to read this, because who needs sleep when there's good Twilight fic available?]

Nice... thank you for not having Carlisle and Bella do it... I dont think I would ever look at them the same...

Argh >I< just died of embarresment, Im sry but I cant read any further than this its too far out :s
Author's Response: Hi--Thanks for commenting! I can understand your reluctance to read any further. Without revealing the rest of the plot, I will tell you that readers who read the entire story seemed very satisfied in the end. I hope you will try some of my other stories. Everything else I have written is fully in canon... and that's a hint, actually, about "Mind's Eye," too. I really believe in staying as true to the characters as possible.

Ok, now I will post a review. I was so... unsettled by what was transpiring. But Carlisle was just so gentle. I just love the way you write him. He's just wonderful! More so than Edward. That is, in your stories.
I loved the whole "soft" feel you gave to the story. Nothing was harsh or hard or... I don't know how to explain it.
Thank you for this story. I'm glad I gave it a chance and read it.
Please don't stop writing Carlisle the way you do. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. As you can probably guess, I find Carlisle a fascinating character and always enjoy writing him. But knowing that readers enjoy my portrayal of him is icing on the cake!
I also appreciate your comments about the feel of the story. I think that was the characters--Carlisle in particular--coming through and leaving their influence.
I'm so glad that you decided to stick with the story and see it through. That means a lot to me! I'm working on a new story now. It won't feature Carlisle quite as much as "Mind's Eye," but he will have an important part to play, and his gentle, compassionate nature will feature prominently in his scenes.
Thanks again for your support and feedback!

at the start of your story i will admit to being slightly worried, i do like carlisle but the thought of him and bella doesnt feel right if you know what i mean. but by the last few chapters i have to admit you are a brilliant writer. i hope you get your own books out there cause you totally make me believe that bella and edward are real people. thank you i really enjoy reading your stories
Author's Response: I think many readers shared your reaction initially. Thank you for trusting me enough to continue reading the entire story. Of course I would never have Bella with anyone other than her Edward! Thank you, too, for your lovely words. I sincerely appreciate them. You have definitely left me with a big smile!
I am working on a new story. It's AU, but the characters have retained their traits (personality and vampiric... or human, as the case may be). It's a different venture for me, but I'm enjoying it. Hopefully I can begin posting within the next couple of weeks.
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts and impressions. It means so much to me! :)

I did decide to read on a little bit and I think you ended the story very well. I guess I'm just not used to reading anything OOC, so this story surprised me (a lot :)).
Anyway, I ended up liking the story much better than in the beginning, so I'm glad I kept reading!
Author's Response: I appreciate your sticking with the story to the end. If you've read any of my other stories, you know that I usually write completely in canon and in character, so this was definitely a departure for me. Still, I tried to keep everyone as true to character as possible, given the situation in which I'd placed them. ;)
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! I'm always grateful for readers' feedback!

Uhm... okay. This is weird. And wrong. And just weird.
Author's Response: I know this is an unusual premise, and many readers were put off by it initially. I understand if you decided not to continue reading. However, the feedback I received indicated that those readers who did remain to the end were quite satisfied. I'd love to know your thoughts if you keep reading. Thanks for reviewing; I always appreciate hearing from readers!

This story is creative and well written. Good job, Catharticone and Ninapolitan! I was mortified at first, scared to death that you were actually going to allow Carlisle and Bella to go through with it, so much so I nearly stopped reading. But the technical quality of the writing was so much better than other fanfics that I felt it deserved to be read, if only for the writing. Now I'm truly pleased that I did persevere, because of course the plot turned out well too. Well done, and thank you for a good story!

Now there's a solution I wouldn't have thought of, this should be an interesting story!! LOL!! I adore your stories, I was plesantly surprised to stumble across your profile here on Twilighted yesterday, didn't know you had an account here too (a gold mine that is- I squealed when I clicked your profile and saw all the stories!) Anyways, as always, you write so well, and do all your homework and I respect how much time that takes! I'm a sucker for the "hurt/ comfort" genre as well and the dynamic between Carlisle and Bella. Thanks for sharing!!

Wow...this story was very different but wonderful. Thank you for writing such a different tale with a great edward and bella ending. I look forward to reading more.
Author's Response: Thank you for taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed the story. I really appreciate it! It was certainly a different sort of story for me to write; I'm usually very in-canon. But this idea just kept niggling at me. So, hearing from readers means a great deal to me.
I have several other stories posted here at Twilighted if you're interested in reading more.
Thanks again!

Ah yes...simply wonderful...
Thanks, so much, for sharing this story with us.
I'm so happy that I have LOTS of your other work to read through!
Kathie
Author's Response: Hi Kathie,
Thank you so much for all of the lovely feedback! I really, really appreciate it. I'm so glad to know that you enjoyed this story. It is by far the most unusual one I've ever written. All the rest of my stories are in canon and are intended to fit in as missing scenes/situations that could have happened in between books or chapters. So you started with the exception, I think. I hope you'll enjoy the more mundane content of the other tales. :)
Here's a funny coincidence: I was poking around on fanfic today (I had some unexpected extra time between clients), and while browsing through communities, I found yours. I recognized your name from Twilighted, and then an hour later there was a review from you! I'm still chuckling at that.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about any of the other stories. Thanks again for taking the time to review, rate, and comment.

First...LJ Summers directed me to your body of work...I'm tickled that there is so much of it...and completed too!
Second, I asked her which story I should start on...and she said THIS ONE...but she added a disclaimer...she told me to NOT read the reviews...just to read through it...then go back, read the reviews and laugh!
Okay...now I'm at the end of THIS chapter...and I'm going to click next and hold on to the edge of my chair...
Never be afraid to expand on ideas....clicking next now...

Um, sorry...I meant to say that I was not only NOT put off by the proposal. Definitely could have phrased that better. Double negatives are so confusing...

After reading some of your other reviews I can't help but notice that I'm one of the few who was not only put off by Edward's proposal, but actually turned ON. So in that sense, I'm not so sure how helpful my opinions really are. Clearly, since I'm not die-hard Edward/Bella, I'm in the minority around here. ;-)
Reviewer: Roonie (Signed) · Date: April 28, 2010 07:50 PM · On: Epilogue (Ninapolitan)
Well, you certainly managed to keep them in character. Though if I were Bella, I might feel a little bit mortified that I was willing to do something Carlisle and Esme would never have dreamed of actually going through with. Though perhaps the end results were enough for her to put all that aside?
I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't a tiny bit disappointed that nothing actually happened between her and Carlisle, but that's just the perv in me talking. Plus, you did such an extraordinary job of building everything up that even the slightest touch was completely steamy. That's really saying something, considering how much Twilight smut I've actually read. It takes quite a bit to grab my attention nowadays, but your slow caresses and sweet intimacy was incredibly compelling. Again, it's all about the build-up and you seem to be the master at that.
So well done. As much as I would have enjoyed your portrayal of a Carlisle/Bella love scene, it really would have been impossible to keep things in character, because these characters simply never would have agreed to it. Well, except for Edward and Bella, apparently... ;-) I will concede, though, that it was very Bella-like for her to agree to the whole scheme on the premise that she might learn something to make her a better lover for Edward. A small detail that you added, which made the whole thing that much more believable. Between that and her desperation to be intimate with Edward, I can actually believe that Bella might have a agreed to it. So you were very convincing, in that respect.
I will say that I didn't enjoy the Edward/Bella scene as much as I might have if I weren't so confused/distracted by what had transpired between her and Carlisle. But I'm not sure what exactly you could change to fix that, as it rather critical that Edward remain clueless until the "act" was over with.
Overall, though, it was a wonderful read. As are all of your stories, I'm finding. Really, there's no need apologize for (or feel uncertain about) anything you write, because I can assure you, they're all gems.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for all of your interesting comments. I really appreciate that you took the time to share your thoughts as you read.
This was a challenging story to write, as I did want everyone to remain in character ultimately while still pursuing this somewhat strange plot! I was caught off-guard initially when so many readers protested the premise. Since I knew how it would all end up, I didn't really stop to think that others would be upset by the potential turn of events. I had to chuckle to read that you were a little disappointed that Carlisle didn't really follow through with Edward's request. Steamy as I think such a scene could have been, I wouldn't be able to write it if I kept the characters in mind. It just wouldn't work for them.
I'm sorry if the actual Carlisle/Bella scene was confusing. I spent a lot of time writing and rewriting it, but I guess it didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped. Was it clear afterwards, when Carlisle explained it to Edward, or did it remain confusing?
In the end, this was a story about trust and affection, and I hope that's what readers took away from it.
Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback!

Reviewer: Roonie (Signed) · Date: April 28, 2010 04:42 PM · On: Chapter 3
Well, I don't see how it's possible to pull this off while keeping everyone in character...but if ANYONE can do it, I know it's you. And while I've read many, many Bella/some-other-Cullen pairings, I've never, ever read one that wasn't OOC on some level. So I'm pretty damn excited at this point...especially since it's Carlisle. *dreamy sigh*
We'll see what happens....
Author's Response: Um, yeah... This story was a massive depature for me at first. I wanted to try something really different. Some readers just couldn't stick with it, which I completely understand. But I think that those who managed to continue to the end felt satisfied with how everything wound up. If you do end up reading the entire story, I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks so much for giving it a try! I probably should have warned you about this one. ;)
