Wow, Joe is a giant prick. He could have at least waited until Bella was back on her feet before bailing. What an absolutely horrible human being.

On a happier note, I loved the new chapter! It was very emotional, I can really understand Bella's pain. She's lucky to have her father and her friends to support her, or I don't knw what would have happened to her. It's clear that she's not out of the woods yet though. She's so depressed... poor thing. I can't wait for the next chapter when Edward makes his appearance. This is a wonderful story and you are a very talented writer. Keep up the excellent work!

Yeah, Joe's a big giant one. LOL. I was hoping it would come across.  You can probably get worse than dumping your girlfriend after her mom dies in a car accident and she's lying in a hospital recovering - but probably not by much.  Thank you for "getting" Joe.

great story ,just found it and im hooked.mmmm .....joe i know this sounds terrible but better to be gone now than when bella is better,and thinking that she has a reliable boyfriend deal with all the hurt now

Whew, first off this was very believable.  I know how easy it is to get angry after something so lifealtering happens to you.  I am usually an easygoing person but I changed after the accident, especially in the first 3 years after, going through surgery after surgery, physical therapy etc.  I know how irratating it was to watch people walk in front me of me, always ask if I was ok etc...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love how realistic you have made it.

Aww :(  very nicely written beginning, but such a sad take so far.  Having been in an auto accident and having to go through physical therapy so I could walk again I'm curious to see how you treat it.  Can't wait for more, I'm moving on ...

I've never been in a car accident, so I hope I'm doing justice to what it would really be like.  If I do miss the boat on some stuff, please let me know. I try to keep things as realistic as possible, although some stuff I just have to guess on.

Wow could Joe be more of an ass? He doesn't even have it in him to be a friend or perhaps a compassionate human being? As much as that must hurt anyone would be better off than to have someone like that in their life any way.

Oh Joe.  Would it help if I told you he was just misunderstood?  I didn't think so.  

Bella had a feeling this was coming, but the way he went about it was a complete surprise.  She'll get over it though; especially when a green eyed doctor shows up. :)

Yet another really well-done chapter. I liked the way you are focusing in this one on so many of the physical struggles of an accident victim. You're writing comes across as very authentic, and either you've gone through something similar before, and/or you've done an amazing job with your research! The little details like her getting sore from sitting on the plane lend great authenticity to it.

Looking forward to meeting Edward :-), but I never mind a story that takes the time to set up the characters well. It makes us appreciate the eventual romance all the more when we are engrossed in the backstory. Nice!

I've been lucky enough to never have been in an accident, so all Bella's feelings are just based off of what I think she'd be going through.  My betas have also done a great job of making sure that I'm staying on track with her how her injuries are affecting her.  I want the readers to know just how much she's hurting physically and emotionally right now.

And Edward is definitely coming - I'm going back and forth on whether he'll show in Chapter 4 or Chapter 5.  Both have been written, but at this point can be interchangable.  Have to figure out which one will make the story flow best.

Another great chapter.  I enjoyed hearing a bit of Bella's past with Alice and Jake and I simply adore that the three of them were (and still are) friends.  Bella's going to need all the help she can get to put her life back together and heal from the damage done.  She will never be the same woman she once was but with their help and in time she can regain some sense of being normal.

I'm so happy you're enjoying the story!  Bella's past will continue to make appearances throughout the story.  The friendship between Jake, Alice and Bella will play an important part throughout the story and hopefully Bella will realize just how much they want to help her.
